What's Sup Forums verdict on Koutetsujou no Kabaneri?

Is it just Attack on Titans with trains? Debating whether or not worht watching

1. It's a good anime. Nothing more, nothing less.

2. Don't compare it to Attack on Titan. It would just result in constant shitposting.

3. It's worth watching, although none of the build up really pays off, the characters aren't all that great, action scenes while nicely animated are kinda boring. Watch it for animation and music.

Now go and watch it.

The last third took a massive shift that emphasized a character most still didn't give a shit about besides looking cute, and added a new villain that was irrelevant to the series initial charm.

REC THREAD
FUCK OFF
...its decent I guess.

That it's time to move onto it's successor Qualidea Code already

its trash

>Attack on Titans with trains
Pretty much this. But it had better soundtrack and more consistent animation.

12 YEARS OLD

Complete dogshit, Had potential but it was ruined.

Will be forgotten by year.

It's shit, don't bother, The first episode was kind of nice, but by episode four it's boring shit. And one of the worst crimes an action show can have is being boring shit.

anyone preorder her

great first episode

everything else is mediocre

strong female character turned to damsel in distress like in SAO

shitty main villain with bland design and no personality

shitty dissapointing fight with main villain

shitty rushed ending

Show literally turns into "protagonist transforming to fight gay-looking villain to save the heroine CLICHE

Beach episode when?

>Figure without fetish fuel
No thanks.

Great premise
Shit villain
Best side character dies for no reason
Magic zombies

Do NOT take it seriously, and you'll enjoy it.

Kabaneri is not Titan with Trains

It's Guilty Crown but less terrible. Not quite GOOD, but still

1. its shit
2. i want to fug mumei

I don't like the way they used insert songs
at all
Everything else, including retarded steam technological bullshit is something I can handle

Guess you'll want the scale then

It's an enjoyable action series. It looks great and has some great action scenes. Don't expect anything beyond that.

Why does everyone feel compelled to compare this to attack on titan. I don't think they're really that similar

It was a fun action show to watch every week during the last season that spawned some good porn.

It's AoT with trains, and amazing fanart.

Worth watching.

The first 4 episodes are good stand alone, and those are very enjoyable, so watch at least the first 4 episodes and continue if you wish. 5-7 are pretty good too, it's only after that that it gets more eh but not terrible.

AOT is much better but this was decent.

It was good until Biba showed up then it went to shit fast.

It was okay nothing more.

> Attack on Titans with trains
Colour me interested.

I kinda agree. The ambient tracks were actually really amazing - they have that relistening value, but the action tracks feel a step below SnKs.

see
The similarities don't seem that coincidental.

Mumei is 10/10 qt

The show itself is slightly above average.

it had some promise as a horror/survival anime,
that tension was gone after seeing how OP Mumei was, Biba was just the final nail in the coffin.

Wasted potential

The quality of an episode increased exponentially whenever this motherfucker opened his mouth

It's defintely not as bad as mal says (they hate it now). It's fun and simple action flick, not next FMA like they expected.

No one gives shit about QC

Mumei killed all the fun aready in episode 1. beside that, plot is shit, even for a b-move zombie story's standard

Great armpits.

No plot, shitty dialogue. Should had been 24 episodes with a good writer seeing how it was the most profitable anime of the season just off of character design and art

It's a pretty generic shonen, if that's your liking go ahead and watch it.

Mumei was q;t though

>It's a good anime.
I'm sorry but your opinion is objectively wrong. Kabaneri's writing is fucking horrible, especially Bieber, Mumei and our MC.

It would be better if the entire series fucking end in Ep.4 .After ep.4? it bacame a time bomb that is waiting to explode on the arrival of the main villain.
Or better just compress that first 4 episodes into a movie.

If you have nothing else to watch, then watch it. It does get really good halfway through the series, but the last few episodes are absolute shit.

I fucking hate Biba. He's the worst kind of villain who sacrifice his loyal subjects and perform genocide on the innocent just to get some petty and childish revenge at his father.

Terrible. It managed to be worse than AoT which is quite a feat.

She really likes that pose.

It turned to shit after ep 7

at least it's short, AoT is like a triathalon of shit

Pretty good, then Biba happened.

>Bieber

I don't know why but this made me burst out laughing.

>it's like AoT with trains
Someone pls explain. I fucking love trains. I sat through the QUALITY shitfest that was Rail Wars just because trains get my autistic dick hard.

Kabaneri > AOT

walled cities get attacked by monsters, defended by people with inconsistently advanced technology
they travel between cities by train since anything else is slow enough to guarantee death

There's only one train and it stops being relevant by episode 6

Story's a fucking stupid.
Characters are all shit.
It was a glorious trainwreck.

I wonder if this is any good.

Sawano insert songs are a sure sign that a show is total shit, and this one had 2-3 inserts every fucking episode.

What I don't understand is why people say the first episode was so good. What did you like about it? A bunch of nameless villagers die, and Ayame's father just so she gets put into a position of power, but Mumei is there to get everyone to safety. Ikoma gets a powerup. It doesn't really feel suspenseful. The first episode is very much in line with the rest of the anime, it feels more like an action movie.

I like it too.

She seems to take real pride in her armpits.

It reminds me more of Princess Mononoke

but Princess Mononoke was a masterpiece whereas Habaneros was just below average seasonal trash

Much like Guilty Crown, good visuals and audio, but snubbed by underwhelming plot choices.

I miss the Kabaneposting.

the first episode made me think it was gonna be a fun episodic series with just cutting down zombies or shooting them, but instead ruin it with pseudo-political Bullshit that was just a mask for the antagonist revenge against his father.the plot (If there was one) just went straight downhill once the antagonist showed up. man I'm still mad

snk with trains and a 12-year-old with boobpits.

> pretty animation
>fun action
>train
>cute waifus
>good soundtrack
>not pretentious
>no harem
I liked it.

>cons
>useless leader waifu
>stupid kabane waifu
>stupid protagonist
>only two train
>its pretty pretentious near the end

is just 12 eps faggot

It's late 80's early 90's as fuck visually.

It was shit except for the fap material.

What the fuck, how?

1.It's shit
2.Biba is one of the worst villans I've seen in the past 10 years.
3.Mumei is a fucking retard, but people say "oh that's because she's 12", fuck off with that nonsense. She clearly isn't, I don't give a fuck if that's what some retarded nip said.
4. MC is annoying cringy faggot. My eyes rolled out of my head in the last two episodes when that faggot cut his hair.

This show needed more Hime

worst KnK since KnK

It was the best thing that aired in spring. It could've been better without biba but I still liked it and I'm hoping for a season 2.

I know I will.

100% teenager naƮt.
Shit.

I wonder too, but I doubt anyone is going to translate it.

>It was the best thing that aired in spring
So much so that nobody remembers it

I-i do...

For the purposes of this discussion, you're a nobody.

It wasn't mostly ok but not worth going out of your way to watch it.

What do you guys would like to see in a season 2?

I would want: a bromance between Ikoma and Kurusu, a love triangle between Ayame, Kurusu and Ikoma, more fights using the train's canon, no villain like Biba. They fight against the kabane and whatever created them.

It's not bad for the first seven or so episodes, but then it falls apart once Biba shows up.

It has literally nothing in common with attack on titan.

It was ok.
For some reason SNK-fags try to compare it to their show and say it's a ripoff despite SNK itself can be considered as greatly influenced if not directly mimicking Gantz and Berserk in many aspects.

MUMEI IN YUKATA > MUMEI IN BATTLESUIT

Not true.

And thanks to Sup Forums, whenever I see Mumei in her Yukata I always think of how smelly it probably is.

Hozumi a cute.

I'm going to make Kabaneri babies with Mumei.

>Is it just Attack on Titans with trains?

Precisely. It was still entertaining.

my brother, except the MC haircut
I hated the hairstyle he had before

rekt

except the gadgets and nobody explains how the titans/kabane came to be, they're just there

It's like Guilty Crown set in sci-fi Feudal Japan with zombies and steam-powered trains. I initially thought that the concept sounded awfully generic, but it kinda worked out in the end somehow. Ikoma and Mumei's characterization were executed pretty well, but I didn't find Biba to be the villain of the story, he's just there to get a revenge from his father and his mentally was nothing but Natural Selection down to the core. Adding scientists out of nowhere to become its plot device with their magical injections made the show less interesting, and the open ending could have been better than just going for another train ride with no answers to Kabeneri's origin. 5+1/10 for the animation and OST.

Also why did Biba give Ikoma the antidote syringe at the end?

Don't forget the "I will kill all the titan-I mean vampires-I mean kabane!"

Inarguable AotS.

oh and visually pretty, and that one soundtrack that instantly is super popular and has some english lyrics in it.

Why would it be smelly?

>Also why did Biba give Ikoma the antidote syringe at the end?
He either wanted Ikoma to continue fighting, and the antidote would make Ikoma not become a mindless kabane, OR he thought that Ikoma wasn't a coward like everybody else (and like Biba himself), and thus he deserved to live while Biba didn't.

I think that the first option is more likely since after shooting Ikoma with the antidote he still wanted to fight.
