Just about everything

Music, designs, characters, plot (even though the first have was much better than the second)

and you know its good because of all the contrarian hipsters

Would rewatch just for Guts

You gotta commend it for begging for the internet to make Porn of itself

Ryuko.

Satsuki>Ryuko

...

wrong'

strawpoll.me/563819/r

We're talking as a whole, not just an anatomical part

The first half.

It needed to be shorter
The middle half is worthless, while the start and ending are both pretty good

Relaxed and casual nudity past episode 3.

>cutting Nui's arrival, Takarada and Satsuki's betrayal
What?

Ryuko.

Everything.

This episode.

I think the episode aired on boxing day and Sup Forums assumed it was Ryuko's brother or something.

Fuck it was so great to watch the livestream where everyone was wrong.

That episode was animated like shit and the start of the decine of the production values of the show.

>you want male love interest?
>TOO BAD! HERE NUI! FUCK U!

Nui was the best thing about this mediocre series.

Wrongest post in a long time.

Someone post NANI SORE!

Nui is Ryuko's one true love interest.

...

everything after the school satsuki's betrayal was terrible and a waste of time

Fight Club Mako.

Mako

Is there any art of her drawn like Snake Plisken?

Watch the better version now

The characters.
Them and their banter alone are able to carry the show even when the animation is shit and nothing really interesting is happing.
It's the main thing KLK has over TTGL's bland ass cast of no name supporting characters.

Just like your life after high school.

Faggot.

Not that I know of. Snake Plisken is best Snek.

Both of them. You might like one more than the other, but they are both great.

The better version of what?

my life was terrible all the way through high school

>What went right?
The porn. I literally picked it up to understand what the fuck I was actually fapping to.

Nah.

It was literally the same old Sawano shit he always makes, complete with German.

Nothing special.

There's barely any good porn.

Wow nice shit taste right there senpai

This.

>that Nonon ass
Jesus.

Surpassed Gurren Lagann

Lurk more faggpt

How is she gonna fit all that? Luckily she has a big mouth

That ship felt forced and annoying.

Literally just the first 5 episodes.
Then it went from good to decent.
Than nui appeared out of nowhere and all the plot to follow was ruined.

It's incredible how much I enjoy the first few episodes because it felt the show had a solid direction and character motivation with just enough hint of backstory to keep you hooked.

Than it started feeling generic right with Mako's predictable story line. The monkey guy too was super predictable. It wasn't bad just somewhat generic with the exception of the presentation.
Than of course, the opposite, a completely unpredictable plot development which lead to a super lack luster transformation that never gets brought up again.
Nui completely ruined this show. Ryuuko lost direction, lost her way. There was no central theme or plot that the show was grounded on. At least with the dad thing I could feel like she was pursuing her goal and wanted to see her succeed, even if it was obvious Satsuki didn't do it.

Ryuuko's character motivation just completely shits itself. When she says she is battling for her friends on that one episode with tokyo tower I finally lost hope. What fucking friends? Mako, her family, her uniform? That is literally it. How the fuck could you play that trope super straight like that?

Her character development was the worst thing about the show.
If Satsuki was the main protagonist honestly the show probably would've met the hype.

You must have very low standards.

>mouth

This isn't your blog user.

The first twelve or so episodes before Nui appears and the quality of the show goes down the shitter.

Seriously, I don't understand how anyone can unironically say anything after Nui isn't a complete mess.

That's subjective. I have repeatedly been told I've got shit taste on the matter so perhaps my judgement has little value, but what I've found is compatible with my taste so it's fine.

I mean look at this: exhentai.org/g/731288/e6cc1f8340/
Fucking Hirame, makes my dick diamond hard every single time. I picked up Dagashi Kashi for the same fucking reason (the porn for that one is even better).

>MC sets out for revenge but then finds things she wants to protect
That's actually pretty common. Even Ninja Slayer played this trope.

The ost, character designs, voices and first half were great but it went to shit afterwards, it tried way too hard to be epic.

>Right

Please consider sudoku

I know that people will ship everything, but I still don't get why so many fags pushed Mako and Gamagori so much, they barely interact.

It's not uncommon its just executed badly.
It would've been much better if they focused on Senketsu as the reason because they had a real good relationship. Make it out like people are trying to take over senketsu or some shit.
Than instead of her talking about friends as her motivation she could say senketsu and it would be really good for their characters.

What happens most of the time is the relationship with senketsu tends to stop or abate the plot line instead of pushing it forward. Like when she says she won't wear him again, or when she says shes disgusted by him.
One of the greatest moments of the first half is when Senketsu tells the sewing needles guy to fuck off. It was a great showing of how their relationship has tighten and actually pushed the plot forward instead of abating it.

...

Explain yourself

>I know that people will ship everything, but I still don't get why so many fags pushed Mako and Gamagori so much, they barely interact.
duality

First episode.
Character design.
OST
The porn.

That's about it. It's a solid 3/5 show.

Episodes 1-7 are great.

the series ships them without any fans doin' shit

Everything.

Anyone hating it is a contrarian faggot or mad that their fan theories didn't pan out.

i love that the school ended up being a giant mech, even if the oav wasnt great

>Than instead of her talking about friends as her motivation she could say senketsu and it would be really good for their characters.
But she was talking about him, plus Mako was in the middle of the battle zone so it's just logic for Ryuko to mention her too.
And not wearing Senkestu didn't abate anything, on the contrary it started the whole Junketsu Ryuko plotline, what are you talking about?

They only started shipping them after the fandom said they liked the cople.

Most of the plot was bad. I had no emotional investment in any of the characters because they were so damn retarded or bland, so the attempts to be "epic" and "cuhrazy" just fell flat. It felt like a generic anime trying to be another TTGL.

Nui was the cutest girl and the only thing I ended up liking about the show in the end.

Everything.

>all those bad opinions
>liking Nui
No surprise.

>What went right

The fact that you could differentiate who had shit taste based on what they said about it.

more so than most other anime

Greatest love story ever told

It wasn't Nakashima's Getter Robo self-insert fanfiction like TTGL was.

Exactly, that's literally the only good doujin.
>tfw no Pinvise Ryuko book

Instead it was his Cutie Honey feat. Devilman fanfiction, woah.

Can Devilman be a cutie?

>she was talking about him, plus Mako
That's the problem. It should've been senketsu and maybe mako as an after thought. It would've meant a lot more. And its not like she was fighting to protect Senketsu because she constantly put him in harms way. Thats why they should've developed a plot line involving senketsu being in danger.
That relationship is what is really unique and good about this show and they just waste it. It should've been the new driving force of her motivation.

When I say slow the plot, I really should just say extends it. Anything can be plot if something happens but what it did specifically was stop the progression towards the overall plot end. It would've been fine if it happened once but it happened twice and makes the character dynamic worse off.
There needed to be more scenes of her talking about how she is doing this for Senketsu. If there was I guarantee the tons of people who hate the second part would be much smaller.

But Senketsu was in danger, it was scattered and Satsuki had the last piece.
And people say they dislike the second part because they miss the point of the show, and you do too since you say "it happened twice", which it doesn't.

Uh there is a plotline where Senketsu has to be rescued, the raid trip. It's also the arc that Ryuko realizes wearing Senketsu us what she truly desires more than anything. And when after the Junketsu crisis Ryuko tears off her own skin yelling she'd rather die than not be able to wear Senketsu, it's pretty front and center.

TTGL is the best anime of all times
>interesting plot
>great animation
>amazing soundtrack
>character development
>badass MC
It's a masterpiece everyone will be talking about in 10 years.

Maybe for the first arc, the second is pretty bad

Thanks doc
Here's your (You)

[citation needed]

Thanks to it everyone realized trigger is a shit studio

First off, I mean a complete plot line. Something that is a driving force to the end.
As a reason for Ryuuko to have character motivation and as a central ground in the show so we as viewers can remain grounded and hold expectations.

Part 2 lacked a central theme or grounding force. Everything felt disconnected or directionless, which is what most people complain about this latter part of the show. You two realize that right?

Second off, that plotline where he gets scattered is what I was complaining about. It is a result of Ryuuko being stupid with her relationship and refusing to wear him. It felt stupid because it was just a plot device to have Ryuuko go to all these battles and retread already established character progression.
>it happened twice", which it doesn't.
How many times have you watched this show? I could say it happens three times if you count the very first time too where she doesn't want to "wear" him out of embarrassment.
And then again right before he gets cut up
and then when she goes "edge" mode. Not that I think its edgy but just as a reference point.
The plotline is tired. Worse of all it hurts the character relationship because the latter two times it happens makes it feel like a stupid plotline that feels like it resets her character progression.

They started shipping them from the moment they met when she stood up to him and he promised he'd remember her. It was also the first moment that humanized the devas and implied they weren't bad people.

Nui coming into existence threw the entire anime down a hole it only barely managed to crawl back out of in the final few episodes.

Came here for this

Hue animated that cut?

I don't agree, the first time Ryuko gets over her embarassment to get to know Senketsu. The second time she is afraid of hurting him again by letting her emotions get to her and overcomes it when she realized wearing him is more important to her than anything. And the last time she is disgusted in herself and can't face him because he's her mirror bit because he's like her he shows her she isn't a monster. Ryuko and Senketsu's relationship is the main plotline, they overcome all their individual shortcomings and become better people through it.

Kill yourself moeshitter.

>Part 2 lacked a central theme or grounding force. Everything felt disconnected or directionless, which is what most people complain about this latter part of the show.
The central theme of the whole show is Ryuko's struggle with her identity, that is the centre of the narration through all the story.
Not wanting to wear Sanketsu is a metaphor of whater issues she's facing in a given moment that makes her doubt herself.
Her development never reverts and she never faces the same issue twice.
She first refuses to wear him because she's scared of losing control out of anger again and lost a real reason to fight. It's logical and not forced in the slightest after what happened. Then she refuses to wear him because she rejects her newfound identity. Again, different situation and completely justified.

>implying Imaishi could ever make something even close to the masterpiece that is Lucky Star
He has to resort to milking the parent's money of children who loved TTGL back when it aired just to keep his studio alive.

Everything was great until Nui and the reveal behind life fibers and aliums and shit.

I would have rather had the second half be Satsuki and her academies facing off against Ragyo and her fashion corp with plenty of crazy "modern fashion" type clothing monstrosities and models to fight. Or something besides Covers. I dunno.

Episode 4

>implying

Post a more memorable shot from the last 5 years.
Protip: you can't.
