I think the main issue with the series is the main premise itself, the half shinigami/spirits thing. The characters are nice, and the humor mostly works, but it's a fairly generic premise that doesn't grab much attention.

Obviously the show needs more Jumonji.

I wanna help Jumonji with his schemes to do what he wills with Mamiya Sakura.

He deserves the Mamiya Sakura.

I gave up on this show when I read all the chapters that were released and NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENED. Even Ranma 1/2 had more plot development than Kyoukai no Rinne by that point, which is hilarious.
