I'm a 90's kid (b. 1994) and I used to play footy, ride bikes and generally fuck about with the kids in my area - you were treated as a weirdo if you decided to stay in all the time and rightly so. Nowadays, the gardens where we used to play are empty of people, when before there would be 40+ kids after school. We were literally the last of a dying breed and after us no one took our place.

I was born in 91. The 90's are criminally underrated. Newer generations are pretty screwed from what I can see here in Florida. I was raised without a smart phone or politically charged social media. Also there was no LGBT+ degeneracy which was nice. Good times.

I used to spend most of my time outside with friends until I was about 12. Then I turned 13 and became super awkward and introverted and haven't changed since. Sucks.
Same age, when I was a kid I'd play with other kids from school at parks nearby and just general exploring the neighbourhood by ourselves without any adults. My parents would even kick me out of the house if I hadn't been outside sometimes.
I think it might just be because my parents are both boomers so they just did that because that's what they did as kids. Kids these days have Millenials for parents.

I was born in the early 70s (yeah, I'm old) and I used to roller skate, alone, from one end of my city to the other. No one batted an eye.
Used to go out for Halloween from 7PM until 11PM, alone or with a friend, and no one batted an eye. I'm talking when I was 11-13 or so.
Now Halloween, where I live, lasts about an hour and every kid has an adult with them at the sidewalk waiting.
