There are a lot of things I don't get with regards to this story but one thing particularly bothers me: Stephen gambled 8 hrs long before the shooting. What is strange about that you might ask? Well, I was in a lot of different hotels in many different countries (not in the USA tho) and I never trusted that the cleaners or other hotel-personal wouldn't enter my room. In fact my room was cleaned/entered many times although I had this sign at the door which says "Don't enter, I am busy". How could he not be sitting behind the door all the time making sure nobody would enter and see the guns?

What does this all add up to? He could trust leaving a stack of guns and ammo in his room with no panic about house keeping. They'd presume he was getting ready for a hunting or shooting trip with like minded friends and/or whores. They wouldn't immediately jump to "this guy is going to start a mas shooting people soon". And why not think that? Not the first or second time that he had a hotel room full of guns and ammo.
Heck, some of the staff, particularly those that like guns, may have even talked about weapons with him, or gone out shooting with him. Whales are meant to be pampered and entertained, and nice ones tip well for indulging them in a bit of convo they like.

Wanna know what happened?
It was an arms deal sting operation which got turned on its head by the buyers.
Stephen Paddock was very obviously an undercover arms dealer working with the FBI who were running guns to domestic terrorist groups. Which is standard practice in order to track/leverage/incriminate or whatever specifically they wish to do with the buyer.
The buyers were probably Mossad, who would have learned it was a setup operation, and decided to use it to their advantage in order to stage a mass shooting. Which begs the question as to how they were able to leave the building afterwards.
The only way they were walking out of that hotel without being dragged into a van, or without entering into a firefight themselves, was if they made it appear to be a lone wolf mass shooting. Because the FBI would have no problem entering into a firefight with them in their apprehension after the deal went south and their man was killed, but they'd sure have a difficult time explaining why 13 armed agents stormed the lone wolf crazed gunman's hotel room 5 minutes after he started shooting. The potential for the real shooters to fire back in their escape from the building would be enough to incriminate the FBI as having been involved.
So they had to let them walk, and pin it on the undercover agent.

He was either shot in the chest, and coughed up blood, OR he was shoot in the roof of his mouth and the bullet did not fully exit his head.
If the latter is true, then the gun was bloodied and placed on his chest, and then likely moved as evidenced by the apparent blood trail on the carpet. I don't know why he would shoot himself in the chest though, inches away from the heart.
