Forced animation this season Sup Forums?

Still don't get exactly what forced animation is but who cares.

Forced animation is a shit meme by those jealous that their show isn't as fluid

Fluid animation is something you should aim for, not a meme implying something bad

...

I see. Thanks user. But anyway I would like to see some webms with it. I liked the thread yesterday.

Generally animation means to "bring something to life" and generally, how more lifelike/moving/believable something moves, the more 'animated' it is.

I assume forced generally means they bump up they amount of frames to make it seem like it's moving smoother. Essentially the illusion of movement.

This is a good example, the exact same thing couldve been done with around 12 frames, but theres those extra inbetweens that morph into each other.
It's like each of her set poses move into each other than seeming like a constant flow of motion. It's like givinng inbetweens to people who didnt look at how the whole thing would move but just make each frame "morph" into the next, giving the final thing this stiff moving a>b>c>d>e cycle.

...

(cont.)I mean, More frames is BETTER, and Smoother is BETTER, but you need to accomodate for all those extra frames.

More frames means more flaws you'll catch a glance at. And the more stiff and unreal it'll look.

It's like playing a game at HD 60FPS after playing the shit 30FPS version on a console, you can see all the subtle flaws in the motion. Hence why moves so unnaturally compared to something like pic related which manages to look more lively with less frames.

So pose-to-pose with a lot of frames, rather than fast-paced pose to pose like Merrie Melodies?

OH NO YOU DON'T

> moves so unnaturally compared to something like pic related which manages to look more lively with less frames
I disagree. Do you have eye problems?

Forced animation is over animating something to the point that it looks unnatural and non lifelike. I would post examples but I'm on my phone. And it's been a few seasons since I've watched anime.

Holy shit why would anyone think this is ok?

Did they use dudes for that

It's the animation equivalent of over acting.

Because it was a joke in the show. Out of context it's just forced animation.

Within context it is as well youtube.com/watch?v=Ru5EKWP25FY

Like this one

Negatory.

Theres barely overlapping motion
No overshooting from when she pushes forward, no anticipation for her moment
She shifts back and forth like a robot

She's practically moving on straight lines.

Theres no slowdown when she thrusts forward after moving so quickly.
She immediately shifts her head down
Moves and morphs from one post to the next.

Theres so many flaws in this its ridiculous.

It moves well and it's well drawn, but shit, with the extra inbetweens it's honestly just breakdown frame porn, the exposition being told through each frame doesnt need all those extra breakdowns.

If you can't see any of this, then I believe you've ever seen how things actually move in life.

This one is actually really well animated.

It's rather exagerrated for the style its in and the speed of which the frames move is sporadic, seemingly moving at brisk single takes or slow doubletakes and even super slow triples.

I'd say if it all moved consistently, it'd be fine, otherwise it does look pretty over-the-top.

You forget that is the joke of the clip though, it's done that way on purpose and thus not really a good example of forced animaiton

I don't understand the joke.
Please, provide me some insight.

"They try so hard to animate us, even though there's so little to animate!"

The girls are talking about why their manga got animated, how it's probably boring to watch, how the jokes won't work well in the medium etc. Then Kukuru freaks out and tells them to not say those things because

Well, shit. I didn't know. I guess that does make sense.

Consider me baited and hooked then.

It will never not be painful to watch this one. What were they thinking?

What did you think about the fluid animation in MGK?

Sakuga is overrrated. It's like CGi in films.

This looks like it was fun to animat-

>0:09
OH GOD WHY DOES THIS HURT TO LOOK AT

It's good but completely gives up about caring about any model at all

>he hasn't watched Joshiraku

It's for people who are too stupid/lazy to properly articulate why they don't like certain parts of animation, so they just use a buzzword that says basically nothing.

No, the term was invented roughly around the time when people started getting annoyed at "forced drama".
It was a jab at people using buzzwords without second-guessing them.

I'm sure it was, but similar to other terms originally used ironically many people actually start using them to seriously desribe things.

Didn't this happen with "artificial difficulty" on that other shitty board?

Is that from idolmaster?

It's so obvious when the sakuga specialist was done with his job on that scene.

I remember that scene, idol masters. It stood out WAY too much.

way too much rotating and zooming in an out just for the sake of more animation, it is hard to follow the action

>Didn't this happen with "artificial difficulty" on that other shitty board?
I don't know, but I independently reached the term when describing certain games and I am not using it ironically either.

>:06 looks like she is about to land, you can see the building off on the side
>Suddenly she's hundreds of feet in the air
Yep, that's when the sakuga ended and weebshit happened.

Rough as hell, but I loved it. It's a shame the show sucked, despite the fun protagonist.

IT FINDS A WAY!

Forced animation is what you say when you hate a show that has good animation, but can't find any actual reason to hate it. Don't forget about this OP because it's pretty useful

Some guy there really loves the Itano Circus

A few scenes in Kiznaiver had really shitty movement for characters that looked fake and trying too hard. Especially scenes with the lesbian and her fuckbuddy.

Also that conrevo one, I know you know which one I'm talking about.

its so smooth it's unnerving.

You know when someone makes fun of someone else's spelling or grammar in order to avoid a valid counterargument? "forced animation" is Sup Forums's version of that

Fucked off with that forced grammar, your post on a whole would be much better and natural if you didn't force your grammar

>"forced animation" is Sup Forums's version of that
No, it isn't.
For one thing, ad hominems are used aplenty around here, most commonly in the form of associating somebody with other boards or web communities.
And for another, forced animation is not taken seriously as criticism by anybody that should be taken seriously.

There a really great exemple of Forced Animation that is undeniable, someone just need to post the webm here.

It's from Luck & Logic, that hooded girl eating the karaage.

That was just an animator fucking around to a great result. I bet he loved Koufuku Graffiti.

>It's from Luck & Logic, that hooded girl eating the karaage.
I loved that little girl

>shrimps on pizza
>cheese in crust
>redhead

...

I think it's funny that people imply that this is over animated when it isn't the animation but the ridiculous overacting that makes this so painful to look at
You could've given it twice the frames but with very little, more "realistic" movement and it would have looked just fine

>didn't even invite me to the orgasm

I can't help but imagine them shallowing semen

Worst choice for reaction image I've seen in almost a week.

>getting triggered by of Fate reaction image

That's why i saved this shit

I'm pretty sure that was the entire point of the show.

It's not the fact that it's Fate.
It's the fact that it's Mr Dense that makes it a stupid choice.

...

Ok user.
I'm gonna kill myself for dishonoring the Mighty Shitposting League.

Imagine if she were human and just started nodding at you while rapidly blinking and changing facial expressions, you'd be freaked the fuck out if you were real

I would already freak out by people who smile while closing their eyes.

Which anime is this?

>Still don't get exactly what forced animation is but who cares.
It's the anime version of overacting

I forgot the name.
The anime where that one dyke visits a new school and wants to build a lesbian harem, but every girl dismisses her because her powerlevel is so low.
Then she finds her waifu but has no luck swooning her either. So she teams up with some random tsundere and enters the tournament. Through winning the tournament, she saves the school and proves her strength thereby realizing her harem + top waifu.

It aired a few seasons ago.

mikagura gakuen kumikyoku

wow I learned something useful on Sup Forums. doe this happen on other boards?

>I learned something useful on Sup Forums.
From this thread?

maybe useful is a bit much but yes

...

Use punctation.
Capitalize your sentences.

Holy shit you guys are CONSCIOUSLY TRYING TO MAKE SENSE OUT OF A PURPOSEFULLY NONSENSICAL MEME even though you know it's supposed to be bullshit.

Holy fuck. I bet you're doing this just so you can have one more type of bad thing to say about shows you don't like.

You read "forced animation" and thought "huh, that sounds like something I could type to make myself sound smart when I criticize a show". So now you're doing this little brainstorming to figure out how to legitimize the use of a phrasing that makes no sense.

Wow.

>i was the only person on Sup Forums that liked this show when it was airing

Your criticism is not coherent.

Once people have made sense out of a term, that term is a valid part of their vocabulary (among people who use the same definition).

No, you were not.

What's so nonsensical about it? Obviously they just mean it has more animation than it needs to effectively convey the scene, or even to the point where it's unappealing because the extra frames look bad.

Yes, user Sensei.
I'm sorry user Sensei

What the hell this looks so fluid.

is this forced animation?

The guy who made that webm used SVP so it's interepolated to 60fps

I'm criticizing you as persons. You have to be the pettiest pieces of shit to devolve time and effort to such a fruitless activity.

Don't try to pretend that you've ever been bothered by animation looking too fluid, even if it's out of place or unrealistic it still has a nice hypnotic quality.

>people actually think that interpolation looks good

I use it just to be rid of the terrible 5fps panning studios seem to love.

It's absolutely impossible to have animation that doesn't look good. You might be bothered by how unnatural you might find something, or some animation in particular might make you feel uncomfortable, but no animation can ever be worse than not having animation.

>Implying you get any more detail from the panning
>implying it's doing anything other than smearing like the shit you smeared on your wall.

I thought someone from Sup Forums would love 60fps.

>someone from Sup Forums
No.

You're certainly acting like one.

Did you even read my post?

>it has a nice hypnotic quality.
>this makes up for being out of place or unrealistic

Nice opinion friend.

Nobody believes in forced animation until they see it for themselves

Forced animation or a happy animator drawing his fetish?

Interpolation is a meme that is cancer and deserves ridicule.

Wow great argument, user. You really got me with those spicy opinions.

Wow great meme, user. You really got me with those spicy memes.

Simply, you cannot get more information out of the original image than there was to begin with, and interpolation fools retards into thinking it enhances the video with "more stuff to look at".

>you cannot get more information out of the original image than there was to begin with
No one is claiming this

>interpolation fools retards into thinking it enhances the video with "more stuff to look at".
They think it makes it a lot smoother, which it does.

It's not about information, it's about smoothing. Hurr durr.

That show barely had any budget, so I bet an animator decided to fuck around because he enjoys cute girls eating and there wasn't much else to use money on that episode. Of course some faggots needed to complain because they're gay

This isnt forced animation, its just poor design.

Just put the food in your fucking face.

>No one is claiming this
>from the source svp:
>It increases the frame rate by generating intermediate animation frames between existing frames in order to produce very smooth, fluid and clear motion.
>Clear motion

Anyways, if you look at any scene transition, or any large motion too fast for SVP, you can see the smearing of colors, objects, etc. and "between" those frames, it looks like ass

I'd show it to you with a custom video, but I am too lazy to make a vm, and install the software for it. So have a screenshot of the webm instead
