Would Gohan have beat Cell without Vegeta's help?

Considering it was Vegeta that put him in that position in the first place...

But yes he would've, Gohan was holding back his attack as Goku said.

No.

Only if he hadn't fucked up his arm protecting vegeta in the first place.

Could Cell have beat anyone without Vegeta's help?

Could trunks have stopped cell without Vegeta's help?

/thread

Although I think OP is specifically referring to the Kamehameha Clash and how Vegeta distracted Cell for a second so Gohan could pour the remainder of his ki into the blast.

Yeah, Nigger Cell was deminsions weaker than Vegeta and Trunks has been training with Vegeta for a whole year. If Trunks was weaker or stronger it doesn't matter, they were close to each other power level wise.

I said without Vegeta's help. I'm not conviced he could have beaten niggacell in a year without daddy's guidance.

Trunks was stronger than Vegeta when they fought Cell together.
Probably not. But he certainly had the drive to get stronger. He needed a good teacher, though.

>Trunks was stronger than Vegeta when they fought Cell together.
He wasn't, he had his buff powerup that was ultimately useless.

If Goku and Trunks would have gone together into the Hyperbolic Chamber they would have came out unstoppable. Trunks had to train alone because Vegeta was training by himself, and Goku had to spend a lot of time just focusing on Gohan.
Them having more or less the same powerlevel, if they had been training together the outcome would be way better for both of them.
Even Perfect Cell would have bitten the dust.

>Trunks was stronger than Vegeta when they fought Cell together.
>He wasn't, he had his buff powerup that was ultimately useless.

Trunks thought he was more powerful than his father since he didn't knew Vegeta could achieve the same powerup but deemed it (rightfully so) useless.

So they're pretty close in term of raw power at this point.

Not necessarily, Goku had to depend on Gohan's "hidden powers" that somehow never run out after being unhidden 3 separate times.

Trunks was very strong and Goku gave Cell a run for his money. If they had trained together they would have obviously come out stronger, and that bit could have been enough just to kick Cell's ass.

I think the word "stronger" is being used loosely here

While Trunks ultra saiyan form probably makes him -physically stronger- i.e. able to lift more, punch harder, it doesn't make it BETTER since the core problem with Cell wasn't just strength, it was speed and stamina

Physically stronger than Vegeta? Yeah probably
BETTER than Vegeta? No

Goku couldn't match Cell and wasn't really willing to tag team him. Trunks SHOULD (as he's a mutt too) have the super power reserves that Gohan has, but they're never a plot point so he may as well not.

I think you underestimate Gohan. Remember that this kid was fighting Frieza in his final form on Namek when he was 5 fucking years old.

Even if Goku managed to get 10 times stronger, against cell it wouldn't have made a difference. Cell had been holding back the entire time against Goku.

When Trunks powered up the same way Vegeta did at the beginning of the fight, he was more powerful than Vegeta (not just stronger). Later on he took the transformation further (the superbuffed version), and then is when it became useless.

This
On the sheer base Goku hadn't found the way to do SSJ2 until Buu Saga

>Even if Goku managed to get 10 times stronger, against cell it wouldn't have made a difference. Cell had been holding back the entire time against Goku.

Cell was holding back, but 10 fucking times stronger is a lot. Please don't be toriyama bad at math.

Yes

The entire point of the Cell games buildup was that only Gohan could beat Perfect Cell. Goku had hit his limit with his SSJ state which is why another day is the chamber would be pointless.

Goku probably wouldn't have let Cell absorb 18.

Of course this is all tossed down the drain for Buu.

You do realize SS2 is a 2x power boost from SS1?

Get that Daizenshuu shit outta here.

Goku was going all out against Cell, while Cell was still holding back.

Didn't Goku initially picked Gohan to have a sparring partner in the room and make himself stronger, until he realised his son was stronger than him and change his plan to "let Gohan take care of Cell?"

Also they already went in the room of spirit and time for one years. One additional year may not have been enough to reach a level powerful enough to beat Cell. We know after the 7 years timeskip both Vegeta and Goku could go SSJ2 (and Goku SSJ-3), but we don't know how much time it took. Say it took them for years, and with someone to train with it would have taken them two years. They'd be screwed anyway since they only had one year left.

Gohan fought Freezer in his second form, the rest is anime filler.

Doesn't change my point, dipshit. Goku was weaker than cell, yes. 10x weaker? Don't joke.

No, Trunks was better than Vegeta.

First of all he knows how to fight
Second, he goes for the kill instead of playing around

Vegeta might know how to fight but he's retarded.

Krillin said that Trunks was stronger than Vegeta just by looking at them, and then he said that trunks had a hidden trick(his buff form but that was useless).

Wrong, Goku relied on Gohan because he knew he wouldn't stand a chance, he himself says so.

>Goku gave Cell a run for his money.
Read the fight again, Goku was playing around and Gohan(who was already stronger than him) wonders why everyone is so surprised by the fight since Cell is just playing around with Goku.

>Goku was playing around
Cell*

Gohan SS2 100%>>Gohan SS2 less than 50%>=Super Perfect Cell>>>>Perfect Cell>>Gohan SSJ>Goku SSJ=Cell Jr>>Vegeta/Trunks SSJ

Goku was way better than the Cell Jrs. He only got smacked because he was exhausted from his fight with Cell when he had to face them.

>Cell Jr>>Vegeta/Trunks SSJ
You clearly didn't watch the show. Trunks was about even with them.
