The issue that people have with "thin" models being called plus sized is based on a misunderstanding of the fashion industry.
Models are maniquins that's it. They are required to fit a very narrow size of clothing so that 2 sizes of samples will suffice to dress any number of models that may need to wear them. (Usually size 0 and 2)
It's a cost thing. Show rooms are stuffed to the rafters as it is with only two sizes.
A "plus sized" model is anyone that requires a size 6 and above. (Size 4 for some brands.) This designation isn't about fat shaming. It's about needing an extra size of sample to fit that model. Historically the plussize actually refered to needing size 0 & 2 "plus size..."
That said as the very very few plus size 00 models just pin the 0s the terms has become to refer to the plus nature of the models size.
