Homesteading/Country Living

Do you live in the country? Do you want to?
Where were you when you realised farm life was the best way to live?

Childfree cucks need not apply.

>where were you?
In one of the most cucked states and regions of the country, Connecticut
It's crowded and full of shitlibs, hope to head down to Appalachia country

Heard the Appalachians were beautiful. There's some real beauty to America, just a pity so much of it is covered with malls and suburban sprawl.

Yes and it's not for everyone. Ever have to bury a dead cow? Can you imagine how large the fucking hole is? Can you imagine the smell for a month of a rotting one and the pack of coyotes that would come and attack the rest of your cows? Are you capable of shooting something you raised on a bottle and then eating it?

Fuck off were full

Unfortunately yes to all of those. I still believe it's a more wholesome existance than life in the city though.

you dont have to raise cows. You can hunt small game, eat chicken eggs and grow crops

Gotta get into the foothills. Thats where commercialism goes to die.

You should do something with the acreage year round otherwise you're wasting potential resources and income

The reality of this is brutal.

But yeah, i would love to live in a less populated state when i return to the US after a few more years of teaching English abroad.

The picks are Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico or Idaho. Thoughts?

Aye
My great grandfather some many times removed went to mine coal in Appalachia when he first came to this country

I don't live in the country. I'm in the suburbs of New York. I've recently been checking out a plot of land my family owns in New Hampshire (not big, just over an acre, but in the middle of nowhere).

None of those. Stay in the heartland and reshuffle. But stay away from the Mississippi.

NH is pretty weird desu, bunch of niggas missing teeth and mass. Fags occupying the southern portion of the state

used to live in the country for a brief time as a kid. was my favorite house we lived in. however, that was before i was addicted to the internet. hard to larp with a 10gb/month limit or dial up.

This is farther north, near White Mountain forest.

I can't live in any state with a lot of niggers. Fucking hate niggers. When i get back ill be teaching inner city history classes. These states i listed are beautiful and have low nigger populations.

I wouldn't know. I'm sure there are burgers with far more knowledge than I on where to set up home.

Going to farm school right now. Worked the Pilbura and Northern Canadian mines. Have another year and a bit then I head East to get some land. Next Friday my Aussie wife goes to the DR to remove her birth control stick.

I learnt I hate the city through mining.

Yeah but you don't have to raise cows. Plenty of other options

Might find better luck then
It's a beautiful state with great laws

The fuck is wrong with you? Put the dead cow into the compost and it's gone in weeks. Otherwise call the dead animal pick up to cart the carcass away.

Countryfag here.

Knew country life was the shit because grandparents were farm types. Later in life reinforced by living in low-income neighborhood with constant vehicle vandalism and theft. Found a hobo living in the crawl space of my house. One time they broke into my garage and lit the manual from my car on fire to stay warm. I became an expert at installing Windows in cars.

When I look for places to live now the first thing I do is pull up a demographics dot map.

Idaho if you actually want to farm. Rich ground.

I've actually buries like... 15 to 20 dairy cows and assorted bags of fetuses and calves. I used a 580 super M backhoe with the 21ft extendable boom.

It takes 20-30 minutes of aggressive digging to get down below the soil into a good bedrock or clay substrate that won't contaminate the groundwater. You need good transport chains to lash them up to the loader and the smells that come out when you doze them into the hole is something else. I loved burying cows though. I'd blast the Ramone's "It's Alive" from start to finish and chain smoke while I dug the hole, so I know that's how long it takes

Experienced all of this.

Yeah living ghetto made me sleep with a shotgun under my bed.

I dislike castrating pigs........

How do I into country life?
>be me
>college fag in jew England
>19, realized coming here was a mistake going to transfer to cc after first semester
I've had an idea about going to WV, working in the mines or as a roughneck for two years and then applying for state police when eligible at 21, is that a good plan?
I've also thought about getting into operating heavy equipment

I dislike even visiting the city at this point in my life. I don't think I could ever move back.

I live in west Virginia. Currently the family is trying to sell the home so we can move further out with more land. We have just over an acre and about 20 neighbors within 1000 feet. We hate it. About 30 minutes to the closest town of 40k people. We want a lot farther out, fuck i hate having neighbors.

If you can get a decent rate, operating is great, but it beats the shit out of your body. It's more physical than you think, and you have to sit all day clenched up rolling with the terrain if you work on uneven ground.

But dude, you feel powerful.

Best of luck with the move and child-rearing.

Yes this is the best place to be to live the idyllic country life - western or central PA, WV, western VA and NC, eastern TN and KY. Appalachia is perfect even if it's a poorer part of the country.

I know you're from New zealand, not australia, but do you happen to know if Tasmania has problems with opioid addictions?
I'm asking because there's some large companies in tasmania that produce poppys for pharmaceutical opioids and they're not guarded or fenced of at all

>PA, WV, VA, NC, TN, KY.
I have no idea how you guys remember all these.

capped

Here's some more motivation to move off the grid.

cant believe nobody is living in

>based Arkansas

A lot of Australia has opioid & meth issues, and Tasmania is no exception unfortunately.

Thanks for answering, man.

It's pretty easy senpai, they teach it in school, it's like the alphabet

This is my dream op, should I move out of NZ? I was thinking I should move to texas or argentina. I just hate big cities so much.

>Want to buy a couple acres with a decent house and just hermit up.
>Maybe keep bees.

What do I need to know?

same man, idk about shit libs most people i know dont give a damn then again i live in litchfield county, not new haven county or whatever, and i work on a farm the dream is possible in ct but im heading to maine or out west also fuck saving up just go the land you want and start or become a nomad

Half the country is basically uninhabited, user. The south island is bigger than Greece and (if you ignore Christchurch) the population is only 600K.

>grew up in a major city my whole life
>used to riding the bus and wandering city streets
>suddenly get the chance to go live in the country literally miles from any town with a name
>the absolutly best decision i ever made in my life

Move out to the country user.... it is a truly wonderful place

Who doesn't remeber the 50 states of the greatest country on Earth? Pretty sure I can even do it.

I've convinced my woman that country house is the only way. We're going g to start saving abd move out of the suburbs. The suburbs were a huge mistake.

Thats one in Canada actually, New Brunswick

Yea I know, meant to erase it, forgot
>then again, NB is rightful Lebensraum

Different user from before, I agree, I am hoping my son goes to Otago Uni (not very likely) so we can move down to central Otago, I love the landscapes, and dont mind the cold. (currently semi-rural BOP)

I'm sure she'll love seeing your kids grow up in the country. The stars are so much brighter, and the air is so much cleaner.

Rural America is White America, but you would be surprised how many are c u c k s.

I just want a small, elegant home with couple acres in the country. Off grid as much as possible. A place where I won’t be continually jewed.

>rural cucks
Explain this.
I could see soy goys due to all the xenoestrogen produced in growing crops

You should take him down to Otago for a holiday some day. If he likes it, maybe he'll be more inclined to go.

I had a great home on an forested acreage about 40min from the nearest city. The property backed onto a federally protected national park. We had a well that never ran dry and septic system that could handle the biggest loads. Power and internet were our only utilities. Wood for heating would have to be purchased once a year, usually in the spring so it had ample time to finish seasoning.

Then I got divorced and had to sell since I couldn't afford the mortgage and operating costs on my single income. The real-estate market had tanked and I lost almost everything I put into the house and property which was well within the six figures. I'll never financially recover to where I was before the marriage. I literally dropped in socioeconomic status by the stroke of a judges pen. Some young douche bag musician and his old lady bought the house. Let this be a lesson to all of you..... don't even think about marriage or common-law relationships without a signed and notarized prenuptial agreement. I can't emphasize this enough. Also keep your home in your own name; if she won't accept it than consider it a bullet dodged. It's also a good idea to keep a secret bank account for rainy days.

Now I'm putting together savings so I can buy a cheap parcel of land up north and build a modest single room cabin with a loft. My only requirements are access to high speed internet while being at least 45min from any large cities, existing access to the building site, and a rural post office located somewhat nearby. I can order just about everything I need online (including stuff like soylent and holfood), solar can supply all my energy needs, and a good well will supply plenty of fresh water. Once you get set up the cost of living is very low assuming you can maintain a modest lifestyle, garden, chop wood, and hunt.

Pic related.

We did that already, we also had some good friends that went there to come round and encouraged some great stories about student life in Dunedin.
However we think he will be at Victoria, so we may have to settle for life in the Manawatu / Horowhenua, but wherever we end up it will be a long haul (for NZ) from the city.

>rural america
>white

Someone's never been to rural Alabama

I currently live in a small town in Illinois. Know a lot of Agricultural people. Most believe the (((WW II bullshit.))) Most of them haven’t dealt much with niggers so they believe in the magic negro.

Sorry to hear my man. Best of luck with the cabin.
What's your son going to study? Is he your only?

Oh so cuckservatives
Believe me, is much rather have them than the leftist cucks on the coasts here, they're insufferable!

True, I haven’t, but generally speaking rural USA is White.

Looks comfy

>one state is representative of the entire country
Nice cherry picking

well, comfy enough if you can handle the blacks

Got a nice shotgun to deal with them darkies but I want to move to a more rural place to not have to.

Are they much of a problem in your area?

I'm homesteading in california suburbia kek

There's nothing I love more than spending time there on the last few days of autumn and awaken to snow.

Sad to think the U.S.'s most brutal war was fought there.

Trying desperately to save enough to get out of Seattle. I was raised here. Getting old. Wanna get to new digs before it's too late.

kek

Bay area here. Same deal. I want to live in real America, not a commie shithole.

That's beautiful.

My parents live in the country with some land they farm on and they hunt for their protein. Well for water. Out in the sticks all you can hear at night are crickets and sometimes coyotes yelling. No light pollution on clear sky days you can see every star.

I unfortunately live in ththe city working two manual labor jobs and renting Airbnb’s because I can’t afford rent for a place and saving up for a car.

I wish I could just live with my parents without any shame and enjoy the home cooked meals

Yes.
Everyone should.
When we made the decision to increase our flock of chickens from 8 to 20.

Likely you are a cuck if you have kids, idiot.
Had some hillbilly skank winking at me behind her rancher husbands back last time I frequented the local drinking establishment.
May take a while to convert these rural retards to Christian Identity.

Eating burnt meat is degenerate and this thread impotent.

>Uncle's pig pen caught fire
>Had to help by entering burning building and save or put animals out of their misery with a .22LR handgun
>floor was wooden
>beneath floor is a 4 foot deep open flotilla of pig shit
>tfw I'm haven't hit my growth spurt yet and 4'11"

Spent the next day throwing carcasses into a pile of brush and debris that we later set afire

Build a rocket mass heater next time. It is like the poor man’s masonry heater. You will use a lot less wood and have better heat.

>4'11"
Are you a woman? Badass if you are, but damn that's tiny.

I know this feel. Bay area is literally the worst place on earth.

Fuck ya my farm bro.
MT fag here
I have shot cows
Slit a throat after a tree fell on it breaking its neck to breed it then fed it to the dogs when the meat wasn't that good and had some rot from being out almost a day in hot weather. The skin broke when the tree fell and the flies started laying eggs
My old boss on the ranch said cows have two purposes.
1 to eat
2 to piss you off
I learned to love/hate them
And at the same time fell in love with farming and ranching.
We grew melons in MT
We had a 2 acre garden
600 head
3 goats
7 dogs
6 cats
20 chickens
3 guinees
25 horses
Lots of guns
Lots of laughs
Lots of whiskey
Can't wait until I can quit my job and buy my own land.
I travel to big cities now and live in MT
Fuck city life
These Fuckers ruin everything and think they are the greatest gift to God

be hold the jew socially conditioning faggotry into the goyim. You will NEVER see this in Israel.

Little over 6' now. This happened before high school and am kinda guessing my height because it was a few decades ago. Point is: I did not want to fall through the floor, and my dad was sure to make some wise ass joke about being up to my ears in shit if I did because the floor was burnt out in several areas. By the next day, it looked like an open basement of poo and pigs.

Methane and a failed ventilation fan started the fire. We first got it under control before saving what we could, then torched the fucker after we did because the place was a death trap. Country living is hard. Thanks for resurfacing repressed memories OP. Good times.

>These Fuckers ruin everything and think they are the greatest gift to God
Ain't that the truth?

why would i want to live near pesticide tainted land and water supply

living on a farm: heaven
working a farm: literal shit job

t. renting a farmhouse

It's hell on earth, man. Can't wait to get the fuck out.

Oh, I see. Didn't know it was that long ago from your story. Still badass though.
