You can pay for a car for $1,000

>you can pay for a car for $1,000

This is what Trump's economic advisor said with a straight fucking face. Are these people so delusional and cut off from real Americans, also called serfs, or are they full of shit? Unfuckbelieveable. He also looks like one of the robbers from Home Alone.

You can buy a car for less than that

I once traded a case of beer for a car.

Well, you can get a car for a $1000 bucks. Sure, it's going to be old or the title is going to be "salvage", but you can get a running car for fuck, $500, if you know where to look (CL).

I have never paid more than that for a car. Either b8 or you're the one cut off from society but probly b8 kys

There's plenty of older vehicles that still work for 1grand, You won't get lifetime use but you'll get your moneys worth.

No person should have to drive a $1000 car you fucking idiots

Are you blind or just retarded?

He does not look like Joe Pesci

He's right you know. Stop buying dumbass cars, buy something cheap, drive it and save up, and then trade it in for something else.

Most the people I know with a decent amount of real wealth (houses) drive old econoboxes.
People who spend lots of money on cars should be gassed.

Lulz.
Thanks for the chuckle.

What if you were given a horse instead.

Go on Craigslist and do a search for Honda Civic. You'll find tons of reliable vehicles for under $3k.

I bet you'd throw one hell of a tantrum if your mom only paid 1000$ for your car.

Got my truck for 1000$ exactly. Had it for two years so far. I can change brakes though, and know the difference between a faulty alternator, belt or battery.

Yes comrade, just wait 10 years for a state-supplied one

> Will save you 1,000 if you make 100000 a year

OP are you underage? I can go a purchase a car for $500 right now if I wanted to. Sure it's going to be a dinged up older car, but a car is a car.

Yis

You cant even get a passable used car for 1000. 1k will get you a car with one tire already in the grave.

>you can pay for a car for $1,000
What exactly about this statement is incorrect? I bought my first car for about $400

You can buy a running, road worthy car for 300$ on Craigslist dipshit! Are you fucking retarded?

Then buy one tire.

Communism solves that, nobody has a car. Or food.

I drove an $800 pickup truck for 4 years and I managed just fine.

>$1000 down payment on car
>((Own)) new car

Omg.... hes... right

ITT this thread rich capitalists who drive new bmws try to tell the workers that they should drive 1000$ shitboxes that barely run

Fucking hypocrites, next you will be telling us we should eat dirt and breadcrumbs because you can live off that

>not buying used

Why are americans so retarded?

Why drive cars at all?
Evil capitalists make them.
If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.

I have so many perfectly good cars, all either free or close to it, that I literally don't know what to do with them all.

You tear down the system by operating from within it, not being an ideological hermit

Why are commies so entitled?

A Toyota Prius is considered a budget car and it costs $25000 so how the fuck is a $1000 car gonna be any good you retarded fuck

Everyone saying you buy a reliable car for only $1,000 is full of shit. Just to be contrarian and just defend your fucking people you going to sit there and lie and say you can afford a car for only $1,000? Tell me the cars that you drive and tell me what car you can get for that amount?

Right.
And if you ever succeeded you would be aghast.
Which is probably why you don't try very hard.

>not knowing who joe peschi is

just fucking kill yourself

>A Toyota Prius is considered a budget car
By retards like yourself.

You can. I've done it.

Got a BMW 520i for a 1000 dollars. Under 185 000 miles and runs great.

You can easily buy a car much cheaper than that. It won't last for 2 years, but what the fuck are you expecting buying used cheap cars.

I drive a 2000 mustang I bought for 400 and put about 800 bucks Into it, a little over 1k but within the ballpark the guy is talking about.

>not going for a used but decent car
>not having the dedication to learn how to tinker with cars
>not knowing how to repair the problems your car may have
>expects the "state" to solve his problems for him

Wew lad. Come back when your balls have dropped.

I put $500 down a year back on a new corolla and got it the next day with like no credit... as long as youre not a lazy poorfag and continue to make money the down payments arent that bad considering it started at $500

>if they can't afford bread let them eat cake

He's a jew. What did you expect?

...

> trumps economic advisor stated a fact

okay?

You should shop around. If you know even alittle about what you're doing, you can find cars even today for under 1000$'s that you can probably use for six months before you have to get repairs. People sell low when the tires are shit, or the alternator is broke. I drove a 1998 kia Sophia for 3 years with water damage, before the axel literally broke overnight. Got 300$ in scrap for it. Stop being a commie bitch. You gotta gas us to succeed anyway.

I've bought cars for less than that, he's completely right.

you can buy a car for 1000 but to make it road worthy you'd have to put another few thousand into it, Three thousand dollars is the minimun if you want a driveable car upon sale

I bought my first car a couple of years ago for £500. It was a Renault Megane (1998 I think), the interior was in a pretty poor state, and it hadn't been properly maintained since it left the factory gate (no idea how it was passing its MOTs). But it worked well enough to get me to and from work until I could afford a better car.

Why are you people trying to buy brand new cars when you can't afford them? The market for shitty old beaten up wrecks exists for a reason.

People are idiots who live beyond their means and then complain when they're out of money all the time.

id love to slash that faggot jews throat
a 1000 dollar car could be a sweet deal or a fucking piece of shit

I'm driving a 2002 Volvo v70 that I purchased for $400. It has 245k miles and when I purchased it I had to replace rear brakes, battery, passenger door wrecked from accident, tierod, wheel bearing, pay for shop to do an alignment. All of this was work done by myself in a single day (except for the alignment) and cost me $220.

Grand total: $620+registration

This

Get a fucking job

I paid 1200 dollars for my car 4 years ago, it runs fine and looks good. The rims on it are worth more than 1200.

We've been building good cars for a looooooong time brah, there's no need to get a fancy new hybrid.

Here in Aus I got:
>Hyundai excel - free
>Ford laser - free
>Toyota Corolla - free
>Toyota Celica - free
>Toyota Corolla - case of beer
>Toyota Corolla - $100
>Toyota Corolla - $850 with 12months rego on the road and reliable
>Nissan Skyline R31 - $350
>Nissan 300ZX - $400

I could go on....
Pic related is Judge Gus Gray and his million mile Corolla.

No you can't.

You can buy a junker for 1,000 dolllars, but then you need a timing belt, water pump, thermostat, transmission fluid, oil filter, oil, likely a new radiator, new brakes, maybe rotors, a few light bulbs, a couple sensors and every few months your going to have to put a couple hundred into it. All that shit adds up. May as well start with a non shit car.

A car costs between 3-4K for one that will run reliably if you know what you are doing.

You easily can though if your not a retard numale

>Not buying a car you can wrench yourself and bond with your kids/dad/friends over

I wonder who's to blame for this mindset? I wonder who profits from both rampant consumerism AND short-term high interest loans?

I work at McDonalds and make $000s of dollars worth of food every day, yet I only get paid $85 for an entire day's work. If I was paid a fair wage like $15 an hour, I could actually afford a decent car, unlike my situation now where I have to take out payday loans to even afford the repayments on my c class

This post makes me miss my Corolla, that thing took damage and laughed it off and had stupid good mpg

You can buy an older car for $1000. With due diligence you could find a car that still runs fine and is in good condition. Hopefully getting that car helps you leverage your time that you can increase your income enough that you can afford a $5000 car. A car still gets you places no matter how old it is. At work one of the managers drives a Hyundai accent with no ac because it's paid by off.

Bought a 1999 Lincoln Continental for $750 two weeks ago, needed no major maintenance just an oil change and new tires

Stop buying ford's.

(You)

Found On Road Dead

The fuck you say?

Must suck to suck

Used car market was destroyed by Obama's cash for clunkers program.
Auto industry must have been laughing their asses off that they got the market nearly cleaned of all used vehicles.

What cunt? The legendary Ford 300 motor is one of the most reliable engines of all time - it has timing gears FFS! No chains which stretch, no belts which snap, fucking gears!

down payment plus bi weekly payments

thousands of dollars worth of labor went into that food, not just including you. the foot didn't research, grow, market, ship and unpack itself with all the overhead accompanied by that

I know what I'm doing. Water pump problems are easily detectable (they are designed to 'weep' when near failure), and radiator problems are rare. Fuck rotors if they aren't too bad, and everything else is cheap if you do it yourself. Head gasket and fuel pump problems I are my main concerns, but I use the vehicle's history and reviews for that. Spark plugs are cheap, and the suspension is also easily noticed. Oil problems likewise, but older cars hold up better because certain new standards in emmisions make it a bigger problem for catastrophic engine failure. I'm no expert either, your just a nigger.

Move to NYC you’ll make $15 an hr there

How the fuck coud you possibly construe people getting cash for their clunkers as a bad thing?

Right wingers everyone

gears that break teeth and grind

>commie defending blatant corporate welfare

LMAO

>remove working cars from the market simply because they're old
>give rich people subsides to buy new cars
>HOW COULD THIS HURT POOR PEOPLE?!

>1 post by this ID

I bought a 2012 Vauxhall corsa with 26,000 on it for £3500 last year, its at 39k now and can see it lasting a long time.

I live in new yuppy apartments and nearly all of them have identical 2017 Audi TTs (this seems to be the go to yuppy car since it looks semi sporty) on3 year PCP contracts that barely ever move.

>I work at McDonalds
Get an adults job.

I dunno, think an economic advisor to the president of the US isn't bombarded by up-to-date data every single waking moment?

You CAN buy a car for $1000, it's gonna be a '94 civic but you can indeed

You could before Obama's car scam.

It's a Vauxhall. It will shake itself to death and explode.

>You can buy a junker for 1,000 dolllars
Less than 1k - that way you have money left over for repairs.
>but then you need a new timing belt
Get a car old enough to have a timing chain, preferably twin row, preferably not over head cam so it's short - it won't ever need replacing.
>water pump
Probs won't need one but that's about $50
>thermostat
$10
>transmission fluid
Buy a manual, even if it is auto $30?
>oil filter, oil
It doesn't matter how much money you spend on a used car, you should always do this first thing - $5 for filter, $20 for oil.
>likely a new radiator
Not likely but less than $100 for a perfectly good used one
>new brakes
Maintenance part, going to need replacing at some stage anyway, $50 for pads, $100 for rotor machining.
>a few light bulbs
$2
>a couple sensors
Buy a car old enough to have no sensors.
>every few months you're going to have to put a couple hundred into it
No.

All up, if you needed to replace everything you've listed (not likely), you're looking at $367 on top of your purchase price.

the kbb for my car is around 1k

CFC was long ago. It didn't change the used market much and all of that was local. Unlike most here I worked in the industry and went to many auctions where CFC turn-ins were sold. (They got auctioned via outfits like Copart, salvaged then hulls crushed.)

It was good times at salvage yards for a while though. Basically everything but long block/oil wetted components and body/unibody with VIN whose destruction was required was fair game.

It's 2017. CFC is ancient history. New cars built then are abundant in the cheap used market today. Cars aren't cheap new so they are sometimes expensive used, but you solve that by buying cheaper used rides. There are plenty for sale in most of the US.

A grand will get you an acceptable beater and three will get you a better one. Three K isn't shit.

Was it a deloreon?

Jaguar XJ12, £1200. 11 MPG around town and no regrets.

>CFC was long ago.
It was less than a decade ago you dipshit
Even the ultra-liberal LATimes admitted in 2011 that it was a complete disaster for poor people

>If anything, the government has hindered the working poor's access to cars. The 2009 Cash-for-Clunkers program, for example, put 690,000 running vehicles in the junkyard, making the used cars that remained more expensive.

1980 chevy chevette. Had it for two years and then sold it to my brother.

>you can pay for a car for $1,000

That's like when I heard
>You don't need money for food, you can go to the food bank.

$1000 pays for my car for 3 months.

>Mfw my daily beater cost $350 and i only put a starter on it in the past 100k miles

Got it at 210k, drove it another 100k so far. 96' Honda Accord

Keeps the wear and tear off of my fun more gas guzzling some bitches.

Am I going to stand around in the park today waiting for a handout?
>yup

This is bullshit, I tried the buy a cheap car & save route and that motherfucker broke down at the most inconvenient and unexpected times, cost me a job & subsequent loss of income.

It wasn’t until I changed my mindset that a car was a consumed item (like food) who’s only return is survival I was able to more capably fulfil the routine of work, stay employed and save to get a house.

A car bought from a reputable dealership will increase your credit, build customer retenion desires when making next purchase & in my case, allowed me to be reliable, keep my job & be further promoted.
