Also, what do you yhink of the new atomic bomb design by professor Kurata ?

Spoil us on the storyline as the manga will never be translated anyways.

I've downloaded the French version and what I can tell about it is that :

Puyi, emperor of Mandchuko is assassinated by Kusaka, which allows Japan to slowly withdraw its forces under the pretext of needing soldiers to protect civil order. Ishiwara is reinstated as general unlike in our history because he agreed to make excuses to a Tojo's government official. This was thanks to the meeting with Kusaka which changed his views on the war. Ishiwara then meet Mao and unoficially support the commhnist party, this triggers the US and they realizes that Japan fighting (winning) against the red was not a bad thing.

This and a lot of similar event (Bombay air raid by Japan causing nationalists uprising in India) which didn't occur in our timeline make it possible for Japan to withdraw more forces (evacuation of Kiska and Attu by the Mirai) to strenghen a last defensive position in Saipan. Yamamoto dies like in our timeline, but shot by an american bomber crew survivor.

Kusaka steals uranium from a polish scientist after revealing to him the Katyn slaughter which make him loose confidence in Stalin. Captain Umezu is injured and land at Yokosuka to be treated in a IJN hospital. He is later killed after trying to stop Kusaka bomb. There is a mutiny on the Mirai, megane-kun take commands and rally Kusaka

The battle at Saipan takes place in 1943 instead of 1944 with all the forces that Kusaka managed to save. Their is also a clear change of strategy and mindset in the IJN thanks to him, it's so noticeable that the US Navy intelligence is worried

As you can see, the battle for the land where the newly produced B-29 will now start to bomb Japan is about to take place. pic related, but with a much important advantage for the IJN

Kusaka planted his boosted A-bomb on the Yamato an plan to blew up the US Navy to force a peace treaty. Kadomatsu take back control of the Mirai and want to stop him, sinking the unsinkable Yamato in the Marianna trench.

Kusaka did nothing wrong

If I was Japanese, I would have done the same

Thanks user!

>Mirai and want to stop him, sinking the unsinkable Yamato in the Marianna trench.

Poetic.

So nip gets to keep all her imperial conquest in China and dutch netherland? As well as Korea?

Even Stalin agrees

He wants the nips to hold a little more against the US because he is to busy with Germany

Reminder this is 1943, not 1944

This was your reply
Damn, the autism is so high in this thread
All hopes on the Yamato now...

Now I have a strong desire to play HOI 4.

Edited to make it less autistic

Puyi, emperor of Mandchuko is assassinated by Kusaka. This History-changing event allows Japan to withdraw its forces from the frontline without looking like they are retreating. Ishiwara is reinstated as general in the army (Kusaka convinced him to support the war again). Ishiwara then meets Mao and unoficially support the communist party, this triggers the US and they realizes that Japan fighting (winning) against the reds was not a bad thing.

This and a lot of similar events (Bombay air raid by Japan causing nationalists uprising in India) which didn't occur in our timeline make it possible for Japan to withdraw more forces (evacuation of Kiska and Attu by the Mirai) to strengthen a last defensive position in Saipan. Yamamoto dies like in our timeline, but shot by an American pilot survivor.

Kusaka steals uranium from a polish scientist after revealing to him the Katyn slaughtering which make him loose confidence in Stalin. Captain Umezu is injured and land at Yokosuka, admitted in an IJN hospital. He is later killed after trying to stop Kusaka’s plan. There is a mutiny on the Mirai, megane-kun takes commands and joins forces with Kusaka.

B-29 are now mass produced, the battle at Saipan (used as an US airbase to bomb Tokyo in our timeline) is about to begin. However thanks to the continuous careful withdrawal in the Pacific and Manchuria, Kusaka transformed the Marianna Isles in a super defensive fortress. The battle will takes place in December 43 instead of June 44, this grants a clear advantage to Japan over the US in term of numbers. There is also a clear change of strategy and mindset in the IJN thanks to Kusaka, it's so noticeable that the US Navy intelligence is more worried about that than about the Mirai.

Kusaka planted his boosted A-bomb on the Yamato and plans to blew up the US Navy to force a peace treaty. Kadomatsu takes back the control of the Mirai and want to stop him. Kadomatsu’s goal is now to send the unsinkable battleship Yamato in deep the Marianna trenches with the boosted A-bomb.

Also, I'm now at volume 27 of Zipang, AMA, I guess

>This History-changing event allows Japan to withdraw its forces from the frontline without looking like they are retreating.

How? Did the nips actually think they were there to support the last emperor of Qing?

Thanks user! Very helpful. It is interesting to see where the author is taking this. I must say, though, does that no allow Komingtong to take over Manchuria and the rich oil field there?

Restore civil order.

Also, they are now routing for his brother as emperor who somehow shares similar view with the Japanese generals.

They also said something like "without a common enemy as Puyi, the nationalists and the communists will now turn against each other

Welp, the oil field was mentionend a few times but never really impacted the story. Maybe the author just lured into thinking this was important.

Ahhh right. So no need for Nip troops to act as military police there. But that also mean they did not acquire the dutch netherland's east indian lands that they need for rubber.

Didn't read about any more conquered land by the Empire of Japan, only careful withdrawals. According to American strategists, Japan is now realizing they have over-stretched their frontlines (thanks to Kusaka).

Why did they need rubber ? The only lack of ressource that has been mentionned is oil. Somewhere an US Navy submarine commander said "the nips don't have enough fuel to make an Military exercise this big"

Rubber is needed for everything from planes to ships, and tons of civilian goods. At that time, only rubber can be obtained from rubber tree, that grows only in the east indies.

For more context, here is an event that occured in both timelines : the Greater East Asia Conference

Thanks!

So really starting their own faction.

Yeah for planes, you mean ducts and tires ?

Well, after the battle in the Aleutian Islands, the IJN spend a LOT of money to repair the Mirai, enough spending to stop the production of 30 Zeroes

And we are in 1943, Japan has more than 1200 planes ready for the battle of the Marianna Islands instead of 800 in our timeline

Keeping Asia away from American and European interests was one of the initial pretexts from Tojo to start building an empire.

Just like Germany in WWI and in WWII, you can't build an empire or just cut ties with the western market without ressources.

Interesting. And they probably had enough people to man these planes unlike in our time line.

Maybe, but Tojo just started recruiting students who were until now safe from military, just like in our timeline... pic related

Now that you talk about pilots, there is one pilot we have been introduced to and who sometimes pop up out of nowhere in the story. He is sort of a plot wizard since he was saved by the Mirai.
