Nah, Ano Natsu didn't have such a complicated love triangle like this anime did, very similar but not the same series, but you'll love the ending in that anime.
The weapon that the villain was going to use to kill everyone said "nah I like that girl you're about to kill, she was nice to me" and went to the girl so she could kill the villain instead.

Clannad, though I'll say that the ending was foreshadowed from early on and wasn't really something that came out of the blue.
I agree with this, but it's still inconsistent with the theme of the series. I like to just pretend the last episode didn't happen, so the series can stay a 10/10.
