Things, on the whole, are already very bad. I don't really know what it will take, an economic crash maybe? There's already an insane shortage of hospital staff, school places, housing, jobs, etc, these things can't be fixed because as long as mass migration is a factor demand will always outpace supply. If we choose to fight we will win, but it's very much as a question of "if" rather than "when".
