Statistics on gun deaths

There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.000000925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:

• 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
• 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified
• 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – gun violence
• 3% are accidental discharge deaths

So technically, "gun violence" is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Well, first, how are those deaths spanned across the nation?
• 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago
• 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore
• 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit
• 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years)

So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause.

This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation, or about 75 deaths per state. That is an average because some States have much higher rates than others. For example, California had 1,169 and Alabama had 1.

Now, who has the strictest gun laws by far? California, of course, but understand, so it is not guns causing this. It is a crime rate spawned by the number of criminal persons residing in those cities and states. So if all cities and states are not created equally, then there must be something other than the tool causing the gun deaths.

Are 5,100 deaths per year horrific? Yes. How about in comparison to other deaths? Not really.
All death of course, is sad and especially so when it is in the commission of a crime but that is the nature of crime. Robbery, death, rape, assault all is done by criminals and thinking that criminals will obey laws is ludicrous. That's why they are criminals.

But what about other deaths each year?
• 40,000+ die from a drug overdose–THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT!
• 36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths
• 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide)

Now it gets good:
• 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer in Chicago than when you are in a hospital!

• 710,000 people die per year from heart disease. It’s time to stop the double cheeseburgers! So what is the point? If Obama and the anti-gun movement focused their attention on heart disease, even a 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths (including suicide, law enforcement, etc.). A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides......Simple, easily preventable 10% reductions!

So you have to ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, why the focus on guns? It's pretty simple.:
Taking away guns gives control to governments.

The founders of this nation knew that regardless of the form of government, those in power may become corrupt and seek to rule as the British did by trying to disarm the populace of the colonies. It is not difficult to understand that a disarmed populace is a controlled populace.

Thus, the second amendment was proudly and boldly included in the U.S. Constitution. It must be preserved at all costs.

(2/?)

So the next time someone tries to tell you that gun control is about saving lives, look at these facts and remember these words from Noah Webster: "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword, because the whole body of the people are armed and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. A military force at the command of Congress can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power."

Remember, when it comes to "gun control," the important word is “control," not “gun."

>tl;dr this is your argument redpill for why liberals wanting gun bans is retarded. Read it.

Shameless self Bamp. This is info people need to understand.

Don't ban guns , ban niggers.

Very insightful man it sounds like you did some reasearch. Sources?

Youre not wrong, user. Crime rates are significantly higher in black communities. Chicagos population is only like ~30% african american

bump excellent post my man.

Pretty good. Which stats are you using? FBI? Which year? I'd like to verify, source, and save for future repost.

Nice, saved text, was looking for a good explanation to throw into retarded liberal faces.

Thank you user

30,000 deaths are a lot. Ban guns

Unfortunately, liberals don't care about facts

Ban burgers, way more dangerous

People always say those cities have "strict gun laws" but never say what those laws actually are.

I'm convinced they don't exist.

>0.000000925%

just casually added 4 extra zeroes idiot fag

Honestly I was against guns before and solidly in favor of massively increasing restrictions but I can't really argue with any of this.

>200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors.
I was sure this was going to be false when I was checking your information but it's actually true and on the lower end of estimates.

You mean 2 extra zeroes right Pajeet?

That was a good zombie movie

Guns kill nearly 1,300 US children each year terrorism 0

>Now it gets good:
>• 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer in Chicago than when you are in a hospital!

I don't think that is as strong as an argument as you think it is. The fact that are you are in a hospital means that someone already believes your health is at risk. Likewise, your ability to be killed by a mistake is also relative to your poor health; if you're 25 and you go into a hospital your chance of being mistakenly killed is pretty low.

E.g., this would be like saying that "Almost 99% of people who go into Hospices DIE" therefore being in the hospice will almost certainly kill you.

Guns>no guns

Screencappin

Good shit user, screencaping for later

Bump

Assuming these numbers are roughly representative, this is the best common sense analysis and explanation of the gun issue I've seen.

Just imagine how the one incident in Vegas is going to skew the numbers nationally, much less statewide. 400 injured by a single guy, according to the Comp'd media.

I deployed these numbers against libtard friends on normie book and never had them continue the argument. Feels good man.

>Ban burgers
You take that back you son of a bitch

Op did his math wrong. It should be 0.00925%.
My guess is he divided by 100 instead of multiplying when converting to percentage. Easy mistake to make.

It was 5 am and i was on lunch at a graveyard shift because im a wageslave cuck. My bad.

Amen, Sir....great points....

There are literally NO new arguments. There could be mass shootings every day. The genie cannot be put back in the bottle.....Should the liberals magically make guns in the US dis-appear we would be victimized by mexican cartel armies from the south......

All gun laws do is to marginalize law abiding honest people. The good guys are powerless, while the bad guys keep all their weapons......

It is also a globalist narrative....

Post the cap here so I can save for later nigger

According to your graph Australia dropped 1.5 deaths per 100k with gun control while the u.s. dropped 5 deaths per 100k without it. Doesn't that mean not having gun control leads to a larger decrease in deaths?
(The answer is yes.)

>• 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer in Chicago than when you are in a hospital!
Following that reasoning:
>go to hospital to cure and ailment
>die of ailment
>go to chicago to shoot someone?
>get shot

...

Nice

Great job OP, buy you should add some sources so we can copy pasta this text.

>Guns kill nearly 1,300 US children each year terrorism 0
Source.

Nice work here, brother.

There's a medical term that (((they))) don't want you to know.

iatrogenic deaths - they hide these deaths behind this term

Have a bump for an excellent red pill.
"Criminals obeying the law ludicrous" Been saying this for years glad I'm not the only one aware of this little fact

I agree. We should put all the burgers in one place and get rid of all the minorities. For their own safety, of course.

This statistic counts all deaths of those 18 and under as children. Ignoring the fact that almost all of them were nigger gang bangers who were killed by other nigger gang bangers. Most of these "children" were nothing but early career criminals. And, "children" isn't really the correct term for the offspring of that species. They are called either glits or sprogs.

nice work anion

Look into CDC lists for cause of death. Accidental death due to falls is very high if I remember correctly. More so than gun deaths if I remember correct.

For those asking for sources:
As you can expect, different websites have provided only slightly different numbers than what has been illustrated in OP. However, with the shear massive percentages of actual incidents in proportion to the grand scheme of things, none of any of these sources have any margins anywhere near close enough to changing the argument. Its also worth noting I kept the percentages for all metrics on the low end when actual numbers were much higher in some areas (e.g. traffic deaths according to national safety council were actually higher as with heart disease) due to multiple sources

But most of my statistics have stemmed from:

cdc.gov
heyjackass.com
gunviolencearchive.org
drugabuse.gov
The American Heart Association
nsc.org (National Safety Council)
hopkinsmedicine.org

Sorry for no links, phonefag

Thank you.

Your truly doing Gods work OP

Can someone post the screencap for later usage please? Thank you.

Awesome run down, OP
I'm gonna go ahead and comp this thread for you

>65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
Debatable. The decision to commit suicide is based on a ton of factors, many people who attempt suicide and fail either due to a bungled suicide, being talked down, or simply being subdued or detained before they can attempt it never carry out a suicide after that. It is quite likely that many people who killed themselves were able to primarily because they had a seemingly quick and easy way to carry it out. While outlawing guns wouldn't end suicide it very well might prevent large numbers of suicides.

>mfw this excellent post is on page 7 and people are instead replying to bait threads and memes
When did it all go oh so wrong?

OP here, i agree.
If i had to choose between killing myself with a gun vs. Slicing my wrist, i'd choose the gun any day of the week as it provides a quick and easy death. By not having access to firearms, many people would simply not kill themselves at least long enough to decide that they would rather live. However, the reason i chose to point out the differences in overall percentages was for the simple fact that almost every article you read talking about gun control nationwide is in resposnse to gun violence through criminal activity. Nobody gives a damn until someones head gets blown off in a heated exchange. I suppose if you want, you can also go ahead and throw in police related shootings that werent justifies but thats an entirely different argument all together that still doesnt actually change the outcome nor the main point.

Sad!

>LAND OF THE FREE

What's your point, Vlad?

Just bumping the thread, Ólaf.

Honestly, amerilards would be more affected by banned sodas than banned guns.

there ya go lads

Not only that, but I did some basic number crunching on this one and came to the conclusion that it would cost around 1T on the most optimistic side to seize everyones gun in the US. In reality it would cost about 10 trillion

ANTED. You had one fucking job

You are preaching to the choir here.

What are you talking about?
It's perfectly readable, if you have troubles go see an optician, seriously.

It's pretty shit user

Here is a chuckle.

According to this chart over 100k die per year due to malnutrition.

good job OP, bump

Good man

You forgot to mention that it's mostly NIGGERS that kill with guns

Looks to me like the Australian trend was unaffected by the new law. Univariate analysis sucks

You could always get your fat ass of the couch, take the dildo out of you anus, and go look it up.

Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence ranks Illinois 8th among the ten states with the strongest gun laws.

Illinois is also one of only four states that imposes a waiting period on the purchase of all firearms.

Illinois concealed carry applicants are required to take a 16-hour training course – the longest in the nation.

Any person traveling through the Chicago area with a firearm must carefully consider their route, especially if their trip takes them through a jurisdiction where Chicago, Cook County, or municipal restrictions have them unintentionally violating one of the local ordinances.

Excellent job, OP. I'll be doing my part to spread it.

well there is an obvious drop right after but it was already on a downward trend.

all of this data and analysis all because we are not allowed to introduce the premise that minorities are the problem. We will forever walk around that fact until they have inched us to the edge.

>why not post a video of one of those shooting liek an automatic
Do you really want the ATF actually knocking at your door? That's a crime in both your and my country.
