When did you realize that out of literally 100+ anime made every year only 1~3 on average have an actual plot + actually good, and that the rest of the anime that airs is complete garbage made for wotaku and chuuni kids?

when i was also a 300 year old japanese salty faggot with erectile dysfunction

Immediately, i can't understand people that watches or cares about anime seasons, it's all trash.

I learned that most people who follow Sturgeon's Law are usually the kind of losers who never have any friends, let alone people around them, just for how much of a salty, slimy, pedantic and removed fucktard they are and that they turn to the internet for any sembalance of human contact.

Also Miyazaki is the kind of shithead that would bite his own hand that fed him and blame the dog for it.

Years ago

Who the hell watches anime for the plot?
Is all about cute, relax and girls

You could say the same thing about Hollywood.

I think you fail to understand that various genres of anime pander to different demographics and audience.
Not everybody wants to watch a serious anime with deep plot, some just wants a mindless moeshit because the characters are cute and it's light overall with pretty animation.
Unfortunately for us, Japan is far away, and the anime industry there depends on the domestic anime fanbase, that from what I've been told, are mostly otaku that care more about the latter.
I think they're playing safe and just try to pander to what they know will work in the market and you cant blame them for that.

33% is actually too high
out of the ~45 shows each season maybe 5-10 are ok from a more or less objective point of view, nonetheless the others might be good enough for you too if you like the genre, studio, setting etc... for me personally it just depends on how much time i make myself for watching anime, whats airing and if i want to watch more seasonal or backlog shows, last seasons i watched about 12 shows, this season only 3 but watch a lot backlog stuff, next one i start with 17 shows which look interesting (i started last season with 24)

>tfw you realize you're no longer the demographic for 99% of anime

>If I don't like it, nobody should like it.

OP in a nutshell.

Miyazaki made some shitty disney-tier movies so his opinion means absolutely nothing, especially when he's not familiar with the current otaku culture.
Anyone that takes this salty old fart seriously is either an old faggot himself or an opinionless nerd playing patrician.

>disney-tier

Old disney will forever be the best of the best when it comes to animation, it will never be topped

He didn't mean 1/3, he meant between one and 3. 3 out of 100.

>ld disney will forever be the best of the best when it comes to animation

Old Disney is shit that has already been surpassed in terms of animation.
Take your nostalgia glasses off once in while atleast.

Just go watch any old disney cartoon
The characters move so much and are so expressive is insane, japanese animation is a powerpoint presentation by comparison

Are you happy?
If not, you are still a prime demographic.
Otherwise why do you even care?

hold the fuck up, i can't stand miyazaki but old disney is god-tier

>Just go watch any old disney cartoon
>implying i didn't grew up watching disney

Comparing the best of Disney with the average slice of life in terms of animation means nothing.
Also when the "expressive" animation is ruled out, the only thing that remains are blunt and uninteresting story and comedy aimed at children without any variety.
My original argument stands still. Miyazaki is a ripoff of an archaic style of animation and the creator of films that don't directly correspond with the otaku culture which he loves to criticize despite being a complete outsider at this point.

You can't stand Miyazaki because he is a pretendious copy of Walt Disney.
Whether disney is god-tier or not is your opinion which i respectfully disagree.

When I started to watch shit from the 80's, then I moved down the 70's and 60's and learned to love the episodic hijinks. Even Anno has a soft spot of cutie honey, user.

around 2007

big deal fucking faggot
same shit with videogames, movies and western animation and literally anything you can think of

When did you realize Miyazaki only makes Sup Forums so butthurt because he's entirely right?

Not really user. Sometimes people are angry at you just because you are saying dumb shit, not because you are some sort of supreme genius and everyone else is jealous.

People needs to learn to be less savvy, everywhere you go you hear people saying "oh, literature/tv/music/games/cartoons are shit, they don't try" yet oddly you don't see as many geniuses as complainers, who actually make terrible writers and artists in general.

disney's actual animation itself was absolutely unparalleled, but there wasn't as much detail on the characters as japanese animation has
they're 2 different beasts

When there's only max like 5 seasons at best.

Depending on the age of the show can say a lot about it too.

Pokemon DOES have a plot but at the same time moving location like they have does initialize a plot. Yugioh same thing. Being that there are 5 different series in it all does make it different.

Then again this can be said for most Cartoons outside of the anime world as well.

You know what Dragon ball Z is. It's a bunch of Pointless fighting and people screaming. There is no plot to the anime cept "HEY GUYS LETS FIGHT OVER THESE MAGICAL BALLS!"

My question is not that of why people watch anime with no real plot but why people watch anime that is completely pointless and I think it falls down to the answer of the Vine answer.
People don't want to have to pay attention to a plot and remember what's going on. Think about it for a moment. Look at shows like Young Justice and Beware the Batman, they got canceled due to lack of toy sells. For anime, they either make amazing toys/card games or they games. Even then they cut out at some point and say fuck it lets make a new series. Which is why the anime world fucking huge with a bunch of boring anime.

What the fuck are you blabbing about user?

>I don't know how to read a post. It's longer than a tweet it's obv blabbing

When I was around 17. I moved on to manga instead and books. Every once in a while we get a good anime but most of it is shit and I'd rather spend my time reading or being with friends.

You type like a fifteen year old.

The same time I realized that out of the hundreds of films or the countless comics or video games put out every year there's only a handfull that are worth money

So maybe when I was 14

>I don't have an argument so I'm going to call him a teenager instead
damn Sup Forums when I thought you were meh you dropped to even more shit. This is why I don't goto Sup Forums
You people are children fighting with each other and not adults talking about tentacle porn and cute japanese school girls with cat ears and magical powers...

1973 or so.

Pretty much this. Nothing against people who enjoy anime but I can only watch something that has already proven that it's not absolute shit, otherwise the chances of said anime being shit are extremely high.
I can't even remember when was the last time I watched a brand-new anime that was actually worth watching on release.

Same here.
What I've done is basically diversify what I watch. Sometimes anime sometimes manga or books or movies or go out with friends. This method I'll always have gems to go back to.

Anime girls are cuter thiese days.
That alone makes anime after 2000 objectively better than what came before.

Pretty soon after I got through the entry level shit and started following seasonal anime.

>only 1~3 on average have an actual plot + actually good
As some people mentioned earlier in this thread, in almost every form of entertainment like films, Tv, video games and others the majority of material produced in a year is shit or at least unremarkable with only a few examples being actually good. The problem is the amount of good shit is extremely low in anime (not as low as capeshit though) you can find about half a dozen good movies/video games per year while in anime the number is even lower. Manga is usually better though.

I smell pasta.

Your earlier post clearly started partway into a paragraph that you never gave a beginning to and, for some reason, has multiple linebreaks between each sentence. It's horrible to read.

protip: you never were

>anime that airs is complete garbage made for wotaku and chuuni kids?
SUPER MATURE THREAD WARNING

This thread is only for Anime Professionals who exclusively watch Mature & Sophisticated animes like Cowboy Bebop and Eva.

This thread is not to be enjoyed by people who like MOESHIT and HAREMSHIT and other unprogressive and tasteless genres.

>read the rest on my blog, anime-gourmand.tumblr.com

Pretty much ever since ttgl aired anime has never been able to reach that apex.

>i
>people that watches
Calls anime trash while using the grammar of an eight-year-old.

I'll try to fix what I mean then:

People don't want to watch anime with a plot, just as much as any show on TV in general and not something we have to stream/download.

People want to watch shit with no real plot. Like a Vine clip.

I've realized that if you open yourself up to every possible type of anime, you'll end up with at least 4 shows you truly want to watch. It's garbage but you'll at least watch it once a week. That's all seasonal fodder is for.

Makes me happy. I love that stuff. Keep it coming, Japan.

Exactly, and I think That's partially because so much manga is produced that there's a filter in translated manga. So we're getting probably the more high quality manga than the nips are getting.

About the same time I realized that every medium is that way. In film, live-action television, literature, video games, comics and western animation, only one in twenty is good.

>implying haremshit is any good on any degree

Well you are right, South Parks "You are getting old" episode covered this perfectly.

youtube.com/watch?v=ZbJ7PUYFQD8

We didn't choose to have taste, sometimes I wish I could enjoy the garbage you call entertainment.

Same can be said of books, tv, movies. Any medium only has a small fraction be 'above average'. Many are competent at reproducing something that's been done before (comedies, romcoms etc) because the formula just werks.

'Good' is hard to define, as said many thinks are just okay, they perform their task, they just don't go that step further to impress you. Anime is no different.

Seriously, these guys come off as normalfag casuals.
I wouldn't be surprise if the have only watched 30 shows and thinking they're elitists or some bullshit.
The same happens to music "patricians" who only know of Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin or Beatles and claim that music after 80's is shit even though they're completely noobies with only a shallow understading of underground art.

Fortunately you can usually tell if it's going to be shit, that's why people drop shows.

But there's nothing like experiencing a good show while it's airing. Every season is a hunt.
