Should it be legal to fire employees for dying their hair? I told my dad who's the current manager of the workplace that when im manager the first thing im doing is firing anyone with dyed hair because it looks so freaking gay. My dad said you can't do that, i said under the equal employment opportunity act you can fire someone for any reason but race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, etc. I talked to a lawyer and he said it's a legal grey area. It's technically allowed but they could sue in court.
Does Sup Forums think firing employees for dying their hair stupid colours should be allowed?
Why are you so insecure that you need to lash out at others for the mere color of their hair?
Adam Russell
What did he mean by this?
You saying the firing is dumb, or the dying your hair is dumb?
Kevin Lopez
it all depend if your state is right to work or not
Ryder Brooks
Why is a literal Nazi who by ideological assumption is anti-degeneracy defending the most well known symbol of SJW degeneracy in society?
Landon Watson
if it's customer service I certainly don't want a stupid looking faggot like that bagging my groceries in a office I don't give a shit
Brandon Wright
Yes.
Logan Cruz
I remember thus faggot, somehow people were surprised when he "came out."
Gabriel Walker
Whatever that means
Brandon Roberts
Stupid hair colors are a workplace distraction and very unprofessional if they have to deal with customers, so firing or not hiring them in the first place is the best option, as to what their political views are, well doesn't really matter, they get fired for non political reasons so they have no leg to stand on in court. Document everything and act accordingly.
Alexander Scott
Yes. Many places of work have a dress code. That dress code also includes policies on tattoos, and yes, artificial hair color. If it's against company policy to dye your hair a fruity faggy color, than you're going to get fucking fired if you disobey company policy.
Benjamin Howard
I would keep him as my blowjob slave.
Cooper Adams
>cuckistan redditor flag >is also a dyed hair faggot
Alexander Flores
While you should be able to do what you want with your business, I think it's pretty superficial of you to do so. If you hired them and they can do their job competently they why fire them because MUH HAIR COLOUR!?
Evan Smith
Well as a most likely future manager I don't have to spend my time with these stupid ass high-schoolers who probably listen to Metallica and watch edgy anime all day. I am not saying you have to be a Chad, I'm even fine if your awkward or weird, but this is just Wiemar level stupidity.
Liam Butler
>Does Sup Forums think firing employees for dying their hair stupid colours should be allowed?
Depends how low down on the corporate ladder they are Janitors is fine, anyone who represents the company image to the public somehow... well that depends on how the company wants to present itself (including office personnel as clients can be escorted to the boss' office)
Austin Richardson
Yes defiantly,
You should be allowed to have a say in how your business is represented.
Jordan Wright
Make sure your company has a dress code. If not, write one up. Then get everyone to sign off on it.
You can now fire them without the threat of any lawsuits which take both time and money.
John Gray
That too as well. No one over the age of 30 wants to put up with this bullshit
Did you even read
I didn't hire them, im not manager yet. However my dad is the manager, owns like 40% of the company, and says im most likely soon to be the manager, mainly because I actually show up every shift.
Aiden Bell
I don't know, but it should be.
Easton Cruz
Honestly I don't even accept that, janitors can look aesthetic and make people feel more or less weirded out. I'd rather have a janitor that looks like Good Will Hunting than some weird neckbeard with dyed hair.
Joshua Brooks
Largely depends if you're in a Right to Work state or not, legally.
As for my personal thoughts, you're the employer, you should be able to fire anyone for any reason. Literally any reason. It's your business, decision, and risk assumption. Particularly small or single-owner firms.
The entire concept that it's "Illegal to fire someone unfairly" is hilarious and stupid. Individuals should be responsible for entering into mutually beneficial employment agreements, and both parties capable of terminating at-will, because no one is anyone elses slave.
Forcing employers to retain employees on social, moral, or any other grounds, is holding them at legal gunpoint in a way no citizen would or should be okay with. Same thing as legislating redistribution of wealth. Garbage.
Michael Russell
That's a good idea actually
Levi Barnes
Wow, you sound like you'd be an incredible cunt of a boss.
The only thing that matters is a worker's work. I don't care if they're a limbless quadruple amputee who likes to eat their own shit. If they can do the job that they are paid to do, they're fine by me.
>daddy owns the company and is gonna parachute me into a managerial position Yep, I know where this is going. Family businesses are always a clusterfuck.
Adrian Howard
Wish it was socially acceptable to fire people who dye their hair for 'exhibiting faggot beta behavior in the workplace.'
Anthony Powell
P.S. I've worked as a business process analysis consultant for seven years.
Caleb Ortiz
>Should it be legal to fire employees for dying their hair? Yes. I run a business of badass niggers not a circus made of beta male white cucks looking for their next BBC.
Jacob Jackson
You shouldn't hire those retards in the first place. Most people don't just dye their hair in an obnoxious color all of a sudden.
Blake Cox
Tell them it doesnt conform to the dress code and fire them if they dont comply
Angel Nguyen
Just introduce a Dress & Appearance standard in your employee handbook. Copy the military's regulation, then modify the language. In the military, you can dye your hair natural colors, not neon colors etc. Making it company policy, negating the discrimination, then fire everyone who isn't in compliance.
The fag in the picture can still dye his hair, but will have to dye his hair a natural color that conforms with company policy.
Jordan Hughes
I should specify that I was thinking of after-hours janitors, not daytime janitors
Jaxon Perez
He's not doing it since im his kid, im the only one who actually does any work, but that's besides the point. I don't want to work with these freaking weirdos that look like pic related.
Jeremiah Bell
Natural colors is okay. Unnatural colors, however, are not. Anybody ever heard of aposematism? Crazy bright colors = danger. Don't come near that shit.
You shouldn't fire or not hire someone solely based on the artificiality of their hair color, but it sure as fuck should warn you of underlying problems and troubles these people could bring you.
Lucas Martin
>should it be legal to fire your employees for whatever reason you want? Yes.
Robert Walker
The most degenerate thing you can do is pretend you are in charge of anything especially people I hope no one wants to work for you and you go bankrupt you degenerate nigger.
No my hair is my natural colour it just irks me so that you would think you are better than another person you are one of the most degenerate sacks of shit I have seen talking to your daddy about how you want to govern people only to be told by your father he is dissapointed in your fucking retardation.
Brandon Morales
I don't even care about beta behaviour. In fact by definition most men have to be betas since alphas are the ones who are above and beyond. I don't care how social or cool or normal someone is as long as they aren't THIS LEVEL weird.
John Cooper
I have to dye my hair every few weeks thanks to vitiligo. It took almost all of my skin pigment and also took the pigment from my hair. Some therapy managed to give me some skin pigmentation again (basically topical steroids and prescription tanning beds) but my hair is still pale white, not even grey. I started dying it brown, but switched to black as it lasts longer. I have my reasons to dye hair, unlike most people, but thanks to the current popularity with dyed hair it has become a lot more affordable. Long story short, fuck off banwaggoner. It's so obvious you weren't posting here before 2016.
Jose Peterson
Unless you're a tattoo artist, no.
Oliver Nelson
Well considering your reasoning is "because it looks so freaking gay" you best never utter that to anyone. Tatts, piercings and wacky hair colours are so common nowadays to the point where most normal people don't care. If the business is functioning fine now they why intentionally fuck with it? Sup Forums loves to jump to extremes, IE corporate jobs as if 100% of the population is working them. Even corporate positions have been becoming more lax on tattoos and such recently.
Eli Sullivan
Why does it seem like a right of passage when you have a youtube channel to dye your hair a shitty color
Jacob Allen
Focus on more important things. It's not anyone elses fault that you are bald OP.
Matthew Roberts
I never did hire them, im not even the manager yet, im just an employee
I should have clarified. A young man dying their hair anything is weird but to dye it like neon, now you have a problem
i'm going to have a dress code written up
Oh, that's fine
That's what i mean, weird hair colours. Like that bright red, yellow, orange, green, blue, or worst of all pink.
Thomas Long
Yes, HR and Legal will tell you to instead just document every SOP violation to terminate because it is less of a hassle.
Logan Reed
You've a medical reason.
>completely different argument
Colton Reyes
So you can't think you're better than anyone else? Lol so I'm suppose to walk around in life thinking im literally the lowest piece of shit on the planet? What attitude is that?
Liam Ramirez
I've seen some shitty threads before but this one smacks of nothing more than a sequestered life loser pretending people have an iota of concern for their blogging. youtube.com/watch?v=wxxrUz4I3EA
At the rate your going youll get fired by your dad.
Sebastian Brooks
Funny but also baseless because OP most likely has hair.
Jayden Young
>He's not doing it since im his kid, im the only one who actually does any work, Yeah, sure. Out of the entire company, and all potential people he could have brought in and hired to do the job, YOU are the only one who "actually does any work."
>I don't want to work with these freaking weirdos that look like pic related. Then fire them.
But blanket refusing to work with certain classes of people is a great way to miss out on talent. Not to mention it's a great way to create an unfriendly and, worst of all, not profit focused culture. While you're looking at hair styles someone else is looking at their accounts and searching for potential effeciencies and actual under-performers.
Brandon Perry
Yes, dying your hair unnatural colors is a distraction in the workplace and unprofessional. No one cares about old people using hair dye though.
Dominic Carter
One you can move up from rather than one you are unable to change.
Brayden Watson
Its down to the contract of employment currently signed with the employer and employee containing said terms.
Does the business have employees dealing with public where dress code is applicable?
If this is not specified in the contract then im afraid you cannot do anything without reissuing a new employment contract, provided on the assumption you just waltz into your managerial position because daddy was manager too.
Either way, expect to have fun in the courts.
Bentley Taylor
What type of argument is that? Obviously i don't mean you I mean these high-schoolers who dye their hair blue or green or purple or whatever. And i have been posting here since 2014
Explain your position
It makes me sick honestly
Because degeneracy
Bro, im 18, im not bald.
Luke Price
Should I paint my hair blonde?
Lincoln Foster
If its a stupid office job then who cares, he will be at a dead end with no hope of promotion. If your work is in any way related to people and relations then you should be fired for any breach of business look.
Nathaniel Carter
>But blanket refusing to work with certain classes of people is a great way to miss out on talent. Not true at all. I have terminated many people which should have never been hired by the hiring manager. Those special class hires took spots away from talented people because of bullshit headcount requirements.
David Morales
I can live with white hair, but I have dyed it almost every colour at this point because I can. I've noticed that the type of people who scream and cry over non-natural seem to be just as beta as the faggots they claim to hate.
Caleb Richardson
It is allowed and it should be.
Ian Murphy
> edgy 18yr old inherits fathers business, proceeds to run it into the ground
Why can I see this headling coming true?
David Hernandez
It is unlikely that you would know whether or not an employee is dying their hair a natural color if they consistently dye it the same color each time. Most people that dye their hair in order to attract attention aren't going to dye it a natural color anyways.
Just do a dress code. The neon hair colored people are going to howl and holler that you can't fire them, but if you are still allow the option to dye natural hair color or to be bald, they can't prove you're singling them out. If they violate the dress code, fire them.
Eli Clark
t. dyed haired weirdo
>Yeah, sure. Out of the entire company, and all potential people he could have brought in and hired to do the job, YOU are the only one who "actually does any work." It's a partnership, it's not very big, i'd even call it a small business but that would give the wrong impression
You really think PIC RELATED will be productive to the business? REALLY?
Christian King
Your vagina looks gay
Michael Jones
I tried to warn him off about it he just got offended. Just sit back and watch the exact same thing happen to him that has happened to everyone else in history who has pretended to be in control. I think you are a closeted homosexuality because your main concern is other peoples hair.
Jayden Kelly
It's fine if you want to have a dress code for professionalism, but considering you want to ban it "because it looks gay" just tells me you're a completely insufferable little pussy. Ignoring the fact that it's probably a fast food restaurant or some shit that literally does not require professionalism in any sense, you're still the biggest bitch this side of the internet.
Bentley Scott
Also go after anyone with metal shit stuck in their face.
Angel Gomez
Just make the argument that it is naturally off putting to a customer because of biology.
Or they could tell them to wear a company hat. Ive heard of some businesses that just tell tattooed people to cover up the tats.
Dylan Rivera
Is that natural?
Gavin Sanders
As soon as they have possible contact with clients or visitors I expect orderly clothing with zero tolerance clause. There's a reason we hide our Callcenter "dump" and IT "freaks" in a place not a single visitor/customer will ever see 1km away from the main building.
Hudson Scott
Quotas are bullshit and I won't defend them. Nevertheless some of the best salespeople I've seen have been tattooed, hair-dyed 'freaks'.
Sebastian Edwards
Strange, leftists have no problem searching employee's social media for "wrong think" and firing them for what the employees do in their spare time even if their work performance is above company standard.
Eli Howard
I'm just going to update the dress code standard which is a total joke right now. It basically says "don't come into work with no shirt on" and bullshit like that. I'm going to make it
>no skinny jeans >no Jordans or other retarded shoes >no dyed hair >no earings if your a guy >no nose piercings for ANYONE
Since most employees are 16-22 I'm going to say dress like someone your age in the 1950s. Like Biff from Back to the Future or George Mcfly or ANYTHING other than the horridness we have now.
Sebastian Murphy
>i'm a powerless dweeb but my daddy is gonna make me a manager and i'm going to make everyone suffer!
Easton Thomas
If they dye it brown or blonde or black then I think it's ok, but if it's some tumblr feminist colour then they need to be physically removed
Oliver Taylor
A literal closeted homosexual why do you spend your time thinking about gay shit faggot?
That's gay but I mean i won't really notice since blond is a natural colour
>i have dyed it almost every colour Go cry then, this thread isn't for people like you. It's for actual contributing members of society not edgemasters
Samuel Taylor
>dressing like an adult >suffering
Tyler Gutierrez
Because its a larper. There are no real nazis only children playing silly games.
Wyatt Diaz
>he says on a site where teens have been harnessed by a major political party to shill for a man who just cried that people should be fired for engaging in speech he does not like
It's too bad you're not able to comprehend irony
Colton Rodriguez
Just start requiring suit and tie and "professional" appearance.
Asher Wood
Firing employees for any reason should be legal. Any reason at all, or even for no reason.
But now of course you have to walk on eggshells or else the (((lawyers))) can suck you dry.
David Hill
If the employees are turning up in jeans and jordans, what exactly does this company do?
Lucas Wright
>It's a partnership, it's not very big So? Do you think that somehow means that all of the potential managers out in the employment market that you competed with for your job somehow disappear?
>You really think PIC RELATED will be productive to the business? REALLY? What I think doesn't fucking matter. All that matters is her performance. Time you waste caring about anything other than that is coming directly out of the bottom line of the business. You will make a shit manager, I can already tell, because you are incapable of separating your personal opinions from the interests of the business and recognising your biases.
Jace Fisher
"thats gay this is gay thats so gay bro put ur dick in my ass bro im so gay bro"
You are a homosexual.
Suits are just clothes made for people that are insecure about themselves.
Fast Food.
Lucas Thomas
Because you think im irresponsible and a typical 18 year old but im actually basically like a 1950s Conservative. I imagine myself how JFK would have been when he was 18, that kind of guy.
>I think you are a closeted homosexuality because your main concern is other peoples hair. You realize every man is a "closet" homosexual right? Every man has dark and evil urges to do homosexual stuff, the difference between us straight men and faggots is that we can actually resist these temptations through sheer will power and basic decency. That's why homosexuality is so linked to other degenerate behaviours, it's just they can't control their desires and fall into indulgence.
This too. Girls can wear earings, nothing more, and guys can wear NOTHING of this sort.
I am trying to make America more like the 1950s and have people look like real citizens for once
Alexander Rogers
fire them then throw them a beating in the parking lot for good measure after you shave their head
Robert Parker
Make Anime real
Cameron James
That's what im saying! I probably won't even notice if someone dyes it something that's an actual colour but if they dye it some rainbow colour then i have a problem
Because i want America to look more 1950s ish
Camden Cook
Dying hair is not a biggie. It's just something people do out of boredom and socialization. If they're a B2C business, they're dealing with "normal people", and it attracts people and conversation more than it "distracts from the workplace" or whatever horseshit. If it's a B2B business, then I would expect them to act professionally.
I think face-piercings or tattoos are worlds worse than hair dye. Almost as bad as those: Being Fat. Stupid haircuts. Sharpee makeup.
Nicholas Lopez
Nah mate we are just talking about you here.
The most degenerate behaviour upon the planet is what you are doing right now >Be you >"STOP LIKING THINGS I DON'T LIKE BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP ME AS YOUR GOD I AM IN COMMAND" >Get manager position at hungry jacks from dad get fired by daddy on the first day for chewing out the fry cook for his sneakers.
Homos like you are why we goto war to put an end to you.
Angel King
Let me make it easier for you >khakis or dress pants >work boots or black dress shoes >no piercings >no unnatural (ex: blue, green) hair colors >any tattoos must not be visible
Levi Richardson
It'll be some bottom of the barrel mum and pop retail job. The owner's kid happened to pop out of the right vagina and somehow thinks he's better than the rest of the pukes on the shop floor despite his objective performance criteria, if any even exist, being middling at best.
I've seen it a thousand times.
Gabriel Rodriguez
>I'm going to say dress like someone your age in the 1950s
Why not throw in clown shoes too. You run a circus, right?
Joshua Gray
Most people there are 16-22, high-schoolers to college students. They aren't expected to wear a suit but I mean they should at least not look like degenerates, pic related is fine, besides of course Marty's stupid lifejacked clothing.
Kayden Perez
Well maybe you should stop the niggers killing people in the streets before you openly care about another persons shoes. (you can see why I would think you are a homosexual)
Grayson Fisher
Why is Sup Forums Sup Forums, the beacon of conservatism and traditionalism on the internet standing up for such anti-conservative values?
Samuel Sullivan
That's what they do in Russia
Thomas Martinez
Listen fuckwit. A real successful black businessman here about to grace you with his knowledge to success. You're acting like a faggot. I mean it. A 100% genuine faggot that loves getting his anus gaped by BBC. All you need to do is announce that the job now has a work uniform. All the men wear the same thing, all the women wear the same thing. Or you can just get a unisex uniform, preferably a pants suit. That is the foundation for not getting harassed to fuck and back. That way you can easily claim with the uniform everyone knows what they need to wear for work and won't waste time in the morning trying a various combination of clothes. The uniform will even include shoes. Just a plain black shoe with no markings or symbols on it. You can even thrown in black socks so faggots won't pull a Trudeau to "stick it to the man". Then with the enforced uniform you can add on things like no earrings for men, in fact it will be better for no jewelry worn by employees besides a watch and no dyed hair. Do that and they will have to dig real deep to find a reason to call you a bigot since you're leveling the playing field for all employees. Everyone is treated the same and equal.
Christopher Torres
>Sup Forums is one person Fuck off kid. You're obviously hideously naive and inexperienced and in no way fit for a managerial role. How old are you? I hope not older than a teenager, because if you are then I'm sorry to tell you but you're a manchild.
Lucas Russell
>I imagine myself how JFK would have been when he was 18
Lol ok. So what exactly is this "business" anyway? I have a feeling you would have a hard time justifying and legally enforcing a personal dress code that extends to hair colour.
