ITT: opinions about anime so unpopular that if you ever posted them on Sup Forums you'd probably get killed for it

I'll start:

I thouroughly enjoy all the battle harems we get wach season, I think they are good anime and I hope we will get even more of them.

madoka and all its films have fine enough animation but the story and characters and writing in general aren't good at all by any measure and everyone who went crazy about praising it in reviews were just a bunch of people who were unaware of the simple trope of just throwing 'dark' to things that aren't usually dark. HEY WHAT IF "DARK" + "MAGIC GIRL" that's all they did and jesus shaft seems to hire a nothing but a bunch of pretentious writers who think they understand the entirety of life and social dynamics after reading maybe the wikipedia article of Nietzsche. It will appeal to idiots who have no eye for quality though and are easily impressed by simple tricks of combining things that are OPPOSITES WOOOO WHAT IF WE MADE A METAL BAND BUT IT PLAYED POP MUSIC.

Anyways, what else. Attack on Titan had an interesting enough premise, as in what if you took the greek mythological age of the war with the race of titans and turned it into a human reality, but the whole thing seems to have devolved into some kinda hybrid between torture porn and super edgy fan fic tier drama. There is no substance to it. It's just a bunch of situations where the author is trying to get at TRUE DESPAIR without having any other narrative objective. You know, like an angsty teen. Also what the hell is up with the art in manga?

The last good anime was ttgl.

>I thouroughly enjoy all the battle harems we get wach season, I think they are good anime and I hope we will get even more of them.

BROTHER!

I wish eva fans would make a general thread, so I can filter it, and not keep having to hide their stupid shit everytime. It's always" What the fuck did I just watch?".

I unironically like Elfen Lied and I think it's a shame that the full manga wasn't adapted, because the only things really wrong with it were cheap animation and a terribly inconclusive anime-only ending.

It might be far too edgy for most people to take seriously, but it's also a series with a surprisingly credible universe which manages to at least touch on a whole load of interesting ideas and themes such as the morality of guiding the evolutionary future of mankind, of augmentation, and of gun control.

A lot of people dismiss Elfen Lied as being riddled with plot holes, and more often than not those very same 'plot holes' turn out to be perfectly easy to explain.

>I thouroughly enjoy all the battle harems we get wach season, I think they are good anime and I hope we will get even more of them.

Same here. Watching battle animes is like watching Mexican soap operas, they are all alike but they never stop being entertaining. The problem is that some retards have very high expectations from chinese cartoons when literally all you have to do is watch and enjoy.

>The problem is that some retards have very high expectations from chinese cartoons when literally all you have to do is watch and enjoy.
It's not about having unrealistically high expectations. I saw an episode of Asterisk War expecting some sort of cliched bullshit with cute girls and swords that I could at least enjoy the stupidity of, but it was such a broken and LAZY clusterfuck of plot holes that I couldn't even enjoy it in that way.

Some people have standards, and when you have standards, you can't enjoy something which is taking up the time you could have at the very least spent watching something else.

Western cartoons are superior to anime

I like Akame ga Kill more than Hunter x Hunter.

i only watch anime because unlike 3dpd series and movies, it looks too silly to be annoyed by bad acting and dialogs, forced drama, inconsistencies in plot etc

NGE was poorly written and executed, and Shinji is a terrible character.

Man there is some truth being dropped in this here thread.

Except this, this is just a terrible opinion

The main problem it suffers from (and Kabaneri suffers from the exact same thing but worse) is that it's essentially a 'zombie' series that takes place after the situation has become stable again, which means that you practically need to inject some desperation (out of food!) or stupidity (whoops some idiot let a threat into the city) into the narrative if you want to recreate the sense of danger because there's often no good reason for those people to not simply lock themselves away from the threat.

>I thouroughly enjoy all the battle harems we get wach season...
They're alright for when I want some light entertainment. It's too bad all the MCs from each one are a copy and paste, though.

I enjoy creative camera work and artstyle to a far greater extent than engaging plot

>It's too bad all the MCs from each one are a copy and paste, though.
That'll never change. Deliberately not giving the MC a personality is a choice made to appeal to self-inserters, and they make up almost the entire population of battle-harem fans.

I'm the opposite! I'll put up with obnoxious CG and uninspired visual direction any day if it also has an engaging plot with some real thematic depth (pic related).

SnK's a Japanese Mein Kampf. The race of pure humans are threatened by the subhuman menace who deny them their lebensraum and herded into cities away from their rightful land. The hero is a young human who joins a scout party that sets out with the vanguard party led by an aryan superhuman to win the space they need to survive back from the titan/slavs, all while carrying a taint within himself (Hitler's jewish grandparents)

Oh and Urobutcher does understand the entirety of life.

>Urobutcher does understand the entirety of life.
Don't give me that nonsense. He was responsible for the pretentious trainwreck Psycho Pass, which confused entirely avoidable retardation for the moral liminality of autonomous policing.

I think GTO is garbage. The only tolerable parts are one chapter in every 10-20,where unizuka helps one of his students, the rest is unfunny trash.

sure thematic depth is a good thing but there's this limit of themes anime touches and few series manage to push it further, usually relying heavily on Western philosophy (something butchering it in an amusing manner)

meanwhile memorable direction of visuals (music as well, but I'm atonal as fuck) will stay with you regardless, especially considering that anime is a visual medium

Shippo is the best character in inuyasha.

>there's this limit of themes anime touches and few series manage to push it further
That might be part of why it's such a big deal for me when I find a series which does manage to push the envelope and raise interesting questions which I haven't seen raised before.

For example, Gakkougurashi shows a dynamic contrast in Yuki and Miki's perceptions of the same events unfolding to examine not just the cons, but also the pros, of constructing a deliberate false perception of reality. From there, questions are brought up about the nature of escapism (and how that is reflected in the viewer's own use of anime for escapism), cult as the beginning of culture, the natural formation of groups into proto-family units in times of strife, and more besides.

>memorable direction of visuals will stay with you regardless, especially considering that anime is a visual medium
I think my memory me be more lingual than visual in some respects, because I don't really have that same experience. I remember moments in stories that really shook me, and those are often moments that had great visual direction, but I don't tend to associate the memorability of those things as always necessarily being the result of the visual direction itself.

Your Attack on Titan commentary is ridiculously sensible.

Like I don't know why you think it would be seen as trolling.

NGNL had some really clever twists and a gorgeous aesthetic. I don't mind it even though it's literally a mary sue battle harem at heart, thanks to the 'battles' actually being inventive gambles: unlike with, say, swordfighting, each 'battle' in NGNL feels unique, and that's a really big deal.

I unironically like Keit-ai. I wish it were real.

Psycho pass was hardly even his worst offender, Kikokugai was some real garbage writing.

The only thing he was involved in that I thought was good was Madoka, and that's probably because I'm a sucker for magical girl shows to begin with.

Same here

And this is prime example someone has very high expectation from battle harem show, what a retard

>calls someone else a retard
>doesn't know how to use determiners
You're a waste of trips.

>ITT: opinions about anime so unpopular that if you ever posted them on Sup Forums you'd probably get killed for it
B-but user, aren't you and the others posting those unpopular opinions that might get you killed if you ever posted them on Sup Forums right now on Sup Forums?

ep 25+26 of evangelion was better than EoE.

Loli and yuri are bait added to struggling shows to try to boost sales. Any studio that does this is irredeemable.

You do know that these elements have to be included in the planning phase, don't you? Because by the time people can see that a show is struggling, doing well or terrible, production on a new anime has already begun.

>I'll start

Woah how gracious of you

bump

>my memory might*

anime is for losers/autistics/manchildren

If you don't want to be that guy, i suggest you quit anime

I genuinely believe that people who like traps are faggots.

Yeah, this. Don't need 3-4 Eva threads up at once. Just make one thread that lasts forever and get it over with.

i actually really like season 2 of darker than black, and consider the whole anime as one of the best ever made

I liked SAO.

I don't watch anime anymore but still come on Sup Forums for the fun and laughs

Makoto Shinkai should make something out of this.

death note is good
code geass is good

>I genuinely believe that people who like traps are faggots.
Isn't that common knowledge?

What's a battle harem

Have you not read Saya no Uta yet?

>What's a battle harem
Bland self-insert gary stu MC arrives in highschool/fantasy/mmo setting and is (or quickly becomes) the best and most powerful fighter/magician/gamer around, and finds himself surrounded by a combination of childhood-friend/tsundere/kuudere/dandere/imouto who all lust after his dick.

>Saya no Uta
Most people seem to think that's his best work if anything.

>death note is good
>code geass is great
ftfy

I see.

And what does kuudere mean again?

Imagine Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion. That's not important though. Point is the protagonist finds themselves surrounded by a harem of girls who have at most 2-3 defining traits, one of which is that they're in love with the protagonist.
