More remakes of old 80s and 90s manga

Flame of Recca when?

More fujoshit anime.

bolder eyebrows

It's a question whether they'll be able to systematically profit from the fujobait "comedy" genre (Gintama, Osomatsu, South Park) like they did with moe SoL.

More bait threads.

Kill me. So awful.

Fujoshits only have enough money to buy one anime a season though.

Saged for shit bait try harder next time.

Fuck off.

Akatsuka Cinematic Universe. All the series get modern updates and take from all their adaptations. A movie may be in the works.

Not much, imo

Maybe Machiko-sensei will get a modern adaption.

I still wished they never gave the brothers defining traits instead went by personality and voice. I could see so many people dropping Ichi and Kara as their favorite because they lose their appeal.

More reference Anime

More appreciation of fujo power, alongside a willingness to stop serving up generic prettyboys.

I'm sure that two other brothers would take their places as juggernauts in that universe.

I feel Ichi would still have the same strong following, since a lot about him is conveyed through body language and expression.

I don't recall any references past the first couple of episodes before they got a slap in the face with copy right. Hopefully they steer clear of it.

Ending the reign of generic prettyboys is like trying to stop the torrent of cute girls. If anything, this will at least inspire some variation in prettyboy personality, because girls tend to pretty up the characters anyway.

...

That doesn't actually look too bad on Juice.

I can't understand these anime sales. 70k sounds like fucking nothing. Does the studio only net like 10 dollars off each sale?

am I one of the only people that do not see that appeal in this? this show is pretty damn popular from what I can tell but watching 3 episodes, I don't really like it.

Fuck off with your tumblr shit

Fuck, didn't see this thread. Sorry. Stop forgetting the subject you dinguses. We get posts like these Anyway I posted some stuff here but I'll crosspost the important parts and let that thread die if you guys insist that this one should be the Oso thread for today:

Notes on Hesokuri Wars Update
> hesokuri-wars.tumblr.com/post/145474848810/updates

Sorry for how long chapter 12 took. I can't say it was a very interesting or inspiring one.

70k per volume.

Ichi was practically destined for popularity by his character design alone.

>F6 chapter
Thank you for your hard work despite this.

I don't understand how this is so popular.

Granted, the first episode was quite good with all the modern references, but then it went down the typical "straight man-funny man" route that most Japanese comedy takes. What the hell makes this so different?

Actually, that was a lot better than I expected of F6, so thanks again. The meta gags about the manga style were kind of funny.

> but then it went down the typical "straight man-funny man" route that most Japanese comedy takes

Maybe closer to the start, but the format loosens up quite a bit further down the line and becomes a more free-form gag comedy. Less reliance on the tsukkomi/boke bit and more focus on the absurdity of the situation(s). The character originally designated as the show's straight man reveals himself to be a posturing piece of shit later as well.

But the manzai style is still always going to be prevalent in any Japanese comedy and it's never going to be to all Westerner's tastes.

>old 80s and 90s
>80s and 90s
>old

Osomatsu-kun was from the 60s, you underage twat.

Now this I can get behind.

>why does a Japanese audience like Japanese humor

They stop using that formula so often as things go on, once the characters have been established enough for their dysfunctions to play off one another. It's a staple of the genre and it never goes away entirely, but I guess it's just an accessible way for its intended audience to start the show with.

Try watching more than five episodes and see for yourself.

Popular on Sup Forums, not Japan, jackass. Nips have shit taste, this is obvious from the beginning of time.

>Popular on Sup Forums, not Japan, jackass.
Well then you should have specified that you goofball

We have shit taste too. :^)

More seriously, I think everyone has things they enjoy lightheartedly. I don't really buy into this idea that every little thing someone indulges in/enjoys has to be a 10/10 revolutionary piece of cinematic literature or something.

It's so advance it's the first to satire Keit-ai.

A boy falls in love with his bros.

Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with his bros phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls them, and is overjoyed to find out that they have a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to his bros, they only look at him with perplexed expressions. After some investigation, he finds out that the bros he called is not the same bros he fell in love with. In fact, they don't exist in this universe at all. They are the bros' alternate universe counterparts, who have fallen in love with Osomatsu's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of his crush.

Hijinks ensue as everyone strikes up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip all with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of BROS before HOES.

How many times are you gonna make me read this user.

A SEASON 2, MAYBE?

It took me a bit to figure out they were doing manga jokes.

I'll keep hoping and hoping and dying on the inside.

I don't understand why Totoko didn't think that Shoujo things would happen to her, given that she's an "average, normal, everyday high school girl". If anything, she would have tried to invoked Shoujo events by trying to be the most normal girl in the class.

In any case, I was sort of impressed at this chapter for going with something different.

I realized that in this black and white format, I can't tell the F6 brothers apart from each other worth a damn.

The muppet versions way more distinguishable from one another (when you remove the colors from F6), somewhat surprisingly.

>They managed to look more like sextuplets than sextuplets can
Truly the kings of one-upmanship.

I can't find an argument.

They're still uggo and boring.

F6 is actually tolerable in the manga, color me fucking shocked. I never would have dreamed they'd ever be anything other than awful.

I'm grateful the full scale posters never end.

love shit sold more and didnt influence jackshit. fujomatsu is getting forgotten soon, fortunately.

I'm not sure any part of this is accurate.

> love shit sold more and didnt influence jackshit

I feel like it brought the idol genre more to the forefront, and it's also sort of funny to say that in an Osomatsu thread when the first episode of Oso was very much spoofing Love Live (but also with an otome game bent/references to Uta no Prince Sama).

> fujomatsu is getting forgotten soon, fortunately

Maybe, but if you asked me how it's influenced the industry's/distrubutor's outlooks, I'd say that it's made them much more positive about the idea of bringing back old school shows and experimenting with art styles.

The reason I think that is that Miss Machiko (also a showa-era series that was produced by the very same studio that made Ososan) is apparently getting a full proper english sub now.

FINDS

Threadly reminder that you should stop posting that because it's a thing.

fictionpress.com/s/3206139/1/

Loveshit also only pandered to the otaku audience as opposed to a much wider audience like Osomatsu.

The thing about Osomatsu was that it might pander to fujoshit but it was meant for general audiences from otaku to normalfags alike(and massively succeeded in being watched by both) and it
was based off of an old and famous existing series which means no one is about to forget about it.

What this means for the anime industry aside from realizing that fujoshits like crazy assholes more than straight up mass produced bishie trash and attempting more remakes I have no idea.

Pazzmatsu maintenance is over and the game can be updated.

If anyone can rip all the sprites like last time, that'd be tops.

BINDS A BAY

I just hope they limit themselves to 12-26 episodes per year.

As much as I'd be disgustingly happy about it, despite Osomatsu-san's resounding success, it probably won't turn into an anime that keeps coming back with another season every year or two and ends up with like 10 seasons.

It never happens to any anime I like.

Hell, we're not even sure if there's any plan for S2 any time after Classicaloid.

Ichi was literally based on a friend of one of creators, to the point other people who knew him could easily tell he's supposed to be that guy.

Influence? Nope.

It was a good anime but I don't think it was big enough or really THAT good enough to influence stuff.

Hopefully it creates more comedy.

I really wonder how that guy feels about that.

Especially how well received the character based off him is with women.

im tired of seeing this fagboi everywhere

You really are stupid, aren't you?

...

they would want to try doing a new urusei yatsura anime to see if it can do the same or close to it

Looks like rape

A, user-kun, tell me how to use this, pls.

This meme makes no goddamn sense

Would you?

How so?

...

What even am I looking at here?

I'm not on about sales, I shouldn't have said big.

I mean I don't think it was unique enough to spawn copies or rip offs of it.

I'd say they have the advantage of being on home turf this time. Shoujo parodies usually fare better when they're written by someone who's written it enough. Plus they did something beyond rehashing the same "These guys are absolutely ridiculously perfect" joke that was done in a lot of the episode's they starred in.

hate the art style. I watch anime for detail not to see cartoon level shit

Water bottles, I assume.

Osoko can't catch a break.

Doesn't prove anything. Fujos got into Happy Tree Friends too, and look what that resulted in.

Besides, Osomatsu is still collaborating with "mass-produced bishonen garbage" like YumeCast because they know the staying power behind the archetypes that drive them nuts. They showed them that a little variation is key to success. Make them all unrepentant assholes, but at least have a little of the tried and true to go with it.

Still a stupid comment, what series do you know like it? It's obviously unique considering it managed to zero in on exactly what fujos want better than any other series has and did it with some of the least bishounen character designs possible.

But if the industry is smart they'll see that copying it won't work, and it was successful because it was something new and different.

Holy shit

Somebody rip these sprites REEEEE

How much influence does Gintama has?

>I mean I don't think it was unique enough to spawn copies or rip offs of it.
You sure about that?

animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2016-03-05/upcoming-bishonen-game-suspiciously-involves-sextuplets/.99426

Gintama's TV anime never averaged 70k copies.

That's not even subtle.

That one was taken down because they tricked the artist into thinking it was a matsu fangame or something.

Karamatsu Boi

You can practically hear the staff say to themselves "this is what fujos want right? right?". Hesowars is still the best.

Kill yourself ,fujo fangirl.

Hesowars has the best sprites/character designs and gameplay, I just like the Pazzmatsu art.

Series 2 has a huge focus on Kara though, since all the characters have a version in his clothes and then a "Painful" version (themselves with spangly clothes and their own face printed on there and such).

The ones I wanted to see haven't been uploaded by many people yet, but I noticed Todomatsu has one with Atushi, on the subject of what fujos want.

Do you really think Karamatsu is popular because he has eyebrows? I think he's really relateable, and I'm sure plenty of other people do, too.
