If you're referring specifically to the S2 OP, then yeah. S1 was alright, even if the pacing felt too slow after the Hamelin arc.
Log Horizon was fantastic, take some time to think about your mistakes in life.
S2 was pretty shitty.
It was alright.
Definitely not amazing, S1 was alright and S2 shat the bed
S1 OP was great.
So technically, it was better than S1 itself, since S1 was just "good"
The best OP in a lame show is this one
youtube.com
Why did this go so wrong?
the Umineko OP is about 2x better than the show
>that feel when you were raised on Gundam Wing and Tenchi Muyo
So do we think its comming back?
...
Must be a really shitty show then
>The best OP in a lame show is this one
Close but no cigar.
youtube.com
the only right answer ITT
the rest of you need to get the fuck out
As if that was some sort of accomplishment
>Getting BTFO in your own Gundam series
Never has gundam protag been as shit as Shin
The show is generic fantasy shonen that is weighed down by two annoying dwarves
Shinn himself wasn't the problem with Destiny and could've been a great protagonist. The Minerva crew in general was far more interesting and competent than the Archangel, though that's not really too much of a feat considering how tragically trash Kira and co are.
It's because Fukuda and Morosawa were so in love with their hopelessly dull Gary Stu and the rest of the Archangels crew that the second half of Destiny turned out to be the utter shitfest it was, despite a very strong first thirteen episodes.
I honestly didn't like Destiny from start to finish, probably because I watched it right after SEED, and I hated SEED. The first few episodes were just a weaker rehash of Zeta so I could never find any appeal to it. But yea, Kira and co a shit.
The show wasn't horrible or anything, just the OP was probably one of the all-time greatest.
>Borderland
>My Soul Your Beats
Excellent taste there.
youtube.com
I remember the OP more than I do the show
I liked that Destiny began by tackling some of the consequences of what'd happened in Seed which made the Cosmic Era in general feel a tad more grounded and I thought the Junius 7 drop was absolutely sublime. The moments shared between Athrun and Shinn were also handled really well and there was a lot of potential there for a Kamille/Char-like mentor/student relationship. Unfortunately after episode 13 the series just kind of meanders around and does nothing up til the Impulse/Freedom fight and then it all just goes to absolute shit.
I agree that the beginning is essentially a weaker rehash of Zeta but I quite strongly believe it's better than anything the preceded it in Seed or followed it in Destiny. Though it's completely possible that I could just be romanticising those first thirteen episodes since everything else is just so poorly handled.
It's a shame we can't get a full series handled by the staff behind Stargazer; I really think CE is a hotbed of potential that was completely squandered because of an incredibly incompetent director and scriptwriter.
Shaka, when the loli fell.
I agree, but I also feel that the "hotbed" probably wouldn't extend farther than some extra OVAs, like 08th MS Team or 0083. Smaller stories that could at least try to shore up some of the weaknesses of SEED, perhaps an attempt to make the villains less caricatured or something.
Ultimately, I don't think another full 52 episode series in the SEED universe would have worked for me, simply because I just didn't give a shit about any of the characters at the end of the series, to be honest though.
>mfw she pulled a fucking key out of her hair
slurp slurp

Obligatory, still my favorite OP from that season.
SO EVERYTHING THAT MAKES ME WHORE
It wasn't. Complete meme anime and fuelled on "A-At least it's not SAO!".
Fair enough, I can agree with that.
I'm still surprised that I ended up watching this entire show.
Also, let's not forget about the OP from the show that saved anime.
Well I think this is pretty unanimimous:
>that fucking dancing vegetable shit
i was so close to ending it right there
Great show, loved how the fedora tippers got angry over it while circlejerking far worse shit.
The best GSD OP is this though: youtube.com
I don't know what I was thinking having any hope for this series. . .
>Solid Do Mon
>best boy Roman winning
>cute Felia loli
>brown shota
>Hamon
>quite good animation for the mecha battles
>bread grenades
Man, this show had some great things.
Kill yourselves tripniggers
>Tusk and Ange reference
Sunrise confirmed bros
Agree.
Also, Japanese version a best.
Even the shitiest Gundams have decent OPs
youtube.com
That's like 90% of anime.
Log Horizon was genuinely fucking awful.
The characters were the worse part about it. None of them acted two dimensional and all of them had their personalities written as if they were in some comedy SOL.
The context of the tension is also never done well.
And what a huge fuckup with the people of the land. The reveal that they are actual real humans with sentience should of been huge. There is so much mystery that could've been built up around them. Instead they get blown off as just jobbers for muh adventurers. Why the fuck can't you just show a scene where its implied the PoLs know something about the nature of the world we don't? That would get us much more invested in their whole story.
Also why the fuck do we need to focus on that shitty b plot about the kids learning about raids? That was so fucking boring, trivial and stupid. The only good part about it (and the entire show) was Rudy's development (and once thats done his character is mostly ignored).
While I haven't watched SAO in a while I doubt its worse than Log horizon if were counting the first seasons. The only defense I ever hear is how much more realistic a mmo LH is but they never tell me why that realism should matter to me as a viewer.
Well, not a terrible lot of shows can live up to JAM Project openings in general
youtube.com
Mouretsu Pirates.
The show was so disappointing.
>The show was so disappointing.
It was so close to being great. Semi hard SF, nice art style, interesting setting, reasonable voice acting.
The show might've been utter shit, but it was at least pretty damn unique and gorgeous in terms of visuals. EDs were great, too.
GENKI DE IRARERU KARA
I enjoyed it.
Gen'ei had the OP of its season.
youtube.com
Actually D-Frag is god tier and just has a great OP
Was a pretty fun show despite Umetsu fucking it up as usual after episode 1, and sisters were amazingly cute. Feels like it would've been a good match for some story elements of Time Travel Shoujo airing this season, could've saved it.
On that note, this is relevant to the thread, too
youtube.com
I've recently started playing Granblue Fantasy and rewatching this OP... the show had some remarkably similar elements, with Felia and the stone caterpillar being basically Ruria and Vee-kun, the setting having a similar kind of lore and all.
>LiSA
>good
Is this bait?
This is literally the worst OP I've ever seen.
Speaking of Umetsu, can't forget this great OP, too
youtube.com
He only did this OP for it, but the show was a bit of a trainwreck regardless. Very lovable trainwreck, though.
>Angel Beats
How can a show this terrible have an OP this magnificent?
Well, he did say that D-Frag was god tier, so you shouldn't take that post seriously.
You win the thread.
Runners up:
Stand aside plebs, I win.
HOLY FUCK
youtube.com
The show isn't even bad, the OP is just perfect
Umineko.
The anime was atrocious, and even based Shikata couldn't stop that, but the OP and ED were both fucking great.
youtube.com
Also anything with Aquarion in the title.
Was gonna mention Fractale and Bokurano, but those have already been said.
Pretty much every angela OP.
Only the first episode rivals the OP, 2 and 3 were mediocre.
Oh, and Kekkai Sensen.
Jesus fucking christ that show was a travesty, but same deal as Umino; superlative OP and ED.
The anime may be a trainwreck but the OP is top tier.
shingeki no kyojin's OP is probably one of my favorite OPs ever
youtube.com
from what i've seen of the series it was pretty awful but the OP is just so fucking good god damn
the boring as fuck children adventures, anything but shit
Absolute Duo was a 6/10 anime with an 11/10 opening theme
This is really pitiful bait.
>frogposting
Yeah, you can't even sink any lower than this.
youtube.com
This and the ED were top tier, but the show was honestly shit
youtube.com
S2 never ;-;
Thanks for reminding me asshole ;_;
this was the worst bait that I ever watched excluding Please Teacher. And speaking of the Please series, this OP was pretty good for a shitty series imo. MC is based tho and its so sad why his show is dipshit
This is bait
Here's one anyway: youtube.com
>6/10
>students go to school of weapon-summoning, and fight
Almost as bad as "students form pairs where one is a weapon for the other, and fight"
Shinsekai Yori.
Because the OP was literally nothing.
And nothing is better than Shinsekai Yori.
Edgy.
youtube.com
The show wasn't terrible either, but the OP was definitely better.
I can't use items while jammed or hypnotized! What's the point of this antidote?? I'm a real sucker, now.
I enjoyed soul eater though ;_;
WCW was great.
Don't kid yourself.
WWF was better.
