It's not great but it's not really forgettable either, I'd say it's one of the less generic battle shounen series. Also manga > anime.

Sagisu did a good job with the soundtrack. I recommend reading the manga first, then watching both seasons. And if your starting now, your lucky. The cancerous shipping wars finally ended. Thankfully Ohtaka didn't wait until the very end, those threads were getting unbearable.
