I was in Italy last week, and noticed this too. The Milan Centrale train station is an example, a beautiful 1930's building with columns and eagles everywhere. It reflects well on modern Italians for not erasing their Fascist history, and also on their noble Roman ancestors who inspired it.

The point is that racism wasn't a key point in fascist ideology since 1) we had almost no stranieri in Italy back then 2) being "racist" was the absolute norm all over the world, not just in Italy Race was an irrelevant topic outside of the new world and Germany simply because most countries were ethnostates or close to it
