Part 3 was pretty experimental and it's not all proxy fighting. Trust me, from Part 4 onwards Stands blow Ripple right the fuck out of the water in literally every way. Araki learns to write fights that aren't just straight up fights. After Part 3 I actually don't think there are any straight up 1v1 fights that don't have other elements like a chase or something, one in Part 8 is even making beetles do a death match assisted with Stand abilities. The fights are insanely creative and Araki finds good ways of keeping the users actually involved in the fights as well as Stands. Keep in mind that Araki was the first to try this kind of power system back in the 80s. And the art style changes after Part 3, there's less huge ripped dudes and they get more realistic proportions. They're still pretty ripped but in a more realistic way and they don't look like body builders.

Giorno and Buccellati aren't friendly at all and actually don't spend much time together. Mista and Giorno actually become friends over the course of the story whereas Fugo and Narancia were indifferent and Abbachio hated him. It doesn't come across as well in the shit translations but Mista is without a doubt the equivalent to any Zeppeli, Okuyasu etc.

The manga is split into Parts, which are basically arcs except they each star a different main character in different time periods and have some recurring elements but are mostly self contained stories. The original series has 6 parts and there are 2 currently in the new series which is a reboot (still ongoing, even though the series is 30 years old). There's only one actual anime and it started in 2012. There were a few OVAs before that but they don't matter. The 2012 series is 26 episodes and covers all of Part 1 and 2 since they were so short. Then in 2014 and 2015 we got Stardust Crusaders, which is a 48 episode adaptation of Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. It introduces Stands which are the series' main power system for fights. The Stands are pretty simplistic in 3 and the anime had pacing issues (it was too long) so a lot of people who start with the anime don't like it quite as much as the 2012 series but it's still very good. Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable is excellent and the anime is only 12 episodes into a 39 episode run. That's it for the anime, only about 6 years worth of content from the manga has been adapted but the rate will pick up in future seasons and by the time Part 8 is finished they should be up to animating Part 7. Keep in mind that unlike most series JoJo actually gets BETTER as it goes along, even after 30 years.

For years the OVAs were the only JoJo animation we had and they're awesome (they only cover some of part 3 though). Lots of fan jokes come from them. You should watch them, even if only for their importance in the fanbase. They're genuinely good though.

I could have phrased that better. It's not that they don't matter it's just that they're superseded by the new anime which is far more complete and accurate. The OVAs are definitely worth watching after finishing either the anime of SC or the manga. Sorry for the confusion.

How's the voice acting in the ovas

The anime is fine, it's an incredibly good adaptation with no major cuts. No fights or arcs are cut and only a few very minor scenes are cut. Only issue is that there's only 86 episodes of the anime so far.
