What if I hate all the shows in this starter pack?

>Yes I spelled Elitist wrong because I hate all the shows here.

You are a hardcore contrarian, you are stupid, or you just don't like intelligent anime, which is fine.

Not sure if Fate/Zero belongs there.

One of the defining elitist characteristics is hating on Urobuchi, it doesnt belong there

Lady Oscar was goat

Most of them are pretty awful.

Take out Bebop and F/Z

>Shit: Zero and JJBA on there

I wish posting anything from TM was a bannable offense. Fucking retards.

>No Moe
>Superior

This is the Reddit and MAL anime starter pack.

>Elitist
>all entry level shit

Where do you think you are?

>I wish posting anything from TM was a bannable

Fate/Stay Night VN is superior to them all. There is a reason F/SN is the most popular franchise in Sup Forums.

>well know mainstream anime
>elitist

I don't understand.

On Sup Forums obviously

This. There's not even any Satoshi Kon shit in there, and he's entry-level as fuck.

I would also recommend addding 1001 Nights and Pale Cocoon, although both are a bit more niche.

Fate is easily one of the oldest presences on Sup Forums and Sup Forums has thus been the source of numerous nasuverse memes, going all the way back to when the Deen anime spawned "gar" nine years ago. It's only with the release of the UBW anime, and the influx of teenage secondaries backlashing against the post-2011 hype, that an actual hate base has emerged.

What is the show next to Ashita No Joe with the qt white haired loli?

Tenshi no Tamago, one of the best anime ever made

Angel's Egg, you fucking plebeian.

>Fate/Stay Night VN is superior to them all. There is a reason F/SN is the most popular franchise in Sup Forums.

F/SN fags are the cancer of Sup Forums.

Then you're just double hipster i.e. still pleb.

Feel free to leave our board.

>Fate is easily one of the oldest presences on Sup Forums

I'm aware, doesn't change the fact that seeing anything TM related in the catalog annoys the fuck out of me.

Only time I don't care is when Aoko is posted, she's easily the best looking character that TM has made.

>anime hipsters

Well known doesn't naturally mean bad. Sup Forums loves JoJo, the most normalfag shit there is.

I did not say those were bad.

I don't think you guys know what elitist mean.

Half of those are entry level shit

Have you ever experienced being surrounded by Anime elitist? They fucking worship Jojo and every season that Jojo appears in modern anime it automatically becomes the best and only good show of that season.

>anime elitist

More like normalfags who only watch mainstream stuff and call everything ''THE BEST SHIT EVER DOOD!''

Madoka is better than Utena anyone who disagrees are hipsters

>no moe
>Haibane Renmei
>Evangelion
>JoJo
>Lain
>Etena
>Rose of Versailles

go with the "am I cool yet" or the tryhard starter pack, it's more apt.

How is Fate and JoJo elitist? They are silly shounen shows.

If you've ever been outside of Sup Forums you'll know that most elitists bum off cowboy bebop and jojo's bizarre adventure

Fate is an 18+ VN with a manga adaptation being published in a seinen magazine, and Jojo is seinen since part 7. Are you retarded?

>Zero secondaries being "elitist"

Loving every laugh.

Why the fuck is fate/shit in that image? It's pleb incarnate.

>elitist
>all commercial trash
How laughable

>No Millenium Actress and atleast one Miyazaki film.

>JoJo
>Fate/Zero
>Cowboy Bebop

Only one of these 3 shows actually deserves to be on there. If you can accurately name which one it is, it means you MAYBE don't have completely shitty taste.

It's not necessarily wrong. Pleb and elitist are hardly mutually exclusive. Look at all the Nolanfags.

Except fate/zero does not fit that catagory. Cowboy Bebop and Eva are examples of shows that are enjoyed by both Patricians and Plebs.

Fate/Zero is just mindless garbage. It's entertaining, but hardly "Good" from an artistic standpoint.

I'm not, Stardast Crusaders is shounen. Fate/Zero was based on novels which I never read nor care. I didn't know whether the manga adaptation was shounen or not but the story and characters were so generic and silly I always thought it was one. But then again Tokyo Ghoul is also seinen, seinen doesn't mean mature.

Could you make it more obvious that you didn't read or watch it? Zerofags are cancer but it's far from a mindless series
youtube.com/watch?v=6wyk5tGYTjY

>tfw I loved all those shows and nearly all my all time favourites are in there
Suck it faggot

Better version

>Better version
Without all those shit comment yes.

so mature

What if i say i like all of those shows?

You're just a contrarian like everyone on Sup Forums.
You'll get over that phase when you turn 18 probably.

Maybe "Mindless garbage" is a bit exaggerated, but it's far from anything special from an artistic standpoint. It's like FMA tier, which is to say, it's a solid show, but it's doesn't do anything really explorative visually, thematically, or symbolically. There's not a whole lot under the surface, and it doesn't take a genius to understand the show.

If you want to talk about a show which with Zero in the name that actually does do a good job of hiding a deeper story under the surface of what would just appear to be a normal anime, then that would be Re:Zero. Watching Sup Forums sperg out over Subaru in what's a deconstruction of the anime Fantasy genre has been one of the best pleb tests yet.

that's completely fine as long as you aren't a tryhard fag about it

>no moe
>no Wangan Midnight or Initial D

I don't know user, I genuinely like those shows. I think my tastes have less to do with elitism and more to do with being intolerant to shitty writing.
Most anime series tend to prioritize fanservice or pandering over any meaningful narrative. Often times the greats are those few series that reject this philosophy and work towards what the series wants to do.
An example of a good series that does not have the typical elements of the so-called elitist shows is Baccano. It refrains from trying to say anything profound. It doesn't try to be deep or analytical. It is just fun and follows the "rule of cool." That being said, it doesn't compromise its complex narrative in favor of tension breaking fanservice or out of place pandering. Rather it focuses on making characters unique and create a grand narrative.
Too many times we have shows with interesting concepts that serve only as a means to hook the consumer while just copying the same, tiring, formula (be it escapist harems, or edgy violent shows posing to be deep) instead of actually focusing on that concept.

>but it's doesn't do anything really explorative visually, thematically, or symbolically
It doesn't, but I don't think it was trying to. Most of its depth comes from its relation with the original VN and how it contrasts certain things. It's a solid prequel.

...

What the fuck is this piece of shit?

Someone should make a sakugafag starter pack.

that's what elitism is.

>anime
>intelligent

>using mpc-hc
>instead of mpv

You're exactly the kind of guy that OP's image is making fun of

Perfect. The typical elitist 16 yo fuckshits from MAL really like these shows.

You are a retarded piece of shit who needs to fuck off.

What anime do you like user?

astroboy, berserk the list goes one

So accurate it hurts

Cel animation was objectively better

I see. Why do you suppose elitists are shamed then? It seems like there is a justifiable reason to be an elitist though. Is it because people are insulted that people like me don't like their favorite anime?

literally me

cuz you miss the point of animation as a medium
go read a book

Those are mostly pretty good shows actually

Eww Urobuchi.

>Why do you suppose elitists are shamed then?
It's to help them get over their pretentious arrogance phase everybody experiences at some point.

people just want to enjoy their Chinese cartoons and not think about them.

...

FYI anime elitism is the other side of weeb-scale. They are literally the same weeaboos as your typical Narutard-desu-IwanttoliveinJapan fags.

MAL is the ideal place for them and they are less than 17. Oh, and don't forget they don't have their opinions about nothing. They're just copying the other shit eater.

What is then point then?
>Go read a book
That's implying there's no garbage literature out there.
That makes no sense. If an anime has no plot with a boring self insert protagonist why should I idolize it? Critical thinking and recognizing the flaws of a series does not equate to not enjoying a show by the way.
I don't need to think about Baccano (for example) and it has a superior narrative to most garbage (that I also don't need to think about). Good anime doesn't mean it's one that is deep. I explained this already.
MAL is the place that has Gintama in the top 10 FIVE times. Why should I go to a place that censors contrarian opinion?

...

Remove Jojo, HunterxHunter, Inferno Cop, Trigun, Hajime no Ippo, too obvious shit like: "too dumb to understand it", "90s kid" and "Corey in the House XD".
Make the whole thing a bit more "classy and refined". Don't use poster or cover images from the anime but impressive frames or something.

Anyone who doesn't like SAO, my favorite anime, is an elitist. If you point out the flaws of SAO and make a legitimate argument that I can't defend against then you are a 17 year old pretentious elitist.

...

okay mom

I don't like mecha anime, and I don't like any of those.

But nobody is forcing you to idolize it. You can say you don't like the show and present your points but you shouldn't act as if you are always right and your taste is superior.

See I never implied I am always right. Simply presenting my points is enough to get others so defensive that they call me an elitist. It's peculiar.
And define superior taste. In terms of narrative then yes some series are better than others.

There's nothing wrong with not liking cliche harems and what not. The annoying elitists are the ones that are prejudiced against anything that doesn't fit their 80s classic anime only taste. For example, hating on Monogatari for being a harem, hating Madoka because it has cute girls or hating on Hibike for being "moeshit".

Of course, if you don't have interest in modern anime, that's fine too. Don't force yourself to watch stuff you're not interested in. You can choose to only watch 80s anime if you so want. Just stop thinking that somehow makes you more cultured, smart and "patrician", and stop shitting on people that like modern anime.

That's the problem, not every anime is being made for the purpose of creating a "thought provoking" narrative.

I mean you have every right to dislike "cute girls doing cute things" slice of life anime and shit but calling them bad because they don't have some big epic space opera narrative would be like calling a porn video shit because it didn't have a thought provoking narrative that makes you question the nature of politics.

As long as you don't act like your opinions are always truth and call people who don't have the same preferences as you inferior you can like whatever you want.

I mean I love ghost in the shell and mushishi for example but I also like many slice of life anime, I watch different anime for different reasons.

>What if I hate all the shows in this starter pack?
Then you're a faggot.
Although I have no idea why someone put Fate and Stardust Crusaders there

Okay, that's understandable. But I never implied every anime's purpose is for a thought provoking narrative. I already listed an example that goes against this notion: Baccano.

And it's understandable to not be obnoxious about one's opinions and call others inferior just because they don't have the same tastes.

Not him but:
It-s not like we think an anime NEEDS to be thought provoking or any of that shit, but fanservice is just dull as fuck and thus shows that refrain from that tend to be just... that. More fun.

You are completely right user and not "elitist" in any way, it's just that most of the people that post on Sup Forums are the bottom of the barrel weeaboo losers retards

Not having fanservice isn't a guarantee that a show doesn't have anything else to offer and vice versa fanservice doesn't stop a show from having other interesting aspect.

This

It's just dull. If you're a virgin who needs a waifu I guess those shows can be good but I personally don't get off to seeing cartoon panties.

Not that user. That is correct. It's only a problem when the fanservice distracts from the narrative and takes away from the plot- which, unfortunately, is often the case.

And by fanservice, I mean this in totality, not just the kind of fanservice that exists to give you an erection.

The ones who call other "elitist" are the biggest of them.
They pride themselves of their ignorance and can't accept criticism.

i would literally kill myself if i ever became so braindead that i watched any anime that had "fanservice"

Most shows that rely on fanservice that much don't have an interesting narrative to begin with and if a narrative is truly interesting it can't be ruined by stuff like that.

Don't watch them then. No one cares.
