Is there a studio even comparable to KyoAni when it comes to background art?

Madhouse
You're thinking Makoto Shinkai. KyoAni uses acrylics and Maya
Pablo is the best background studio that I know about.
Pablo is pretty based but aren't they just used for outsourcing? a lot of studios hand off their shit to them if they can't into background painting.
Watching them paint their backgrounds for Seraph was mesmerizing
They're probably that good because it's a specialty studio that does nothing else. Kind of like Orange for CG.
Wait, I want to see this shit. Where can I see this? I love watching Bob Ross videos, and Seraph background art is god tier when compared to that.
I prefer the sharpness of PA Works
There was a video a while back on dailymotion but it got taken down when Seraph got licensed. tumblr.com
Pretty sure KyoAni leaves the BG art to Anime Kobo Basara.
A kind user in the past uploaded this LWA art book. I've still got it so I reuploaded it. It's all Pablo backgrounds.

Thanks user, I have about 4gigs of KyoAni backgrounds but I'm on rural internet so it would take about 3 days to upload. I can provide a link to the imgur albums I got most of them from if anyone is interested
Nothing will beat late 90s hand painted backgrounds.
>Studio Pablo
They also did a great job on Owari no Seraph.

please post them.

JC Staff is pretty good
I believe the biggest reason why Ghibli movies are so immersive is because of the watercolor painted backgrounds and Joe Hisaishi.
Yes.
Stop being such an entry level fag.

I wish I could get the concept art for Up on Poppy Hill
Artland is pretty good
The thread wasnt created for an actual answer, it was created to lick Kyoanus and ticke their balls
Ghibli, their backgrounds are incredible. Especially the ones in the Spirited Away train scene.

Digital trash is lifeless.

it doesnt really matter how they do it, even if it is done cheaply. other studios can't compare.

Uchouten Kazoku was very pretty
Damn.
Sequel when
Do you retards realize most background works aren't done by the animation studios? Even KyoAni uses ST Blue for backgrounds for the most part.
...
Isn't ST Blue theirs?
KyoAni uses Studio Blue and Animation Kobo Basara and occasionally Headworks but they also have the inhouse background staff.
Around 50% of the backgrounds are done inhouse.
Xebec
Studio Pablo
It's like not even a competition.
Backgrounds are outsourced.
Ghibli
