Goshogun, if I remember correctly.

Astroboy I guess. Barely have memories of the series.

It was either Sailor Moon, DBZ, or Pokemon
Boring answers, best I can give. I do have many vivid memories of just sitting and watching anime though.

Probably Pokemon. First anime that wasn't pokemon was Yu Yu Hakusho.

Also, isn't that character from Little Nemo, which is just Japanese animated, and should that count? Because then I would say the German dub of Maya the Bee.

I'm sure I watched other anime in TV before, but my first memory is a VHS of Captain Harlock.

The amazingly bad dub of the Fatal Fury movie

>tfw only saw this dubbed

Isn't it an American Japanese coproduction and the english dub is the original?

Samurai Pizza Cats

Pokemon or Yugioh
Don't remember which came first, but I watched them a lot

It was either Cat Girl Nuku Nuku or Ranma 1/2 OVA's. I was 4, so the memories are a little vague.

It was either Mako the Mermaid in Love or Zamed the Magic Goblin (that was how they were called in my country)

I'm curious how the nip version is, just not 9 gb curious.

This one probably

This.

Yeah same here I guess, Inuyasha is the earliest I remember watching other than astroboy

This. I'm canadian.

Is that Little fucking Nemo?

...

The Dub of Ponyo

I only ever read manga until Sgt. Frog

Shōnen Sarutobi Sasuke.

Took me decades to find the name.

...

Same. I have no idea what even got me started on it.

Either Dragonball or Yu yu Hakusho.

Inuyasha. I felt like such a badass watching it when I was like 7 or whatever.

Same. I remember my dad got a boxed set of the whole series when I was around five years old. I didn't realize it was actually anime until about a decade later.

I watched my uncle's tape of it. I had no idea what anime was but I remember it was way cooler than looney tunes or whatever was on tv at the time.

This and the Little Mermaid anime movie. Those where the shit and it got me hooked on the Disney movie.

youtu.be/rlwueICyUxk?t=3s

Yes it is.

Is Nemo worth a watch?

Probably Fables of the Green Forest. I watched it all the time when I was super little.

Technically, either Mega Man or Sonic. But Little Nemo is the one I remember claiming 'this is different'. And it got me searching for more.

Even as a 6 year old kid, the princess made me feel funny. It was my first experience having a crush on a girl.

Before there was DBZ there was Totoro (my neighbor).

Duck Tales or Darkwing Duck. Because it was animated by a Japanese company.

Spirited Away maybe?

Kimba the White Lion.

>Zamed
Holy shit user, this is the first time I found somebody who watched it.

Speed Racer. It didn't occur to me that it was anime until long after the fact, though.

I watched it too, they were so cute.

I forget, I used to think it was Totoro but never remember seeing the scene when I actually saw Totoro. This was early 94-96ish, it was a movie I think, there's these kids running after this giant floating monster thing, all fluffy, kinda bouncing/floating and kids are going after on this road, holding on to it like it's a balloon, for the most part though it was so long ago I don't really trust the memory to anything that might have been real.

>You will never be abducted via floating airship for the sole purpose of being a loli's playmate

>Never

>Ever

Spanish dub of speed racer or the old Heidi Anime. Didnt really watch them but more of a first exposure to the genre.

Oh thank God I thought I was the only one who watched this and it wasn't a weird dream that this was on TV. I kept thinking my mind made this shit up.

It's probably for the best, really- that loli is, after all, the only child of Morpheus.

My nigga

It was most likely either Dragon Ball Z or Pokémon. The first manga I ever read was most likely a hentai manga.

does Little Nemo count?

them "me bouncies", tho. yes, i know she actually says Nippon Ichi, but still...

The Last Unicorn on casette. Had nightmares about red, fiery bulls for days

I dont remember what it was called but it was about this boy and these weird pearls or orbs or something and this villain guy wants them it was really old and it ended badly for the guy. Anyone know what it was called, there where these ruins and shit.

Same, and still one of my favorites

I'll never understand why, but my father thought renting Akira for a 4 year old boy was okay, so that's that

Got my bedtime moved back a cool 30 minutes to watch this BEAST

>"this here video is drawn, so it's a cartoon. and cartoons are fer kids!"

Dont worry, my mother rented me Golden Boy when i was like 10. Was hooked to anime since.

Based naive mother.

First animu I could remember

>That soothing opening song
>that annoying, stupid butterfly
>suddenly, tits on a murdering vulture (or whatever it was), screaming
>fiery, red bull.
>nightmares for a near full week
>keep re-watching the tape anyway, for that song, and always stop there.

Dragon Ball

You forgot the tits on the tree

Whatever was on TV on the early 90's, although the first anime that I watched knowing it was "anime" and not just another cartoon was Naruto in 2006.

Heidi and mazinger z

The sea of unicorns was one of the most badass thing I saw at that age. Shit was awesome.

Genocyber and Roujin Z back to back.

I didn't know what the fuck was going on.

can't remember for sure, but either the last unicorn or grimm's fairy tale classics

I remember waking up early and watching Tama and Friends a few times. This and Tenchi were my first run ins with anime.

that, I could accept. but 6 tits on that old man/witch/bird thing was too much.

It was either Digimon or that first Transformers anime--the one that came before the Unicron trilogy. Or maybe Ronin Warriors. One of those.

Was sick in elementary school and saw Sailor Moon on in the morning. I was so turned on that I had my first wet dream that night. I then faked sickness so I could watch more episodes, and thats when I started masturbating to everything.

Oh, I remember the OVA series they did in the early 2000s, I was addicted to it. Come to think of it, they also had the Cyborg 009 OVA around the same time. I loved that show too, but my older cousins just made fun of the art style when I tried to get them to watch it.

I got pic related on vhs for my 7th birthday but I cant remember if it was my first or Beast King GoLion(Voltron as it was to me)

You know something, I recall getting a Sailor Moon movie on VHS for my fifth or sixth birthday. One of the previews was for the first Ranma 1/2 movie, the one where the prince in the floating ship kidnaps Akane. In my head this somehow became the biggest fantasy epic about a bunch of heroes rescuing a girl from an evil prince from another world. I remember finally tracking that shit down after I found out what the internet was and being so dissapointed. Just thinking, "wtf this is not what I remember. I spent nights fantasizing about this movie and I get a romcom with fantasy elements?"

I have no fucking clue where I saw this for the first time but when Dexter's Lab parodied it I somehow knew about what they were parodying.

>every teenage male in America between 1997 and 2004
>including me

Oh man, we used to have a tape of the Musicians of Bremen when I was really young.

RE: OP, either Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics or Dragonball. I also remember staying up really late to watch Yu Yu Hakusho and Gundam on Adult Swim when I was very young.

spirited away
god that was creepy when i was like 6.

it wasn't dragonball, it was much older than that. The pearls/rocks whatever sent the guy into this crazy dimension or something and he was trapped forever in the end. He looked like one of those stereotypical explorer guys.

Dai apolon.

Doraemon

Unfortunately, Shaman King on 4kids

>ファミリーパチンコ
Wut

I was nearly 12 when it first came out in NA, but even then parts of it creeped me out.

Robotech in the states.

Anyone else remember feeling embarrassed when this came on, but you watched it anyway?

youtube.com/watch?v=yJTkt14EQxY

Silly gringos. Back then, you watched everything, simply because there wasn't enough of it.

This, so much crap I watched at that time that I never would have touched now.

Oldfag here.

TV shows...probably Battle of the Planets. Followed by Starblazers then Robotech.

First movie...was probably DYRL in 1989...on a friends VHS recording during junior high.

Three years old.

Got me ready for my life.

BOSCO FUCKING ADVENTURE

youtube.com/watch?v=dCM9gjT8tXM

AOTYAY

Ahh, Ninja Scroll. Good times.

It was either Ranma 1/2 or Akazukin Chacha

Same here. Also forgot how I knew about it.
Strange since it seems so tough to find all of it in one place. There are huge gaps in my collection of episodes.

That kiss at the end, under the waterfall.

Right, user?
