thats the fun part user. everybody has hostages, like Syria/Russia have Afrin and Aleppo kurds by the balls, Kurds have Government in Quamshli and Haskanah by the balls, plus they have a long border and Russian in Manbij babysitting. Everybody has a lot to lose right now, so things are stable. Also, US support for SDF drives a wedge between them and Turkey, which is in Russias best interest. Now imagine US lost interest in Syria, because ISIS is defeated and Turkey is after all a strategic NATO ally. How will kurdshits survive then? Turkey would not hesitate to clean an independent PKK nation the old fashioned way. I'd imagine a fair deal with Assad and Russian guarantees for safety will look not so bad then.

> Turkey would not hesitate to clean an independent PKK nation the old fashioned way. I'd imagine a fair deal with Assad and Russian guarantees for safety will look not so bad then. Isnt that the reason why the Afrin kurds stopped chimping out an a larger contingent of Russian MPs is now patrolling the area? I remeber the Turks were firing artillery rounds on Afrin while the Russian were negotiating with the these kurds.

>Baghdad says it won’t tolerate ‘2nd Israel’ as 1,000s of Iraqi Kurds hold independence rally
Crowds filled the streets of the Iraqi Kurdistan capital, rallying ahead of an independence vote this month. While some were waving the flag of Israel, which backs the Kurds’ aspirations, Baghdad says it won’t allow the creation of a “second Israel.”
It's likely just the kike posters changing their tactics. Meme flags were a mistake

The Kurdistan regional government must “call off the referendum that is contrary to the constitution and does not serve the general interests of the Iraqi people, not even the particular interests of the Kurds,” al-Maliki said.
Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi also warned of a “dangerous” decision on secession, calling it “playing with fire.”
The PM went as far as to say that Baghdad “will intervene militarily” if the Iraqi population is “threatened by the use of force outside the law.”
Washington, too, urged the Kurdish region’s authorities “to call off the referendum and enter into serious and sustained dialogue with Baghdad.”
In the meantime, Moscow pinned its hopes on the will of the Kurdish people being conveyed peacefully, with geopolitical, demographic and economic aspects considered, given that “the Kurdish issue stretches far from Iraqi borders and spans neighboring countries.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said“the legitimate aspirations of the Kurds, as of other people, should be implemented within international law.”

Thats were you are wrong mate, Syria and Russia don't even need to fight kurds, if they ever have a problem with them, they just need to greenlight Turkey, and they will do it for free, heck I bet they would even pay to do it. Russia/Assad could simply pull the plug on over half a million kurds without even firing a shot. that gives you some political leverage.

How are alawites different from Arabs?
Justin Garcia
well, all they had was ayn al arab until the yanks stepped in and gave them air cover support and weapons and training. just like the yanks gave the fsa, nouri al zenki, isis and others material support.
so while they did fight, they didn't really do it alone. they were merely a useful vessel into which the usa and pals poured some resources - like others.
it indicates neither legitimacy nor even long term viability on the part of the kurds. Now had america poured those resources into the legitimate syrian government, they would have liberated all those areas.
it's difficult to assess the usa/kurdish alliance as morally good, in that it was always conducted with the hope of creating division within syria that could be exploited to some international law violating end.
whats telling is that the gambit on the part of the usa has failed. and now the usa is abandoning the kurds. the kurds should have learnt that lesson from history. both their own and that of the region.
it's unlikely that larpers such as yourself are even aware of this reality of american foreign policy. but it's true.
kurds did fight. but what they fought for, how they fought and the resources they used in the fight all tell a story, that in totality does not make for a dignified and honourable narrative.
it's a pity, they have fulfilled americas interests, in part, yet they won't win their prize, and if by hook or by crook, they get a prize, they are completely unable to hold onto it.
it's a tragedy, told in scalped monobrows. only the kurds will be crying in their victory.
Christian Lee

“Over the past few days, on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, Russian control and reconnaissance facilities have not identified a single combat of Islamic State terrorists with armed representatives of any ‘third force.’ Therefore, only representatives of the international coalition can answer the question as to how ‘opposition members’ or ‘military advisers of the international coalition’ managed to get to the IS-held areas in the eastern part of Deir ez-Zor [Deir Ezzor] without striking a blow,” Major-General Konashenkov said in a statement on September 17.

Agreed, that's the exact same scenario I referenced in>It makes no sense strategically to openly attack kurdshits right now, plus why would you if Turks are more than willing to do it later on anyway?
I just don't think there is as much collusion between the Syrian government and the Kurds as you are alluding to. I think if anything it's just radio communication to make sure they don't hit each other, and possibly some backdoor deals between a few parties on the front lines. You mentioned how the kurdshits just sat and waited for the SAA to proceed on towards the oil fields, it's as simple as the Kurds can't afford to stretch themselves so thin, they are still bogged down in Raqqa, opening up a front in the heart of ISIS territory would be a nightmare for them. They had no choice but to allow the SAA to advance.

Alawites are a subgroup of arabs. They are technically a religious group, but because they don't proseytize they sort of become an ethinc group as well, similar to how Jews are techincally a religous group but kind of an ethnic group too. Alawi religion is usually classified as a form of shia islam, but this is contested. Some people argue that Alawites aren't really muslims.
