Will TV anime ever have CG this good?

Scenery isn't that bad, but the character models are horrible.

What's wrong with them?

Show By Rock has the best CGI I've seen.

>CG

name?

It's an ad for a university

Etotama's was better.

Only the last few seconds of this video have a 3D model

Yeah, I didn't have any better webms. But it's actually a 3D model for the last 15 seconds.
All the fight scenes were in 3D too. They did a really good job.
Have this shoddy webm I made just this second.

It was ok until they start moving.

look like shit

That garbage looks soulless

Etotama made me believe in the inevitable CG future.

IT'S INEVITABLE! Also, looks great.

Kissu kissu

No, because to animate like that, every camera angle needs a shitload of extra work on model changes to look good. See pic related.

What said. Although to be more precise, it's from the Animator Expo 2015.

Eva 4.0

Uncanny valley as fuck, cg will never surpass 1000 years hand drawn.

Choose one.
Seriously fuck this, we /pixar/ now?

gay as fuck

Part of it was CGI.

Do any other professional studios make shorts for these events other than Studio Khara?

Really? I totally would have missed it if you hadn't told me user, it blends in SO well.

...

...

I doubt it. It was an attempt by Anno Hideaki to try to find new talents in the animation industry after all.

Although it is quite possible that other studios might do such an event later in a collaboration.

Etotama looked really good, but it's telling that they only did CG for the chibi characters. Working with realistic proportions and more complex meshes is a lot harder. Hopefully with more and more studios taking up the challenge these days, someone can find a way to make it work.

It was mostly a Khara affair, but some episodes were done by other studios. Lots of freelancers worked on the shorts regardless.

Not studios necessarily, but there were plenty of big names involved in the animator expo.

>that choppy as fuck framerate
aaaaaaaaagh

>you'll never get a show made in this engine

...

I could've sworn that I saw one of the anime studio hiring notices for CG animation was asking for work with Unreal Engine so that might be a thing soon.
