Trump's Battery Theory

>After college, after Trump mostly gave up his personal athletic interests, he came to view time spent playing sports as time wasted. Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. So he didn’t work out. When he learned that John O’Donnell, one of his top casino executives, was training for an Ironman triathlon, he admonished him, “You are going to die young because of this.”

does anyone else think this is true? i've tried to bulk up and stuff but when i cross a certain line it just leaves my body aching and like an old man, but when i decrease my activity and take it easy the pain goes away and getting about in regular life is easier. i think his battery theory means that we all have certain limits to how much we can do every day and if we go over that limit it takes a serious toll on our health.

all moving parts to a machine have a limited number of uses

>John O’Donnell, one of his top casino executives, was training for an Ironman triathlon, he admonished him, “You are going to die young because of this.”

Did he died?

Moderate exercise is good. People overdo it for their Facebook and Instragram pics. Many of the people that compete in marathons and iron man competition are just narcissist. They wear out their knees and shoulders. How much are you exercising?

you need to stay in shape but pushing your body to limits by competing into your 40s is dangerous
I know a few people that kept working out into their 40s even some who started steroid and they died young in their 50s or early 60s

working is good, as soon as you stop you fucking rot, however you do need to slow down when you age

Are you idiots fucking serious? Working out, especially weight lifting, maintains you for life if you keep it up.

I think the ancedote was less of a literal explanation than his image of a limited number of moves to make, so to speak.

Increasing your metabolic rate decreases your lifespan. Get enough exercise to stay healthy, but not so much that it requires excessive caloric intake to stay fueled.

You need to keep the pace as you age. Do you want to be some dumb old fuck who can barely walk because his diet and exercise were shit for life.

Exercise is required
Idealy you should reach the level 5 of physical stress from running and shit.
When your heart wants to fuck you up basically and with this it becomes more capable of handling it.
Go drink your soda fucking pleb.

I love this place, one thread says smoking is good, this thread says working out is bad.

It's true.

My grandmother worked her entire life and all of her joints are no fucked up. She can almost not even walk anymore.

done moderately exercise can be one of life's pleasures, but Trump is basically right. Honestly, besides Jack LaLane, what other health guru lived to an old age?

Being in good cardiovascular health (from fucking exercise) lowers your resting heart rate. This can directly lead to longer life , given the frequency of cardiac event deaths.

Taking it to excess can certainly shorten life. Look at body builders. Those guys drop dead so often Tnation used to have. A death pool. Not just drug related. Plenty of those guys stop competing and still drop dead in their 60s. That's an extreme example though. Let's not conflate this kind of thing with general fitness.

What Trump said might have been true though, depending on the guys fitness level age, and how hard he was training.

That's bullshit Vince McMahon is still jacked like a Greek Adonis and he and Trump are about the same age.

stay active, don't "work out"

Best way to stay active is with physical hobbies on top of your regular job.
Here are a few:
1. Woodworking
2. Shade Tree Mechanic
3. Gardening
4. Raising Animals
5. Building projects

Pretty much just always have something productive going on until it is dark outside, then shitpost at night. You will feel good, get fresh air, and have a long life.

You aren't meant to be inside or do crossfit, you are meant to be productive outside during the day.

There's definitely something in what Trump is saying. Ironman events and marathons are probably detrimental to long term health. Moderate exercise like a short run or decent bike ride are enough for most adults.

want to highlight that my grandpa is 85
>plays music with his church
>plays 42 2 days a week with a group of guys
>cuts hair (mil barber)
>restores old cars
>has major house projects going on continuously

Guy has had a few health problems, can't hear for shit, but he just keeps moving and doing.

Running more than 4 miles a day has positive correlation with early mortality (excess aerobics tear heart muscle) and weight lifting has a positive correlation with increased life span.

This. My grandpas the same way, getting your exercise while doing something productive is best. Clean the house or work on something.

>Bout damn time Sup Forums took this seriously.

HI! Former alphabet guy and psysicist.
Yes, I look like Gordon Freeman; fuck off.

TL;DR: Trump has minimal but sustainable access to a Dimension of Energy. Hence the 4DChess. He's been using it for God-knows how long. We're trying to make the hole bigger.

:)

so workout while smoking, you colossal retard

The Japanese have it right. The less you move, the less you eat, the less you emote, the longer you live. Trump is merely oversimplifying.

It depends what kind of exercise. Low impact stuff like hiking is great. Running just wears out your knees.

Tell your girlfriend to do hula. Look hot and live long, I think Jean Erdman is like 101.

No it's a stupid theory and that's probably because trump just wanted to be rich and fuck bitches, due to his poorer genetics which didn't make him as physically appealing.

As long as you eat well, balance your lifestyle well GET ENOUGH SLEEP, there's a good chance you will have a long and prosperous life.
