Do you think leftists will ever start book-burning and censoring authors just because of their personal political beliefs? On my campus my American literature teacher said we would never read an HP Lovecraft story because he was a known racist, even though it barely shows up in his writing.

I waiting for when it get's to science and we have to start disregarding discoveries by known bigots

Aren't they more or less doing so already?

it's happened a gorrilion times before so, yes

you have no idea how far this has already gone. We can't even use didgeridoos in non-black porn because they're "misappropriated technology"

your post implies they can be used in black porn

It does show in his writing, but if you can't parse through it and get he was racist and and shit, well, you must be a retarded nigger

I know, I'm fuckin hilarious sometimes.

Lovecraft has no literary value, it's just pulpy entertainment so there's no reason to read him in an academic setting.

who does have literary value to you?

in england it is now against the law to say anything deemed "hurtful" by police, so yeah, its starting. maybe not in america yet

Happened already in Germany with Akif Pirincci. Just wasn't burning but "shreddering" with a machine. And censorship is very since literally decades. I know, because I'm a writer and literally my first novel was refused publishing for political reasons.

You have no idea how good you have it with your free speach and you take it for granted. Sad!

Against white genocide? Want to strike back against the terrorists in your country?

>Looks like you've had a bit much to think!

its not even the people that blast their opinions on jewbook that are the focus. its those who make the one or two slightly offensive posts. the reason is that ((they)) dont want normies to wake up

I had this argument with my teacher. She said that Lovecraft made this expansive Cthulhu mythos not because it represented fear of the unknown, but because it represented fear of minorities and non-whites. She literally thought Yog Sothoth and Cthulhu were symbols of black and brown people.

>Lovecraft has no literary value
>being this retarded

I agree. Although he's a great pulp writer nonetheless.
>Comparing the color of one's skin to creatures beyond our space and time?
Okay, that's ridiculous.(mainly because Lovecraft is fairly overt when he's being racist. )Maybe it's better if we don't have academics analyze this.

Who cares? The right is utterly morally bankrupt at this point that it doesn't matter what the left does.

>barely shows up in his writing
lmao

innsmouth is basically a squalid mixed human/fish race slum

the elder things bred a race of shoggoths to use as slaves and the narrator sympathises with the slave owners

then there are the explicit examples
>wrote a poem called "on the creation of niggers"
>included a cat in one of his stories called "niggerman"
>describes a character as having a "hatefully negroid mouth"

and all the shit i'm forgetting

The man has written a lot of things. These elements didn't show up nearly as much as, say, the word nigger in Huckleberry Finn.

The racism is the best part

user, they already are. English departments are starting to drop the Shakespeare requirement because Shakespeare was a whyte male and an anti-Semite.

Its a shame that Niggerman is a feature in the Rats in the Walls, because its one of his best stories overall with little racist content otherwise. I'd love to be able to recommend it to others but that one name keeps me from doing so.

But you're wrong.

t. Writer

They have before. They don't have to though since the political leanings of publishers, academia, and the arts are already left leaning.

every time he describes some jungle tribe or alien race he always makes note of them being of "mixed blood" or "poor stock" or some shit

it's pretty clear that he was /ourguy/

>literature teacher
>doesn't read one of the best authors of the 20th century because "he's racist"
>LITERATURE TEACHER

If you want a freshgenX take, it's this: People do all kinds of crazy things like naming their pets weird and wacky names. So why not interpret it as just the narrator being someone with poor taste?

besides that, "oh no, nigger, nyahhhh, not like the narrator doesn't get committed to an asylum at the end.

IMO his "racism" is justified if you tie it in with themes of "fear of the unknown"

Unknown races from far-off lands ties pretty strongly into this. Next thing you know, superstitions and rumours kick in about the "new immigrants" and the weird things they do, much like in real life. EX: Irish immigrants plotting to overthrow established religion with their own, rumors or documented stories of muggings in a poor black neighborhood at night, Muslims and their unusual customs.

Now, there's always "fearless" people, but I think as other people are the most relateable to us, they're also the most intimidating when they're less like ourselves.

Wow, sooooo deep dude. Like, racism and prejudice are just like because we have limited experiences man. Like the more we deal with other people the more we find that they're more like us than we thought. I never thought about it like that XD. Here, take some DMT... Yeah... Like ego loss is a bitch dude... Hey, did you see that video of the bison flipping over that car in Yellowstone? Pull that shit up Jamie.

niggerman the cat could write a better thesis than your beta teacher

...

Yes, this will definitely happen. I’ll go you one further and say that they will also attack and murder authors with whom the disagree

THis the more i had to deal with gypsys the more of a fascist racist it made me,the more black people i met it made me realize that some races are simply inferior to others.
If you go in with a open mind you will realize that stereotypes are there for a reason, its ironic how leftards say "have an open mind" yet they already have their preconcived notions planted in their head by the government and the media.

I wouldn't say inferior, I'd say incompatible. Sometimes the the lifestyle of
>subsistence farming and getting high every day
or
>hunting/gathering and licking frogs to get high everyday
Seems appealing however I prefer the western civilized way of
>farming a surplus, raising animals, using a little societal excess to build and grow infrastructure that prevents famine and disease, and get drunk everyday
Not a fan of the cosmopolitan money-slave/consumer good's-slave stuff that we have though

I guess it will be the writer of "Piccle Ricc" episode...

I like some of his stories a lot, but even he'd admit that he's no literary giant. He's like Stephen King or Robert Bloch, fun for an afternoon, but not something to scrutinize in a classroom setting.

Best works of King are actually heavenly inspired by Lovecraft...

Yeah I know. Doesn't mitigate my point.

...I can't tell if you're trying to mock me or agree with me. It's not "deeeep" but logical.

And honestly, a fair bit of the time we find out they're NOT like us. Culture shock is always super interesting to observe.

I thought King is taught american school... or not?

Wut. He has as much defined the entire genre of horror as Poe, and in the supernatural setting he just defined it straight out. He wrote the original literary analysis of the entire genre, "Supernatural Horror in Literature." It doesn't get much more academic than that.

How about Huckleberry Finn? The word nigger appears in almost every paragraph.
