ITT: jobbers done correctly

>Kuwabara
>jobber
A mulberry is a tree; Kuwabara's a man.

He isn't a jobber, though. He gets beat down a lot but when he's beat down he does it to himself through his own stupidty or because the enemy is genuinely fucking stupidly strong.

So was kuwabara like, the strongest human in the show? That's still pretty good yeah?

Yeah, he's basically the Krillin of Yuyu Hakusho

>Strongest human in the planet
>Best friends with a bunch of non-humans born to fight
>Gets best girl
>Always fighting enemies that are way above his league

Except that unlike Krillin he does win a few fights.

An IQ or sobriety test should be mandatory for creating threads.

You good, OP?

No, Sensui is.

Sensui dead tho
Kuwabara wins by default

Probably weaker than nonsensical kids of that pre-sensui detective.

>gets best girl
he didn't get Botan so you're wrong

A jobber is just anyone in a battle series whose sole purpose in one of the fights is to be beaten by some new threat/technique/whatever right?

...

I'm pretty sure a jobber is someone whose purpose is to lose in order to make the person that beat him seem more menacing and powerful.

Which doesn't really apply to Kuwabara since A. He actually wins a lot of his fights
and B. Everyone knows Kuwabara is weak so someone beating him doesn't mean shit.

His defeat of Older Toguro was fucking amazing

The sad part is that it seemed like Togashi was setting it up in that direction before Yukina appeared.

Botan was always singing his praises, and Kuwabara secretly thought she was cute.

Of course, in the anime, they turned him into a spaz who just drooled all over her, while she just considered him a nuisance

Ryoga only loses againts Ranma

Truth. Ranma's other rivals don't even come close

Okuyashu.

YYH > HxH

>Of course, in the anime, they turned him into a spaz who just drooled all over her, while she just considered him a nuisance

I remember a lot of moments early in the anime where Botan praised Kuwabara a lot for his bravery etc

This is my favorite character in anime I think. He helped me get through college. Honestly im dumb too, but hes showed me hard work does pay off

Sorry but no friend, YYH stopped being good at the end of the dark tournament.

As HxH it's consistently good throughout the series.

>jobbers
>done correctly
I'm sorry what?

How the fuck is Kuwabara a jobber? He beat the big cat on the first arc and then totally man up(yeah even more) and beat the shit out of Toguro big bro, I mean, are you stupid?

The Sensui arc is the best arc and it's better than anything in HxH. Basically all of HxH is ideas taken from YYH but worse and then overplayed.

Usopp

HxH stopped being good at Chimera arc.

I disagree with your statement.

The current arc is good though, hisoka is killing spiders left and right.

I respect your opinion but strongly disagree.

I'll save my opinions for the time it's finished, togashi can fuck up very hard or go big on the dark continent.

Yusuke>Gon
Hiei>>>>>>>>>>>>Killua
Kurapika>=Kurama
Kuwabara>Leorio

I'll agree to that the characters are better in YYH. I just prefer HxH story much more. Just a change in your ranks though.

Yusuke>Gon
Hiei>>kurama
Kuwabara>>>>leorio.

That's fine but you can't deny HxH is largely recycled YYH concepts and characters, that's mainly why I couldn't get into it.

I'd also wager that most people that put HxH above it saw HxH first and thought everything was completely fresh/new.

Awful list. Killua is a terrible character.

Kurapika and Kurama are literally the same character, the only reason you would feel strongly one way or another is through bias.

Killua is just plain shit though.

How the fuck is Hiei better than Killua? Go on, I'll wait.

>Kurapika and Kurama are literally the same character
They literally aren't and you know it.

>Jigen To
>Jobber
What?

Hiei carries the edgelord vibe far better and develops as a more fleshed-out character through his backstory in the final arc. He also never killed anyone just for the sake of it like Killua did, just to show how cool and edgy he is. He has a better aesthetic design and his relationship with the rest of the cast isn't completely one-sided.

Not that guy but I was had finished Yu Yu Hakusho before becoming aware of hxh and I still prefer hxh over it. I don't find Yu Yu Hakusho bad, but I do think that Hunter Hunter has a much more consistently good story and more interesting story overall. Taken as a whole Yu Yu Hakusho falls off after the Dark Tournament kind of rises a little bit when sensui does his thing and then dropped off entirely during Three Kings. The only time HxH really fell off was with Chimera ants and part of that was just because of the year long Hiatuses that marred the pacing.

I would say Kurama has much more control over his emotions and is more remorseless.
