Airforce is a great option for quality of life, though a bit more liberals there. Depending on your rate(job) you rank up pretty fast. I'm a CTN and I just hit e5 in 2 years.

if you want to get fit you can read stuff for weeks. Try out a million different workout plans, based on hundreds of mentalities/systems etc.

However all you REALLY need to know is that you need to work out short but intensively.
Do exercises with a weight/resitsance that you cannot do more then 3-12 repetitions before needing a break. Eat more protein (meat/low fat dairy is good).
Try to work out your entire body. Dont waste time on working out your pinky finger - work the biggest muscle groups (legs/chest/back) the most and the smaller muscle groups less.
You should have 2-4 days rest before you work out the same muscle group again.
A 45 minute workout 3 times a week can have amazing results already, as long as your workout is really intensive. Also consistency is key. Growing muscles is slow as fuck - dont give up because you see no results (or roiders claim to have much better results in shorter time)

get your blood tested and see if you're deficient in any major nutrients. you probably don't need to take vitamin d like most of us northerners do, but you very well may need to take zinc. if you're deficient in either, taking them will boost your testosterone a bit and will likely improve your mood

as for lacking direction, basically everyone does at that age. take a minute and think about what interests you. whether it's a hobby you've had for a couple years (like woodworking, gardening, or making music), or something you've never tried but you think you'd enjoy, consider what careers are available for them and then pursue what sounds interesting to you.
my biggest advice is to not fall for the neet meme. it'll feel great that first year, but it's a hard rut to get out of. before you know it you'll be 22-24, all your old friends will be off finishing university and starting up families while you've been holed up in your room accomplishing nothing
