>Wanting sequels
when Ao, Gt and super exist

Of course it won't live up to any expectations, but I doubt they'd let it be TERRIBLE.

6/10 at best.

It's not that I want it. Now that it's happening, I just hope it's not garbage.

I think it's gonna be a lot more fanservice and less subtlety in favor of crude humor.

>a lot more fanservice
Oh God,no...

Nostalgia is going to blind a lot of people on this board and people will get angry because it delivers under where they expected it to. I loved FLCL but I'm not setting my expectations high for this reason alone.

I'm not expecting AS to completely botch the entire thing, but I'm also not expecting it to be perfect either.

if i want to watch porn i'll watch porn m8. I think the original FLCL has the perfect amount of fanservice.

The reason I made this thread is because I just rewatched it, it was just about as good as I remember. Maybe i'm just older now but i didn't feel as many feels at the end, but i guess im not an emotional teenager anymore.

Fanservice doesn't mean ecchi

If they thought it could live up on their own, they wouldnt try to interest by announcing it's sequel, instead made something new.
I really want for it to be good, but chances are slim. Expect shit tier cgi and some sjw propaganda, then you might be pleasantly surprised it's not as bad.

Are Pillows on board?

Keeping my expectations very low, that way if it turns out not to be absolute garbage I'll be pleasantly surprised.

>So is the sequel gonna be any good?
How many times did a sequel turn out good?
>I don't know if i should get my hopes up or not
Look at patterns.

At least it could be good, but for different reasons.
For example, they might not want it to feel like a mess at first, like original FLCL did.
My guess is that people who didn't like FLCL will be likely to enjoy the sequel.

Seeing how season 1 was garbage, I doubt it.

This is really the only question I have.

Aside from that I'm expected nothing so I can appreciate whatever I get.

No word yet, and hopefully not. Either we get the same songs used for the first series which would lessen the impact of new scenes with old scores. Or we get their newer material that has become so cookie cutter between albums after My Foot.

Remember that the songs used in FLCL weren't written for the show, but pulled from albums for the soundtrack.

Please no Pillows.

There are only benefits to not getting your hopes up.

No, unless they bring haruko back to interact with an already adult naota only to find that he isn't after her pussy anymore.

At best it won't be a complete disaster. I don't even want sequels for FLCL to exist. It's such a great complete package on its own as it is.

flcl 2 is going to be the new rebuild 3, I guarantee IG has no idea what makes season 1 good, and season 2 is going to be nothing but so random humor and epic rock music

Something I'd forgotten until I showed FLCL to my gf recently, but Production I.G. worked on the original series.

Sure, they weren't the madmen that wrote it, but they have a history with it already. So that alleviated *some* of my fears at least.

>they
IG only did animation co-production, meaning the extent of their involvement is in getting some cool animators on board and adding muscle to the production. They had no creative role whatsoever and anyone from back then won't be involved now. The studio name doesn't mean anything.

Implying that the soundtrack wasn't the best thing of the show. Bye.

>Muh Pillows.
Who cares? Their tracks were forgettable. I barely remember any of them.

Regardless about your opinions on newer pillows music they also have a massive back catalog of incredible tunes.

>sjw propaganda
Why is everyone under the impression tht this show is going to b3 made by Americans and American writers, are you people really that dense. CN/AS is just dropping the cash, creatively they have little else to do with it.

Best FLCL amv ever. In case you want to feel nostalgic.

Are they really doing a sequel?? xD

>sequels for a finished work who don't need it

"You see what companies does?"

Why won't it be awful. It has no reason to exist. What does it add to flcl?

You wanna take another stab at that?

>Sequel made years after the original in order to cash in on western nostalgia being made by a different staff.

It's most likely going to be severely disappointing.

I remember quite a few of them though.

>So is the sequel gonna be any good?
No one here can see the future, just gotta wait and see

I didn't say anything about the soundtrack being bad. Can you read?

nothing can happen until you swing the bat, user.

Won't this show be made my americams?

From what I've read so far, I doubt it. The story has been told and that's that. Any further expansion is just going to make the story go lopsided and lose it's focus. The whole point of FLCL was Naota coming to grips with immaturity and the consequences of ideals. All of the unanswered crazy bullshit flying around that point was meant to be left as unanswered crazy bullshit to emphasize that the details didn't matter in the grand scheme of the plot. Season 2 has the most potential but will likely end up a pandering retread while season 3 has the potential to completely undermine the series by elaborating on Haruko's past and thus distorting the thematic focus of season 1. Overall, I'm not too excited.

No, just funded. Tsurumaki will only be there as "advisor" or some other minor meaningless role. Enokido will not be involved at all.
>All of the unanswered crazy bullshit flying around that point was meant to be left as unanswered crazy bullshit to emphasize that the details didn't matter in the grand scheme of the plot.
Exactly this; the crazy shit had a clear symbolic purpose.

At best it will be a pointless fanfiction-like follow-up that'll have some good art and animation and fail to have the narrative impact of the first show while still managing to be decent fun. At worst it will be full of hideous computer effects and have terrible modern anime coloring.

It's going to suck and you're going to swallow.

No chance. It's forced as hell. Just a quick cash grab.
