So you're saying in the LN, the mighty Emperor Gaz who went through obscene amounts of work and planning to ensure his revival and subsequent reign, delicately orchestrating the majority of the events in the story to culminate in his long awaited resurrection, just fucking stood there like a retard and watched his gun slowly float away as if to say "Oh, ok." while his prized ultimate weapon told him to go fuck himself, and then once again stood completely still watching Chaika prepare and engage the weapon like a braindead Woodstock hippie and then, understanding it's full power because he's the one who designed it in the first place, half-heartedly raised a shitty little barrier to block it instead of taking two fucking steps to the left like someone with an average IQ and basic motor skills would and getting completely obliterated without even flinching, as though he knew from the beginning he was going to lose and didn't even feel like fighting it so he just let it happen so the story could wrap up already?
If so, then it looks like the ending in the source material sucks as much dick as it did in this best and most faithful LN adaptation so far.

Then in a surprising twist no one saw coming, the magical laser gun that's also a hot chick because anime betrays her master because Chaika was nice to her once. She lazily lists away towards Chaika while the wizard just stands there watching like a shitfaced hobo trying to figure out what is happening around him.
The NotMiku lasergunbitch then decimates the wizard who hasn't moved a single muscle in the last two minutes despite all the bullshit that just happened, suffering one of the gayest, most anticlimactic main villain deaths since Fable 2 and lasergunbitch, who helped Chaika because she lied right to her face by telling her she was a unique person with a soul and a personality, pffffhahaha. Ahem, she learns just how unique and special she is when she gets locked up and thrown in the back of a dusty storeroom for the rest of her miserable life as thanks for helping save the world, or whatever. I don't even think the world was in any real danger to begin with to be honest, not like wizard guy was that much worse than the dickheads currently running shit.
