Objectively the best art in Manga

Berserk fags need to read a real Seinen

At least Berserk is updating.

It should stop updating, it's obvious he doesn't give a shit about it anymore after he allowed this garbage to happen. Hope to god Vagabond never gets an anime.

>Hope to god Vagabond never gets an anime.
You and I both.

It's funny.

Inoue is so good at so many things.

Then he tries to draw a fight scene and you realize that Samura makes him look like a child.

If Samura bothered to put half as much work into his manga as he did into his torture porn, there wouldn't even be an argument.

Vagabond is overrated. Read the better best art samurai manga.

I like Vagabond but I think the actual book Musashi is the better read so far as that story goes.

My nigga

That's not Blade of The Immortal

>I think the actual book Musashi is the better read so far as that story goes.
Wow, someone else has this same view as me.

Musashi in Vagabond, although very humane, is nothing like the real Musashi either. If you read the book of seven rings, you can tell that Musashi was a very pragmatic man, who won because he only trained endlessly and use every possible way to win. His famous double sword is a literal representation of his philosophy.
>why have one small sword that you don't use hidden the entire fight? Use everything at your disposal

Like, he went to fight some legendary fighter called the Monster of the East, or something, (it's the deaf guy in Vagabond) who had a long sword and waited an hour for Musashi to come. Musashi came late with nothing but a wooden stick and beat his to death.
Musashi, in his book, talks about not making fancy dances or other shit, just focus on being the best and quickest while sharpening your skills.

In the manga, you get nothing of that feeling. He's just humane and that's all there is to him.
Boring.

whats the girl staring at?

But does Vagabond have a wise magical negro like Berserk?

Donovan did nothing wrong.

Not objective the best but I like it. However I really fear the day this gets an anime adaptation and the fanbase on Sup Forums goes from around 15 people to /jojo/ general tier.

Is it finished yet? Thinking about re-reading. I really enjoy the cast for this one.

I also like how the artist was an assistant to Nihei too, it really shows.

Should finish this year, En's alive and fighting Kaiman/Ai/Kai/Whateveritactuallyfuckingis

for real this time it's gonna finish this volume

>No Real
>No Vagabond even though it's on the last arc

What the fuck happened?

Both are really good, don't be a faggot

Vagabond isn't epic.

God tier manga art thread?

Real is better than Vagabond anyway.

>God Tier
>Links one of the latest chapters

The art was much better before Thorfin went full faggot

>Vagabond
>Berserk
>Vinland Saga

All top-notch art style mangas. Impossible to say one better than other among those... If you try to say so, either you are baiting, or retarded...

Blade of The Immortal >>>All three Samura=GOD

RIP Yami no Matsuei

why even ask

art isn't objective and what people find the best isn't either.

and to provoke people who like Kentaro Miuras' art also?

man this thread started out pretty darn shitty 2/10 only for the chance of someone recommending something new to read.

I wish Samura actually cared about his manga, and not about murdering prostitutes and sketching the bodies in his basement.

Samura = lazy.

He'd be the greatest of all time if he wasn't so fucking inconsistent.

I like both, which is the need to face everything with everything?, you can't be happy without conflict for ONE JUST ONE FUCKING TIME IN THIS FUCKING LIFE ?

Even Japan knows that Inoue is better.
>tfw Berserk second place
>tfw Inoue is a 10/10 and Miura is an ugly nerd

All you need is kill has some high tier art style as well.

It's Kojiro, Musashi carves the oar of the boat he's riding into a long wooden sword to match the length of Kojiro's sword, washing pole.

...

get the fuck out scrub. you don't know anime

>mangas
>...
Kill yourself.

>Objectively the best art in Manga
That's debateable

>that webm
Mah boi

>samurai manga
>good
kek, watch Seven Samurai, nerd.

>tfw want to buy all of Berserk, Vinland Saga, Akira, Vagabond and Jojoniums but english subbed manga is expensive as fuck.

Guess i'll stick to buying 3-4 volumes a month

>Moeserk
>Farmland Saga
>Hiatusbond
>Edge of the Edgemortal
>good

GUTS MA MOI

You forgot Hisnorie.

sorry i dont like anime shit

>male nipples
>in japanese drawn entertainment
What is this witchcraft?

An absurdly detailed and hyper-realistic style of manga

That's hilarious
>my sword isn't as long as yours
>oh I know, I'll just cut a long branch
>alright, now we're even

True.

10 STAR POST, M8 B8 MASTUR8 FAMPAI LMAO TO KUCK

This is not looking particularly "hyper-realistic" to me.

...

Personally, I think it's all about the composition, rather than the actual quality of the art.

sorry but you need this

Pretty sure pic related blows everything else in this thread out of the water, art and storywise.

It's very detailed, but don't call it realistic. That just makes you look like a 'tard, since it's quite obviously still rather stylized. Realism doesn't look like that at all.

>this fucking chink only went from weekly to bi-weekly because he had kids and wants time to raise them right

I don't know if this guy would even qualify considering it's not manga, but I believe having a steady release rate ought to count for something.

it's hyper realistic in terms of a manga/comic.
You're being a tard for not realizing that.

"HUURR DURRR DOESN'T LOOK VERY REALISTIC TO ME"

The reason it doesn't reach hyper-realistic levels you'd see in drawings or paintings is because it's not one image, the mangaka has to draw pages upon pages of this stuff.

You've got to view it in a manga setting.
Innocent is by far the most realistic it has ever gotten in a manga.

......context?

sex scene between 2 affluent members of society in their own house.

Boring story, though. Artwise they're equal. Vagabond fans really have a stick up their ass.

...

Doesn't he use photos to make his backgrounds, textures etc rather than just drawing them? In which case it's about as realistic as black and white art can get. And if not, he's just crazy skilled.

But what I love most about Innocent is how he mixes in unrealistic/fantasy elements too for the sake of symbolism, it looks great. I like it a lot more than KnH, which was so dark it was sometimes difficult to see the details clearly.

Manga with my favorite art.

>Doesn't he use photos to make his backgrounds, textures etc rather than just drawing them?
He must because the buildings he draws look identical to historical buildings in France

Blame is so fucking good.

Too bad the volumes are really rare now.

Then you should have qualified it in the first place by saying "[...] for a comic". I'm more than aware of the limitations of having a deadline for art, my man. Anyway, the image you posted (and the manga in general) exagerates lighting very heavily to make use of the natural qualities of black & white contrast. This by itself is enough to differentiate it from art attempting to be realistic by instead trying to be larger-than-life, more dramatized. The proportions and stylization of anatomical details and such IS relatively realistic (excluding the lips) relative to most other comics, I'll give you that.

You should probably not go mouthing off at me for making a mistake that you yourself made. Also stop strawmanning people's arguments by typing it in caps with a bunch of HURRRs as if they're a loud autist, since again, it makes you look like a 'tard.

There's videos on youtube (I can't find them now) that show either him or an assistant of his drawing a background. They just used 3d assets and drew over them. They might use photos as well, I don't know, but I'd assume it's a similar case as with Asano where he's using them to reach higher levels of detail rather than as a lazy shortcut.

>Also stop strawmanning people's arguments by typing it in caps with a bunch of HURRRs as if they're a loud autist, since again, it makes you look like a 'tard.

Your argument
>"This is not looking particularly "hyper-realistic" to me."
My "strawman"
>"HUURR DURRR DOESN'T LOOK VERY REALISTIC TO ME"

I'm not too far off now am I?

Kiyoushirou Inoue and Daisuke Igarashi are both unquestionably better than Inoue or Miura.

...

Let me gues. You saw people shit on the new movie, so you throught everyone hates Berserk? That7s the contrary. Everyone is angry because this manga deserved the best Japan can do. But Vagabond? That's a dead manga people sometimes speak about because it was good very....VERY long ago.
Berserk has done as good, and even better, largely better. Its world scale only is so huge Vagabond looks like a 50 pages light novel.
The art style is excellent, and the atmosphere was immersive, but what about originality? Innovation? Research? Development of every single detail or character?
Don't make me laugh.

i was waiting for this

it's the tone that makes the difference
I'm just trying to have a civil discussion and you're makin' me look like a screaming ape. I just don't want it to turn into shitflinging is all.

...

It is going to get a hardover release in english soon

I don't see what there is to admire. Sincerely. This looks like shit and I'm certainly not the only one to think that.

>civil discussion
>implying im a tard
you can only do one.

There's this thing called an "art style," and since OP didn't limit the genre of art style, then anything goes. It looks good for what it is

Why's that?

your calling me a tard and not expecting me to call you one back.
>not expecting this to spiral into a flamewar/shitpost marathon.

Wow you're dumb

Hỏa Phụng Liêu Nguyên
Whats the alternative title to english?

Why do anime/mangafags struggle to understand the concept of art being good outside of detail, polish and realism? Go to a fucking art gallery once in a while, jesus christ.

Legit question:

How long would it take me to reach this kind of artistic level without falling into the infamous deviantart quality?

The Ravages of Time, though I believe it's a word play on the literal translation of Fire Phoenix Scorches the Plains, which is also somewhat like a symbol of the two main protagonists.

Varies person to person, but mostly dedication. Most of the examples in this thread have been drawing for decades to get to the point where they're putting out what's being posted, but you'll be able to draw stuff of comparable quality within 5 years with dedication.

What makes their art good isn't so much what you're seeing, it's that they're able to draw them in a few hours in order to meet deadlines, and they're able to do that consistently for years on end.

Guts' punished boipussy.

That's just a poor mans Shigarui

It'll take years and years of dedicated study.

Inoue got bored of Vagabond, its not his story.

anyways these threads also end up realistic vs stylistic. I like realistic stuff as much as I like Takemitsu Zamurai

Could self study suffice? Or would i need a professional eventually?

Ravages has awesome art. Not just the actual drawing style (which is god tier already) but he has a way of creating really impactful, powerful pages. Admittedly half the time I don't know what's going on, but it always feels like something amazing is happening.

Sweet, sauce?

...

br please leave

>why is he pressing his knuckle into a pillow?

>wait, where did his finger go

thats not a pillow

>realism is a term used to describe something that's very detailed

please don't talk about thinks you so obviously don't know the first thing about

I think he realizes this, he's just letting us know what his initial thought process was.
Learn 2 greentext pls

I know he realizes this.
I said it anyway so I could reply.
Fuck off and kill yourself, you probably aren't even a fucking artist like me.

...

>you probably aren't even a fucking artist

I've always considered myself more of a businessman of fucking. Paunchy, pragmatic, and not the person you bring your money to if you're looking to have fun.

kill you are self

Ik that feel senpai
