I thought it was another Hollywood live-action. Actually a Japanese live-action is at least as bad if not worse. Japanese manga live-action adaptations are most of the time some of the most embarrassing cinema in existence.
Aside from looking pretty cheap, what was particularly wrong about the live-action Devilman that made fans hate it so much? I assume people who watch tokusatsu are used to low-budget campy visuals so there must've been something really bad narratively.
