While that may be, it's not like I can make new Itagaki-related content materialize so easily. Best I can do usually is just higher-quality scans of likeable pages.

But Baki threads are pretty great. If we force them they will become memetastic.

His 'power boost' is his weapons, remember? He still firmly acknowledges that he's not nearly as physically strong as Baki, but the weapons add points.

The Garouden ending was garbage and that's saying a lot because it had a dumb plot as it is.

Well yeah. He's probably the first author to bring back a badass icon like Musashi into the present, using cloning, in an intense fighting manga.

And because there are so many things that are being done for the first time, Itagaki doesn't really know how to phase them properly. That's why Tokugawa's weird reactions, imaginary slices, huge as fuck hands etc are getting lame now.

I mean the story. Garouden ended abruptly without explaining the appearance of the new challenger.

Knowing that Itagaki knows like a billion fighters, I'm envisioning a proxy fight. He does do martial arts himself, but not on an "I'll kill you" level, as far as I know.

Do you know what the fight was about? Knowing martial artists doesn't or at least shouldn't mean much considering how much he talks about honour.

No clue. Like I said, it's what I heard; I have no idea if it's totally true. That being said, most fights between artists and writers are about the specifics of the adaptation, so it was presumably something along the lines of that.

Is that a thing in Garouden? I've been considering reading it for a long time, but always been sidetracked by some new read or another. If it is a thing, I'm not sure I want to read it. How would you convince someone to read it? Is it 'as good' as Baki in any sense? Is it incomparable? Pray tell.

I liked the tournament arc a lot too, but I'm a sucker for those.

So how does Che rank compared to the regulars? Could he beat Retsu, Jack, or at least Doppo?

Garouden has a MC which barely gets enough exposure, and it isn't explained how he gets so strong after a timely skip. Just that he trained.

The story is dumb - fighting for fun, honour, Nippon stronk, just like Baki really. But the art and brutality make sure that you will be entertained.

There's manly stuff all around. The MC not being present most of the time also means that the other characters get more exposure.

We don't know, because we haven't seen or heard about him training. The same can be said of Motobe and Gaia, yet they're still accepted as upper-tier fighters right now, so it's quite possible that he's on par with Doppo or Retsu.

He completely destroyed Sikorsky, in case you've forgotten. He's also going up against Musashi right now, so there's that. Itagaki wouldn't put him there if he wasn't going to be able to do *anything*.
