I can't stop watching footage from that night, it's so surreal. Not just because of how terrifying an event like this is but because the crowd's response and how long it took them to realize their situation is incredible. This vid for instance:

Alright, so why is it we've never seen a single piece of footage from inside the Bataclan after the shooting began? We know people were recording, since we've seen footage taken right before it started. The simple answer is that everyone in there was busy fucking running for their lives, which means they clearly understood what was going on. And when it came to the Station Nightclub fire there were people moving toward the exit the moment they saw fire.

Wiki for the festival says 22,000 attendance. He was basically lucky enough to not see anyone get hit. Say 100 people get shot, that's only 0.45% of the crowd. Takes long for the reality of the situation to travel. Before that point you can say "oh, probably just firecrackers".
Bataclan capacity is 1,500. Pretty instant from when it starts to the whole crowd being aware.
Look at video of the Ariana Grande bombing, which has attendance somewhere in the middle probably. Explosion didn't occur inside the venue, either. You can see a noticeable delay as one group of people figures out shit is going down, and then it travels through the crowd. This shit has probably been studied.

I dunno. Even if I was wasted I still feel like I'd have some kind of immediate reaction if I was in a place like that and started those noises. There were many people already shouting that those were gunshots when they first started - the second I heard people say that I'd be out of there or at the very least taking cover behind something sturdy.
Then again I was nearby when the Boston Marathon Bombing happened and recently had to scare an intruder out of my apartment so maybe I'm just really heightened to surprises now.
If everybody rushed to the same exits it could make it worse. People getting trampled plus a nice collection of people all in one spot for whoever is attacking.
I suppose I would run asap if I was by myself or with someone that was quick enough, if I knew I could get to the exits before the crowd, but then again in this age of cameras everywhere you might get noticed as a massive faggot, only thinking about yourself, being a coward etc. Even though if it were a terrorist attack a lot of people bring it on themselves for not voting to ban Muslim immigration.
Also I find when you're in a crowd sometimes you feel a sense of comradery with them, just human nature I guess.
