Anime cuts a lot of content keeping the bare necessities but it's still good. Do both.

Hakumen is looking pretty damn aroused by all this.

I read the manga since I was curious of the skipped content and it's miles better than this. They cut out some pretty damn good chapters from this which is making this final battle feel a lot more flaccid in retrospect now.

Hakumen and Tora are the only reasons I'm still watching this.

It was garbage after the first few episodes and it is still garbage. Of course no one here will tell you that since everyone has dropped it except for underageb&s, ledditurds, misc. newfags, the odd person with shit taste who make up most of this thread, and for some reason me. I struggle to make it through each episode even while doing other things on the side. It is generic and boring 95% of the time and makes me cringe. The voice acting is terrible, the art is mostly terrible (see QUALITY martial arts guy who had a flashback zoom in on his QUALITY face), the animation is mostly terrible, the music is boring. I want to say mediocre at best but that would be generous.
