Something is really eerie about this show, what is it?

Feels like im missing something, weird arbitrary quotes from time to time by Renge especially the 'color it black' one. (Can someone explain that?)

Wtf is this show about?

u reddy?

I think - far from certain - she is quoiting or misquoting folk or traditional songs? or perhaps from TV shows?

perhaps someone more knowledgeable can say, that's just the feeling i got - especially with her singing in the forest at night.

she was forced to have s*x before

:(

if this is true i might just pick it up

why does a little girl even know about this

Every time a female character shows signs of trauma it doesn't have to be rape. This shit triggers me so badly, it's fucking Yume Nikki all over again.

She wasn't molested, she's just schizophrenic. Go watch the "Sousuner" scene and look at how she draws Shinkansen-chan's portrait.

schizophrenia doesn't usually surface that young

I don't mean Renge specifically (although it may be the source of things), the show just seems weird and I feel uneasy, long still close up camera shots, long pauses between dialogue, I can feel that im missing the bigger picture. This shit sends a chill down my spine.

your SOSUNSER is lacking

it's supposed to be quiet and contemplative

You make it seem like Twin Peaks anime edition

Explain?

Pic related? this isnt fucking normal, how does an episode randomly start with them freezing in a school with snow all around them

Surely this whole series is like an allegory for something so fucked up, someone who knows spill the beans

I got the same vibes, but only from the S2 finale

Forgot to mention that pic was from the transitioning screen of episode 11 near half way, in that episode Renge's older sister was the one sleeping next to Renge, and in the picture theres a corpse, is Renge kill? Why does Renge's older sister always have her eyes shut. Why is this image so fucked up

>look at me im so cancerous lol

Fuck off

that is Komari and Natsumi's older brother sleeping next to a fake skeleton from the science room or whatever. it's just one of the millions of gags about him being a weirdo. you're fundamentally confused about this show.

user you're not completely okay, you should consider seeing a psychiatrist about nascent delusions or something.

Good lord I'm glad I don't have to speak to you in real life.

I don't even...

I'd argue that watching this show and not noticing anything abnormal is rather questionable. I've never said anything like this about any other show, don't worry im not crazy

?

you might have autism that prevents you from understanding the human subtleties of the show, causing you to draw bizarre conclusions from mundane details.

Jesus Christ, someone feeling creeped out by one of the most charmingly innocent shows to exist. Now I've seen it all.

>don't worry im not crazy

...

Are you scared of /comfy/ shows?
Are you Satan?

I think this is a pretty spot on anaylsis of what's going on here.

I wish the fanbase for this series (or atleast the most vocal parts of it) wasn't so retarded, it doesn't particularly deserve it.

Renge is a nam veteran turned into a loli in the next life. But remembers the war still

It's subtly hinted at throughout the series. Last 4 episodes deal with it in a pretty heavy in your face way. I was pretty depressed for a while after that.

It was a song in Guitar Hero, every kid knew about it back in 2008.

It's comedy you fucking retard

Renge was forced to have sex before?

Where's your proof?

Renge was deeply psychologically scarred by the 2011 earthquake. The "color it all black" is a reference to the dark pit of despair she felt when she witnessed her parents being buried alive. This is why she lives with her elder sister and why she never smiles.

truly a masterpiece

In they OAV they get on a plane to Okinawa, but it crashes. They're in purgatory now, reliving that pleasant last year of their life until they realize it's time to move on.

I'm not going to spoonfeed you any further. Go watch it if you care so much about little girls having sex.

There is some more going on thematically and all but nothing quite that fucking dire, you just seem to be isolating a bunch of out-of-context quotes and turning it into a rape allegory

Renge & co are probably the last group of kids the village is going to have in a while (possibly ever even), with all the younger kids increasingly moving to the cities and so on. The village is basically on it's way to drying up and being displaced by the times, and the few people who've chosen to stay there don't really know what to do (especially evident with Candy Story Lady).

Contrary to the series being secretly dark like how you're somehow interpreting it, it's supposed to be hopeful - you have a bunch of cityfolk, Hotaru & her family - move into the city and happily settle into the village. They serve as proof that maybe there's a chance for the village to not die out after all, if they can come along and live happily then who's to say that others can't?

>tfw you crazy cunts are actually making sense
What does 'working in the fields' even mean anymore?

What season: Repeat or Season 1.
I've watched all of season 1, so the implication must have flown right across my head.

user don't actually take the OP seriously you dummy

>the show just seems weird and I feel uneasy, long still close up camera shots, long pauses between dialogue
For the sake of your health, don't watch modern Shaft shows. They'd probably give you a heart attack.

fuck

Watch both seasons again then. It's very subtly in first season. Repeat has a slight change of tone until the last few episodes when the ride just doesn't stop.

It's not implied at all in the first season. Great bait.

Lurk more and watch more anime before posting on Sup Forums please.

Nah, you can, fag

You're overthinking it, this show isn't scary at all

Kill yourself

I really really like this image OP

>fag

I'm alerting the lgbtqf internet police on you.

He's thinking Renge's autism is caused by some crazy shit.

The only crazy shit Renge has experienced is the Vietnam War, which her parents took part in ('working in the fields').

Renge would have been like four years old in 2011
I doubt she remembers that

Take it! It's yours!

Anons, I'm convinced that there are subtle pop culture references scattered throughout NNB.

The "Sparta!" bit can be explained by the existence of the term Spartan Education in Japan, and it probably flies under the radar for Japs, but it's just too damn convenient for it to be followed by Natsumi being kicked from a high place.
Then there's Renge's stuff. Her singing about painting the cardboard black sounds suspiciously like the Japanese version of Paint it black.
Nyan-pasu could be a corruption of Nyan + Osu [a kind of Oorah], and according to one interview, was inspired by N-cha! etc. from Dr. Slump.

Renge was raped by Glasses-kun. That's why Renge always runs from him, and why he never speaks.

>facebook
Fucking cancer.

I think you're just going insane. Do the long pauses in real life creep you out too?

Popular theory is the girls are stuck in a timeloop.

The village they live in was built on top of Hinamizawa.

>Repeat

deepest lure

we bump here

Joke's on you, I meant fag as in a cigarette

>Do the long pauses in real life creep you out too?
