Finally get to the part of the series where this badass with optimal hat hair shows up

>Finally get to the part of the series where this badass with optimal hat hair shows up
>turns out he's a jerk who calls his mom bitch
wow thanks for lying to me yet again Sup Forums

>Sup Forums
>liking Jotaro

Nice joke

Jotaro is the least liked JoJo mc besides Giorno.

No one likes Jotaro.

I like that Jousuke is nice to his mom.

I like Jotaro

He's kuuru

Where does hat end and hair begin? I don't think I never really understood this.

He's just trying to be edgy. Jotaro loves his mama. That's why he went on a trip around the world to kill a 100+ year old vampire.
It's torn off at the end and blends in with his hair.

what is this fucking meme /a?

Jotaro is best JoJo behind Joseph

He's the worse you said it. It's just that Sup Forums loves japanese dudes.

Don't think about it too hard.

What a genius . Love his smile

Taking body parts off must be pretty easy then.

This guy is the master of shonen

Jotaro is boring as can be, and Part 3 is the least fun to read of all.

Jotaro and Part 3 in general are in that spot where back then, his character hadn't been done to death and back and the concept of Stands was new to a lot of people. So they became super popular as a result.

Nowadays not so much, but that really can't be helped at this point.

>what are character arks

fucking moron

Jotaro acts like that because he doesn't want his mom to come near him since he thinks he's possessed by an evil spirit

Why does no on understand this?

I thought part 3 was really disappointing considering I'd read in a lot of places it was the best. Part 2 was a lot better and Joseph was a much better Jojo, it was shame not even him and Dio could save part 3.

>arks
fucking moron

At least Jotaro acts like himself in later parts and isn't a cheating ass.

>Jotaro
>character arc

He showed so much maturity in Part 6, didn't he?

part 3 is a collection of hollywood inspired setpieces around the world with "we must find dio" overarching guide, has good group cohesion

Agreed.

Funny because delinquent manga used to have the same thing way before JoJo

Is Stardust Crusaders worth watching/reading or should I just skip over to Diamond is Unbreakable?

Parts 4, 5, and 6 spoils the ending of Stardust, so it's required reading.

I don't understand why people are so hung up on him saying a mean thing to his mom. The entire point of the fucking part is Jotaro is on a journey to save his mother that could very well cost him his life.

>le jotaro suckks meme XDD
Other than 90% of the non-autistic fanbase, he's one of the most popular characters in the series by far and literally the face of the franchise. Your garbage secondary opinion is not valid.

Jotaro made JoJo popular in the first place. He is the most popular JoJo in Japan. Western opinion means horse shit.

>I don't understand why people are so hung up on him saying a mean thing to his mom. The entire point of the fucking part is Jotaro is on a journey to save his mother that could very well cost him his life.

In my defense I am only like 2 episodes into this part of the series, this was just my gut reaction.

That's understandable, but as you watch Jotaro go through hell and deal with the most insane shit ever, ask yourself how many people you know that would go through that to save a family member not caring if they die or not.

Who told you Jotaro wasn't a jerk?

He's still rude as heck. You can do the big thing but still be a dickface in day to day.

I'm watching Stardust Crusaders and 9 episodes into it. When does it stop being a Monster of the Week series?

NEVER

Even DIo is monster of week but the time stops make it feel longer

The entire series is monster of the week starting from 3.
First season of Stardust is pretty boring, but the second season is a lot better.

...

Why was Jotaro so much more durable than Dio during their battle? After draining Joseph's blood Dio even landed several direct hits on him in the midst of a timestop yet couldn't come close to replicating the damage Jotaro dealt him.

Did getting angry turn his body into steel?

>say yare yare
>beat bad guy

wow amazing

And no matter how popular he is, he's still the blandest Jojo, even compared to Jonathan.

>jotaro is the blandest Jojo

Look I get it he's mean to his mommy and doesn't get his good boy points but if you've read/watched phantom blood Jonathan is absolutely mister mcblandy bland

Jonathan at least has a character arc and flaws

Eh some of the other parts do a better job of making the story feel like it's flowing better outside of part 3. Part 7 while still being a monster of the week type story still changes things up enough by spending a good portion of the time on the plot, and making a lot of the fights (outside of the boom boom family fight) feel semi related to the plot (As they're fighting over the corpse parts) as well as important for certain character's character arcs.

Part 8 is more of a situation of the week with the actual combat portions not really being as important or as drawn out as other parts. Even more so than in part 4, which had a similar formula.

>attracted to delinquent characters
>get mad when character acts like a delinquent
>so shallow, you can't see past the act
Even if you're trolling, people like you are cancer.

Joseph is the best JoJo.

>Hearing part 3 was the best
>Not parts 4,7, or 8
Most everyone doesn't say part 3 is the best part these days. Which helps lessen a lot of the part 3 fagging. Everybody almost universally says it or part 1 are their least favorite. (With the occasional part 5 or 6)

Honestly it's all of the part 2 over hype that's starting to piss me off these days.

>Gappy is the best JoJo.
FTFY

That's objectively not true when Josuke, Johnny, Jolyne and Gappy exist.

No. Being the protagonist gave him plot armor.

Or DIO was toying with him being the cocky fuck that he is.

>being too nice is the real flaw.
>I love you Dio even though your an ass monkey and you just killed my new team friend, let me cradle you in my arms.
>character arc is learns hamon.

It doesn't but Part 4 onwards blends the monster of the week style with 1 and 2's style. Every fight furthers the main plot in some way or has some sort of important character development in it after Part 3. It uses MotW because from Part 3 onwards every Part is like 3 times longer than 1 or 2. For reference;

Part 1 = 44 chapters and 9 episodes
Part 2 = 69 chapters and 17 episodes
Part 3 = 154 chapters and 48 episodes
Part 4 = 174 chapters and 39 episodes
Part 5 = 155 chapters
Part 6 = 158 chapters
Part 7 = 96 chapters (73 of them were monthly which are 3 times longer than standard chapters so this is actually the longest by far, also a reboot)
Part 8 = 55 and still running (all monthly and twice as long as standard chapters)

Part 3 is kind of weak after 2 and the first half of Part 4 is really slow but after that everything else just gets better and better.

Correction. Star Platinum is the one that steals the spotlight, he would be better as the stand of a more likeable character.

I bet you've never read a single page of the manga

Literally every other character in their party had more character development than Jotaro

He's the most famous because he's the most advertised. He's the most advertised because of the shitty anime-only edgy children of the fanbase.

Are you telling me I'm doing something wrong by going through the anime first?

>Honestly it's all of the part 2 over hype that's starting to piss me off these days.
Maybe people wouldn't hype part 2 these days so much if it wasn't so good, especially in the anime.

>le dull jonathan
>wacky josefu XDDD

Part 2 is nearly 30 years old, most people that weigh things properly(read: that finished Battle Tendency more than two weeks ago) don't evaluate either in this childish fashion.

Just face it, nigga. Part 1 and 2 are way superior to the rest.

There are no bad JoJos. There, I said it.

Shit taste.
Part 7 and 4 are goat.

4 > 7 > everything

Nigger, Jotaro Kujo has been the face of JoJo for over two decades. In fact, Sup Forums used to love part 3, it's only been in the last 4 years that people have started hating it, I assume because of the anime. In another 5 years every part will be animated and Sup Forums is probably going to discard JJBA forever as "entry-level".

Isnt he suppossed to be like that but really cares for his mom? Like he has a tough outside but deep down he cares for her. I mean yeah its cliche but I like Jotaro.

Yeah, and that's still more character development than what Jotaro had.

Hell, Jotaro is constantly overshadowed throughout the entire part by Polenareff, who's the only real Stardust Crusader that gets any semblance of character development throughout the entirety of Part 3.

Jotaro only shows up to look cool, and that's it.

>muh sister

>muh mommy

>Jotaro
>Anything other than a raging autist

It's actually lots of fun user. We just like being critical. Don't skip any JoJo parts, they all have their merits.

I guess a lot of people don't like how he's handled.

He's always taken incredibly seriously, there's no fun chapters like Avdol/Joseph vs Mariah or Polnareff vs Alessi.

He's also never really put in any danger, he always has the upper hand in every situation.

He never had anything interesting to say or any real character development or arc. He started and ended his journey as the exact same person.

People also accuse him of being a bit sue-ish because of how the DIO fight went down. Having him suddenly pull out THE WORLD was a bit of an ass pull. Considering no two stands in the histroy of he series have been the same before, it just felt flat the DIO lost because of a freak power up. (Though to be honest, i'd say the entire DIO's world fight was horribly mishandled. DIO is kept out of the spotlight for the whole manga, and in his grand return he manages to have a lower body count than Vanilla Ice and gets beaten 1 on 1 by a worse version of his own ability.)

But the D'arby fight was good

Both D'arby fights are my favorite parts of SC.

It never stops.

That's not necessarily a bad thing though. Stands were a brand new concept for Part 3 so Araki showed off as many as he could. And most of the fights are awesome anyways. Boingo's fights still rank among the best fights in the series.

Honestly I like the OVA's explanation that Star Platinum has been secretly protecting Jotaro from wounds all along.

It makes sense that a stand with equal power to DIO's would be able to adequately tank hits for its user as well.

It's not that I like the lack of character development, but Jotaro leaves Japan with the single-minded purpose of saving his mother, his goal never changes and he always maintains sight of it at all times.
I'd say his lack of character development is simply because he didn't need to become someone else to complete his journey. He was the person he needed to be from the start.

>let me explain how my opinions are scientifically backed laws of physics and everyone who disagrees is just stupid and doesn't know anything as well as me

>In another 5 years every part will be animated
I highly doubt we'll get through it all that fast. I mean we had almost a year gap just between 3 and 4. If that keeps up then the downtime spent waiting between all the parts will be around 5 total years.

>expecting anything from starshit crushitters

yarr yarr dayz

WOW SO BRAVE AND INSPIRING,,. UPVOTE
Why are JoJo threads allowed? worst than fucking Naruto.

You hardy seem like the kind of person to talk.

Want that (You)? Here you go

Can I be honest? I don't understand why so many people loved Joseph in Part 2.

It's not that I hated him as I quite liked the change from Jonathon. He was interesting to watch and the bullshit he could do with Ripple/Hamon/whatever you want to call it was cool but really exhausted its use.

Honestly, it's hard to explain, but I just didn't click with him as other animeonlys did (No, I'm not waiting on the anime anymore. I just finished the first half of Enigma Boy yesterday.) I much prefer him in Parts 3 and 4 over how he was in 2. He feels much better as a supporting character than as a main character. Maybe it's because he doesn't rely on asspulls as much, maybe it's because I love seeing how far he's come, I dunno.

Or maybe I just really love Part 4 so much more in comparison to everything else and it's starting to show me why I didn't like Part 2 as much as others.

It's called an arc you fuckwit, and he didn't have one.

Not developing as a character isn't a good thing and he cheats like mother fucker. He pulls entire new powers out his ass and tells logic to fuck itself constantly.

>Jonathan
>Bland

Fuck off. He's one of the only Jojo to have nuanced emotions. His final words to Dio are manly tears incarnate. He has a clear growth and development from wimpy rich kid to courageous gentleman. Then there's Jotaro who doesn't even emote or change at all.

Anything similar to this?

I mean there's this
