Literally nobody wanted this. Fuck Adult Swim so much.

Who cares? None of the staff that gave the show its soul will be there. They're too busy at Trigger doing new things.

Such an empty hust for a revival.

Oh please, FLCL is only popular because of Adult Swim in the first place. They have every right to extend it.

A boy falls in love with a girl

honestly i felt that they could always do more with what theyve done with fooly cooly so far

>FLCL is only popular because of Adult Swim in the first place
And?
>They have every right to extend it
You're missing the point. It doesn't matter who makes it, FLCL does not need a sequel of any kind.

I can't believe they are going to ruin this series.
Nothing good will come from this.

You guys are just being hipsters hating on something before even giving it a chance.

I for one will enjoy more Haruko and Pillows, regardless how much you whine.

i feel like the community should at least try and be optimistic and supportive of this revival. flcl means a lot to a lot of people

>more pillow
He doesn't know

...

>community

Please go

what dont we know, they still together

Holy shit, fuck off.

About fucking up a perfectly selfcontained growing up story with two unwanted and unwarranted sequels just to milk the franchise.

yes, its a community, a lot of people still havent seen flcl

What don't I know?

100%. Big O (the FIRST self-contained story that AS fucked up) deserves season 3 way more than baby's first crazy anime does.

what if its him as a man and applies to us now, staying relevant like it was to us back then

They are not going to work on FLCL 2 buddy, haven't you heard?

No, fill me in.

What's there to "work" on?
Just license a few albums like they did for the first anime. The only original song for FLCL was Ride on Shooting Star.

...

What board did you come from?

i actually just started surfing Sup Forums fellow milenial

u smart

im just saying. a lot of people outside of 4 chan havent seen fooly cooly

But FLCL's soundtrack is literally filled with Pillow's only good songs.

Fuck.

I'll give it a chance
But really now the best case scenario here is that it turns out okay, there's no way it will surpass the original and it's highly likely they're going to totally fuck it up
Basically, the deck is stacked against this

Also why did they already agree to two seasons instead of seeing how one goes before committing to another?

It's going to be shit. When was the last time a sequel that has come so much later been good.
If you say Diebuster I suggest you kill yourself.

I liked the animation and the music but I wasn't super interested in the story of FLCL nor do I want to see a continuation of it.

The answer is never.
Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to watch more anime.

You know, you guys could just NOT watch it

>No Pillows
What's the fucking point of S2, then?

I can see the show becoming some kind of harem with new aliens arriving and wanting a piece of Naota. All the mean while Naota might be still trying to get over Haru.

Or maybe we can get some crazy jump in story progression similar to Gurren Lagann's Cour 2. Maybe something that has to do with the Giant Steam Iron factories and Medical Mechanica.

To expand the deep lore of the FLCL universe

ya im counting on a 19ish to 20 year old Naota.

Tokyo Bambi is good.

Aside from the singer's voice not being as strong, they have like 20 or something albums to get music from.

Hopefully they make stuff similar from their 1998-1999 albums for the show

From what I heard they're following a chick this time round and Haruko infiltrates as her teacher.

>You guys are just being hipsters

Oh fuck off. "Hipster" is such a meaningless buzzword, and you truly are a perfect exemplification of when and why people use it: to disarm dissenters when you have nothing else at hand. It's Sup Forums-tier bullshit.

The first FLCL was such a tight, well-crafted story that it really doesn't warrant a sequel at all. A lot of its charm was due to the nebulous themes and character development, which will surely be lost in the new shows as the writers would have to go into more explicit details about the events and motivations surrounding these characters in order to further establish the world they inhabit. Which is not what FLCL is about at all.

The first set such a high standard that it's almost inconceivable that any kind of follow-up will be anything but a disappointment.

The majority of the talent that made FLCL are no longer in Gainax and after Trigger got funded Gainax has made anything of worth.

What made FLCL so visually erratic was talented animators experimenting and learning to use different digital tools, the new FLCL won't have this genuine trait and anything they do to strike a similar chord in this regard will be forced.

Maybe they could get talented young animators and have then experiment but doubt they will do anything that risky in what is a big project for a studio in life support. We will probably just get a really polished well animated show that will be visually stiff.

Plot wise we may get Naota in high school which will just be more of the same coming of age story with a different taste. Thematically Id prefer a story about Naota as an adult and seeing how he handles it.

My real guess is that we will get Space Dandy 2.0 female version with Haruko going in space adventures. It will be "fun" and well animated and that will be enough for the fanbase that liked FLCL for being so randum.

>Oh fuck off. "Hipster" is such a meaningless buzzword, and you truly are a perfect exemplification of when and why people use it: to disarm dissenters when you have nothing else at hand. It's Sup Forums-tier bullshit.
Well you are already choosing to hate on something you haven't even given a chance. Its not like its radically being changed like the new Ghostbusters or anything.

>the first FLCL was such a tight, well-crafted story

Really? I got the impression that it was anything but and a lot of stuff is left to ones own interpretation. We don't know how the new show is going to be, but you already seem to hate it so even if it turns out alright, it won't matter to you.

>he first set such a high standard that it's almost inconceivable
Its a wacky 6 episode coming of age story with good music. Its not LoGH. Calm down.

I bet you thought Koe no Katachi's serialization was better and more necessary than the oneshot, too.

Space Dandy is still most original than most anime so I'll take it.

Space Dandy was also an artistic endeavor by Watanabe with a studio filled with talent. Current Gainax lacks this two things, when I say it will be SD I mean it will be Haruko in random space adventures but doubt they have the manpower and talent to provide the striking visuals of SD or general creative input.

How bad will the production values be?

>The first set such a high standard that it's almost inconceivable that any kind of follow-up will be anything but a disappointment.

Pessimism is a glass half full of piss. You must like drinking your own hipster flavored piss.

>all the tears over this

>muh community

I'm glad to know there is someone out there more pathetic than I, enough so that they care about some imaginary concept of 'community' they have about an anonymous image board.

You gonna save anime, timmy?

Is it for real?

Holy shit, I've always wished for more but right now I feel It's actually a bad idea. What are the chances it will keep up to original?

You're on the wrong board. AS support group is over here

You both nailed it. The retards who want more of the same work despite having zero idea of the background that made the first title a success is why you have Hollywood constantly making money off shitty sequels and reboots.

Flcl: NTR Edition comming in

better than being a brainless shiteater who gets hyped over brand name and doesnt care about what actually matters.

>In the new season of FLCL, many years have passed since Naota and Haruhara Haruko shared their adventure together. Meanwhile, the war between the two entities known as Medical Mechanica and Fraternity rages across the galaxy. Enter Hidomi, a young teenaged girl who believes there is nothing amazing to expect from her average life, until one day when a new teacher named Haruko arrives at her school. Soon enough, Medical Mechanica is attacking her town and Hidomi discovers a secret within her that could save everyone, a secret that only Haruko can unlock.

theverge.com/2016/3/25/11304134/flcl-anime-new-seasons-2017-cartoon-network-toonami

So same shit, but some young girl is main this time.

So we just pretend sequels never happened, right?

But i'm not hyped you fucking retard, but you can be sure as shit you're not automatically right, hipster-kun.

That's what actually matters.

>Its not LoGH
Fuck off. I can't express how much I hate it when people act like LoGH is some sort of classic anime.

Not gonna watch it regardless.

How the fuck is it going to work with a female main character? The entire point of FLCL was exploring the puberty and maturation of a pre-teen boy.

Some part of me thinks that the AS guys who commissioned it just think of the original as "le wacky japanese cartoon xDDDD" and didn't give one shit about the actual plot.

I hope they don't make it into some kind of lesbian thing.

Bad, like S1.

>When was the last time a sequel that has come so much later been good.
Exodus.

>implying

It had a good start but then the long desert arc was nothing but filler

Female puberty this time?

Adult Naota as love interest, Haruko for the triangle?

I dunno, for a die hard fan It's still like raising zombies of your family and telling you to enjoy time together like you've used to.

instead of boner analogies we will get menstrual ones

>i will overflow
