Working in the United States sucks

All you Americans realize how shitty it is to work in the United States right?

I'm an expat, I've worked in Australia and now I'm living and working in New Zealand. Every full time employee-- even McDonalds burger flippers-- in the country gets

>4 weeks vacation
>Sick leave
>Accident compensation, even if you're injured away from work
>Maternity leave

Seriously, working in the United States is a RAW FUCKING DEAL. All the power in that country is in the hands of capital, and labor is bent over the railing and fucked. The whole developed world has extensive worker protections to the benefit of wage earners, excepting the United States of America.

I'm a welder with 6 years experience and I'll never wear a hard hat in the United States again. The working man gets stepped on too much.

Bump. Do none of you fucking americans actually work? That would actually explain a lot about this board

That flag in your pic is a disgrace and needs to be burned.

Neet here

Realistically, what would Americans do with 4 weeks holiday? Disneyland? There's fuck all there that can't be visited in three days

Unions are for communists

There's virtually no jobs in the US that start you out with 4 weeks vacation, you most likely won't see any until after your first year and even then it will probably build from 1 week.
Can't imagine trying to hire some new kid who thinks hes just going to take off a month from his new job

>4 weeks vacation

Paid vacation? Because in the US we call unpaid vacation furlough... and people generally don't like it.

>Sick leave
>Accident compensation, even if you're injured away from work
>Maternity leave

all guaranteed by law in the state I live. not sure what you're going on about. is maternity leave paid? because if so, that's bullshit and I feel sorry for the other workers.

Then stay out, we don't want anymore anti american people coming here only to complain.

Why do you hate your flag user

Unsurprising

We invented national parks dude. Just cause we don't fly to greece, get embarrassingly drunk and fuck the local men doesn't mean there isn't anything to do there

>There's virtually no jobs in the US that start you out with 4 weeks vacation

That's the problem, user. Other developed nations have the codified right to paid leave. This means it's better to work there.

Yes of course it's paid

There are things about my home country that fill my heart with pride. But I'm willing to admit that working class people like myself are simply treated better overseas, and it's because of strong worker protections passed into law.

>Why do you hate your flag user
4 USC 8(1) states that flags which are torn or tattered or otherwise unfit for display should be destroyed, preferably by burning. That flag is both torn and tattered, you can see pieces of it hanging off near the far left on the white stripe near the top.

Also the flag code requires it to be taken down at night or illuminated. Considering that flag is huge as fuck and on a crane, no one is taking it down at night, and it isnt illuminated either.

Your pic is bad and you should feel bad for posting it, its a disgrace to the flag you fag.

you think the US is bad.. you should come to eastern europe to see human exploitation you spoiled fuck.

i can't believe you're this buttmad over a google search image for 'american construction site'

Yeah I specified 'developed' nations lel. Obviously being a foxconn worker in china would be way worse than working in the USA but this thread isn't about second and third world countries

>is maternity leave paid?
It is here: the money comes from a reduction in the national insurance tax bill, and if that goes negative as a rebate from the state

>new zealand

i lol'd. yeah i bet it's great living in a country where the entire workforce can just up and stop shearing sheep for 4 weeks a year plus 11 public holidays.

i cant belive you're so buttmad over the labor practices of a country you're not even in that you created a thread about it

Lol it depends. Worked in the US then here. Not going back to the US. People there suck.

>Be normie
>Have to support myself
>Have to support gf who's probably cucking me behind my back
>Have to live in the city even though it's overpriced as fuck because breh
>Have to spend 90% of your day commuting or working
>Get lots of money but next to no free time
>H-Hehe stupid neets!
No seriously, how the fuck do they do that. I practically want to go on a murderous rampage if I have to work longer then a 4 hour shift.

I work in a library. Comfiest job on the planet.

You're telling me... I have to work 5-7 hours a week for free at Walmart on a weekly basis just to keep my job while my yearly hourly raises are only $0.20 cents. I hope the afterlife has better wages.

>why arent we all socialists?
labor movements have always been whiny bitches who get shafted the more they whine, may not happen immediately but there day always comes and the only way out is to stop selling your labor like a pack mule

disgusting. I'm quite proud to live in a country where you don't get paid the same as somebody who does 75% or less of the work.

Be me
worked on off no jobz and I hate them
got few degrees 1 stem
tinfoil hat rant about muh banksters to anyone
tinfoil hat rant about debt instruments
tinfoil hat rant about gov

just waiting for that one more 10x, btc to 50K

end of game

>I'm an expat, I've worked in Australia and now I'm living and working in New Zealand
get out nigger

Just trying to enlighten my fellow Americans about how much better it is to work in other countries :)

I was in the Bakken oilfield for 4 years. 60 hour weeks, 50 weeks a year. Wages were good but it was fucking shit conditions-- no benefits, dangerous, no work-life balance. OSHA only showed up when someone died. Working culture in the USA is unhealthy.

You are a wagie, your marxist opnions don't matter. Enjoy being ruled over by feminists in New Zealand and being bullied by Maori savages

Better vote for Winston Peters so he kicks me out friendo

Conservatives are dogs, not wolves. A wolf would never serve a corrupt master. Dogs listen to whoever feeds them.

you've already been an econmic migrant for what appears like your whole life so you're obviously on the way out

>All you Americans realize how shitty it is to work in the United States right?

It's one of the few places you can plausibly retire at age 35 if you took a month or two to plan at 20.

>There's virtually no jobs in the US that start you out with 4 weeks vacation
FEDGOV does.

you have a shitty attitude and a worse work ethic. i'm glad your ungrateful ass is gone.

I don't, no. I refuse to work until provided with a qt 3.14 that I can taser as much as I want

Here you get 2.5 days of vacation per 30 days worked. You cant take your first vacation until you work at least 6 months. By that time you will have saved 15 days.

After one year working and if you haven't take any vacations you can have 1 month off (30 days accumulated)

>tfw 36
>tfw no savings

I already pay nearly a third of my wages in taxes.

I left the united states in January lol. As I said before, I'm a welder with 6 years experience

.This man has no skills. He can't demand higher wages from the Walton family-- how do you think that's gonna go for him? The only way his life is going to get better (if he continues to work at walmart) is better worker protections. Labor interests need defending in a capitalist society.

>I'm a welder with 6 years experience
you are a pleb wagie with too much a say in government, I'd be surprised if you didn't go blind welding or get eaten by a shark working in New Zealand with your attitude

>Labor interests need defending in a socialist society
FTFY

Look at this bro
I work hard. I stay busy and I take pride in my work. I'm a damn good welder and my old company would hire me in a second if I moved back to the United States. The bottom line is, I got sick of making someone else rich, and my life is better for it now.

Optimize on both ends: See what costs you can cut at home and see what you can do to pull in more income.

The most hilarious thing is how even Americans' own CULTURE has been thoroughly cucked by Capital. They actually believe labor organization and better working conditions is somehow "bad".

(then again, Israel's own labor movement has been disbanded and wrecked in the late 80's. I think we are the only developed country on earth where the standard workday is 9 hours and not 8)

>my old company would hire me in a second if I moved back to the United States
Trump wouldn't allow you to come back things have changed, likely why you left
>making someone else rich
you'll never be rich as a welder

Yeah, it does suck. But we can't all be faggots and run to another country.

>lol guise, it sux to work in our home nation!
>later tho. I'm not gonna try to help, I'm just gonna be a jew and run away

Please, do tell us how.

>4 weeks vacation

7.7% Increase in currency value

>Sick leave

Paid sick leave guaranteed in most states.

>Accident compensation, even if you're injured away from work

Worker's Comp covers accident compensation, an insurance plan adds around 4% currency value at $15/hr and less as wage goes up.

>Maternity leave

Unpaid guaranteed by law in US. If not female, you're being victimized by this, rather than gaining benefit.

So a total actual value of around 11.4% which increases the value of a $15/hr job by a whopping $1.71.

Benefits are a scam and I probably get paid more than you for the same work in overall value.

>If we were socialists wed be rich
you are this stupid

>I enjoy sucking my boss's cock for nourishment
>mmhmmm please yes take all of my life, boss! I don't have a purpose in this world besides working for you!

I dont have a boss, your kind till the fields for me like your ancestors did for hundreds of years. People as stupid as you are suited for such things

The anti-union propaganda I was inundated with when I got hired was cute to experience. The higher-ups know they are fucked if a 3rd party entity is given to oversee things. Given how Walmart is one of the biggest lobbying arms in the government and has contracts with DHS, it will never happen.

I have a change jar that has $500 annually. I can't pull in additional income as I'm too burned out from working overnights for the past 12 years.

OP being an experienced welder you are on the skills shortage list. Getting permanent residency should be no problem and from there, citizenship.

Welcome home future kiwibro!

Yeah it is shit and we all know it.
Well those of us who aren't busy shoving establishment politics down our throats anyway.
The great victory of the corporate world was convincing the common person that they are worth paying millions of dollars a year to do what they do.
It does not help either that during the red scare labor unions and other QOL movements were painted as communist because they fought for the working man.

>graduate college at 22-23
>find and move to a job where the salary is worth at least twice living expenses monthly
>max your 401k contributions each year
>invest the rest in a portfolio weighted significantly towards long-term dividend yield
>purchase a house with as much upfront savings as possible to minimize interest payments or rent out a room to pay for the mortgage
>pay taxes+utilities using dividends
>using rest of dividends, either purchase SHTF goods or reinvest or use dividends to fuel consumption, depending on preferences

Retiring early is all about achieving a baseline lifestyle which can be paid for through passive cash flow.

9 times out of 10 people who aren't from the States don't really understand the whole Local/State/Federal distinction and what policies go where. Foreigners tend to focus on the Federal level because I guess it's the most analogous.

>welder
what's with this stupid fucking meme everywhere
why welders in specific? I bet there are plenty of jobs with severe manpower shortages.

>eaten by a shark
an acquaintance of mine made world news a few years ago
theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/28/doctor-fights-shark-stitches-up-leg

He's not suggesting socialism dude. Labor only has power when it's organized. I'm a wagie, I can't possibly stand up against an employer unless I stand with others in solidarity.

Am I suggesting we seize the means of production? No. I'm suggesting-- through my own lived experience-- that countries with greater worker protections are better to work in.

Archive please unvis.it/theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/28/doctor-fights-shark-stitches-up-leg

Working conditions are already good. All health and safety red tape does is slow the fuck out of progress, nothing is any more safe it's just form filling. Plus these regulations harm the shit out of small business, who now have to find money for frivolous shit like ramps for cripples, constant safety inspections, HR departments etc which add nothing at best and remove productivity at worst

And fuck large unions, they should be dismantled because they harm the very notion of a union with their Jude practices. Workers cooperatives unique to each business are far better than a giant assfuck union

>find and move to a job where the salary is worth at least twice living expenses monthly
ah okay that sounds reasonable and simple
why haven't I thought of that before?

Fuck Drumpf and fuck white people.

>working

cheers norbot

Well no, unions were originally created to try and start a socialist revolution in America. They are still through and through socialist in nature, and if it weren't for that fact that America is no longer truly capitalistic and hasn't been for 100 years, should be eradicated.

>I can't pull in additional income as I'm too burned out from working overnights for the past 12 years.

I don't necessarily mean finding a second job, but leveraging the experience you had doing shit work like overnights to either get a raise or find another job

>why haven't I thought of that before?

Because you live in a tiny, hot, crowded country. America has more considerably more space than is understood.

Its all good telling your poeple how great NZ is but dont forget the cons. Expensive food, crazy expensive house prices, ever growing multicultural shithole. Its rained like the last 2 months straight on off every fucking day.

>reater worker protections
all those do are stifle growth and waeken the country. Europe adopted a lot of those and they had to abandone their empires because of them along with socialist policies. Though, if someone gets hurt through no fault of their own someone should be responsible, but forcing people to agree to your arbitrary and hypothetical guidelinds is pure socialism

>And fuck large unions, they should be dismantled because they harm the very notion of a union with their Jude practices. Workers cooperatives unique to each business are far better than a giant assfuck union
can't argue with you there
Our HaHistadrut is a useless piece of shit that's more of a political launchpad for potential Labor candidates than a real workers' organization.
Once in 2-3 years they bring out their impotent "general strike" threat and then very quickly buckle and settle for 0.5% increase in collective wage agreements (swiftly followed by + 0.7% increase in membership fees tee-hee!)

>Its rained like the last 2 months straight on off every fucking day.
MAKE IT STOP REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

literally any skilled trade. If I started again at 20 and was thinking about trade school, I'd be an electrician

I'm gonna be honest the health and safety here makes me roll my eyes sometimes but it's better than feeling unsafe at work (which used to happen ALL the fucking time)

I didn't know welding was a meme but I'm very flattered user

Come work abroad friendo. You'll like it here

>using "socialism" as a generic bad-connotation buzzword or a slant
Thoroughly. Cucked.

does the united socialist soviet republic have a good track redcord in your eyes?

If your net worth isn't above 5 million and you're saying this shit, you've got your head sooo far up your bosses asshole I bet you can see the back of his teeth

sucks. you should have been a teacher
I work about 3 hours a day monday through friday
weekends off
holidays off
summers off
a bit over 37k a year.
I literally do nothing, I work at an alternative high school where the kids work at their own pace and everything is online. I just trouble shoot. the lessons and everything are already prepackaged.

Most of your ISPs and telecom companies offer that with day one insurance, retirement, and paid sick time

Does France, Norway, Germany or even Britain not?

Workers get bent over in the US, but our fine patriots will be quick to point out that it's for our own good, and we should be grateful for the scraps we are allowed lel. I love the contortions people put themselves into to justify it.

Unions are great for the employees but bad for the consumer.

Europe is weak, divided, and poorer than ever. Their countrys cant even provide protection for their citizens as they get rocked with constant revolts and terrorist attacks. To make this personal, in Britain children are forced to commit state-assissted suicide rather than be treated by other doctors who were never given any power by the voting blocs. Literally tyranny

Remember user, having 4 weeks vacation isn't good for you, it's SOCIALISM!!!

people literally fucking saying that in this thread, it's blowing my mind

>literally any skilled trade
literally no.
I don't know if it's a country-thing, but down here in Israel electricians/welders/whatever start at around 6,000-7,000 shekels and can at best hope to reach 14,000 shekels after some 20 years of experience.
This is when rent alone goes at around 3,500 shekels for a shitty tiny 2-room apartment, food expenses easily reach some 600 shekels per single person and utilities (inc. paying for AC electricy - a MUST!) easily top off 1,000 shekels.

>gay fantasies
Im not suprised your faggot ass calls everyone who calls you idiots out on your greed and sloth gay for their 'boss'. I don't have a boss, and 5 million is pathetic for net worth. But I bet being a tradesman and a migrant worker in an artic colony filled with savages and social justice workers is a great improvement over owning a business.

Who else comfy on 7-7 roster.
>work half the year
>can actually do stuff on time off
>still get all the perks of time off and sick leave.
>take 1 week off get 3.

1 week travel, 3 weeks sitting at home

travelling is a meme

>government then sells everything from the schools to the traffic lights to chinese people

That "info"graphic is biologically wrong. Rabbits are extremely competitive and confrontational amongst themselves. They have strict hierarchies and guard their territories fiercely. Wolves have no sense of loyalty. When food is scarce the packs break up, and it's each wolf for himself until things get better. You know jack shit about nature if you compare animal behaviour with your "political values".

I used to do this in the army. Goddamn I wish I could do that again.
What is your job?

>Program Analyst.

See this is the problem with this bizarre non free capitalism. In a real functioning market you'd have lots of competing small firms and if one felt unsafe they could go elsewhere to a better company easily. But with no investment opportunities and irregular regulations it's big business or bust

Safety regulations are as simple as employees telling their boss that they need more supports to work on a surface safely, or that a machine could be improved with a simple modification to prevent fingers getting crushed. If a boss needs to be told by daddy government to not fuck his employees, he's just going to fuck you elsewhere

[Citation Needed]

>In a real functioning market you'd have lots of competing small firms and if one felt unsafe they could go elsewhere to a better company easily. But with no investment opportunities and irregular regulations it's big business or bust
nah buddy, we now live in the finances reality.
competition is bad for business.

Lol okay. So I said either you were filthy rich or brainwashed, and you're saying you're filthy rich? Congratulations on being ideologically consistent.

I'm not greedy and I'm not a sloth. My life is good. I love my job and I'm good at it. Congratulations wringing millions of dollars out of the United States economy doing... something productive, I'm sure. I'm going to continue doing what's in my best interest (vote democrat by mail lel)

man. did they jew you?

Electrician mine side.

>electricians/welders/whatever start at around 6,000-7,000 shekels and can at best hope to reach 14,000 shekels after some 20 years of experience
Forgot to mention this is BEFORE tax

Funny you dont mention "casual" or "temporary" employment contacts which are all the rage and have zero perks of full time.

Op is a lying faggot. Full time offers are rare these days.

oh yeah, enjoy living with chinks, minority.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to a job fair put on by my states employment security office at a dead mall. I'll see what's there for jobs as its advertised that there are 2000 openings. Not feeling too confident that I'll see anything appealing or that I'd be qualified for since I lack a GED.

BTC is dead m8
The gooks were using it to keep money away from their government but its been shut down now so dont be surprised to see it drop massively in the cmoing weeks

I'm fairly sure they are becoming rare everywhere
