I think he was killed before the shooting even happened. Look at the casing above his head, it's pink. It rolled in his blood. It would be impossible to kick the casing under him, or kick it over him as your breaching. the only explanation is that it rolled through his blood after flying through the air, meaning he was dead when the shooting was going on.

So he fell straight backwards like a plank, and his foot didn't bounce/flail up or to the side and knock it over. Just try to picture how that happened, it is almost comical.

You'll note he was using bi-pods for the guns, and was probably resting them on the seats by the windows. I very much doubt he was leaning out the window. Casings also tend to fly back and/or to the side from the gun rarely forward.
