It's happy Tomino and it's great.

Because it's the best Gundam series together with Mobile Fighter G

I know, that's what makes it great and actually watchable. It's just a good sci-fi story in general.

It's still very Tomino-esque.

Can't wait to watch this after G, Wing, and After War. The steampunk setting, mech designs and Yoko Kanno soundtrack definitely have me interested.

It isn't very action-packed. Which is good. More time for world building and story.

Best girl(s).

Harry is my favorite Char.

You called?

A Sochie is fine, too.

It's still pretty Tomino, but very chilled out and toned down compared to shows like Zeta and Victory, along with having a wildly different setting.

Best girls and sexiest girls.

More than fine.

Is it gay if I want to suck his dick?

After War and Turn A are best. both are interesting twists on previous Gundams, both have the comfiest characters

I loved a lot about Turn A. The characters are the best in gundam, I think. The fact that they don't have the obligatory mobile suit fight every episode does wonders for the pacing.

Are you watching the EG blu-ray?

>no good porn
JUST

That's life.

Watching the DVD since I don't have space for that 71 GB release

>The fact that they don't have the obligatory mobile suit fight every episode does wonders for the pacing.
Not only does it not constrain the pacing but it improves the characters. They don't all need to be autistic children who do stupid stuff like launch without permission repeatedly just to shoehorn a fight in.

Because Turn A was Tomino making the WMT show he always wanted to make.

>DVD

What is a Gundam?

How come nobody complains about G Gundam or Build Fighters not being "Gundam"?

I think people have gotten used to seeing Gundam as an angsty military drama series, Turn A is different because it doesn't see things through the eyes of a soldier like most Gundam but through the eyes of a layman, someone who prefers being a citizen in peacetime but thrown into a war situation, instead of someone with a deep-rooted belief for joining the war or a layman slowly transformed into a soldier, Loran, despite the battles, still sees himself as a chauffeur to the Heim family and Dianna.

At least get the blu-ray version of the last 2 episodes, it's glorious.

Yeah it's actually good.

...

This is my favorite episode
>that hospital scene

>This feels nothing like Gundam
Funny, I tried to watch it and I quit it for the same reason as other Gundam seasons. Super slow plot progression, lackluster characters, awkward dialogue and random deaths with no meaning. As well as mecha fighting about as interesting as watching two turtles fight each other. Its all there.

gb2 one piece

Because it's a mistake to recommend Turn A to someone as a "Gundam" series, people familiar with the series will have all the wrong expectations.

It's better to just mention it as a mecha/slice of life/sci-fi/war drama.

I think turn is the best gundam, but i like the original more than the rest.

this is always a close second though.

Turn A was great and I seriously cannot think of anything bad of the series other than that one weird black native indian who was annoying and I never liked the vibrator robot they had.

Otherwise the setting was great, story was nice and characters were fun. Loved the beginning when it was basically a ~1880 people with aeroplanes versus gigantic mechas from space.

It did lack motorbikes but Harry, Kapools and Zakus made up for it.

The Gundam franchise is tainted, they should kill it before it becomes something truly terrible.

>Kapools
Fuck yeah.

>The Gundam franchise is tainted
True.

>they should kill it before it becomes something truly terrible.
They would have had to kill it back in the 1980s. Its far too late now.

We have passed the point of no return.

>Gundam Wing 2.0
We passed it a long time ago.

>Wing has great influence to what modern gundam series is expected to be like.
Kill me.
I don't want to live in such a world.

After watching this it makes me sad knowing what G reco could of been given more episodes.
Oh hell yes, I love their dynamic throughout the series.
This.
Sochie looked so good in that dress, but her wearing that helmet in the battle secnes was cute too.
I did the same my first watch through. Going to nab the BD for when I rewatch the series, this Gundam is actually worth it.
I love how Lily was a compete cunt that episode.

SOCHIE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH LORAN WAS WAY BETTER THAN DIANA'S
SOCHIE WAS FIGHTING ALONGSIDE LORAN ALL THE WAY TO THE END
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>sad knowing what G reco could of been given more episodes.
Don't be.
Tomino noted that he was "too old" to do a long series, which is why G-Reco is 26 episodes despite having enough material for 50.

I think it worked out for the best, G-Reco is not "Gundam" enough to satisfy the gundam fans, even if it had been 50 or so episodes, I think the reception would have been lukewarm at best, sure we would've gotten more moments where the crew has to go around looking for food supply, buying up chickens and fish, we'd see more capital citizens throwing cans at capital army, etc.

But overall I think the almost hostile reactions fans has to G-Reco is because it's not the gundam they expected.

I enjoy G-Reco as what it is, with all it's problems.

I'm never not gonna be mad about that.
Fuck you Loran
>muh Dianna Soriel

Those hips

...

It was Tomino with his balls cut off.
It was really boring and tame, not to mention disappointing.
G Reco was better.

Turn A Gundam is the best thing Yoko Kanno ever wrote. Can't say I like the plot of the show, but the music is amazing just by itself.

Fucking moon people.
Stop sending your brownies down to Earth.

>show has to have tons of boring fighting and pointless death scenes to be exciting
The epitome of a child who wants to act like he's an adult. I bet you love Game of Thrones as well.

I'm saying what makes Tomino great is his very eccentric Tomino-isms. Off the wall characterization, plot progression that happens off screen, weird dialogue.
Without it he's just very mediocre, just like Turn A was.

But the core message of G-Reco was an even more pussy version of Turn A's message.

Loran doesn't kill anyone because he sees no reason to, until the situation becomes dire and he kills people on the moon with resolve.

Bellri doesn't (want) to kill people because they're his countrymen and because of a trauma, but kills anyway, accidentally or reluctantly.

Loran got into a sword fight with Gym.
The whole point of G-Reco was Bellri NOT going down to fight Mask.

She also did a good ost for Escaflowne.

That just makes Bellri a more interesting character than Loran though.
I never really got the feeling that Turn A was supposed to be ungodly powerful, either.

And I'm saying that his other shows were also mediocre. The only thing that was different with past Gundam series was more violence and random deaths.

She's written many good OSTs. Problem with Escaflowne is that the first disk is much better than disk 2 or 3. And the best songs weren't written by her but by her husband. In Turn A, it was all Yoko Kanno and there's a much higher amount of good songs.

Because the Turn A was only thought of as another machine until they got to the moon, where Black History was revealed and Turn A's true potential was unlocked by Gym's faction.
By the last few episodes, everyone had to stop what they were doing just to survive in the presence of both Turn X and Turn A.

The only other Tomino Gundam I've seen is some of 0079, but Overman King Gainer and Xabungle were god tier.

>Loran got into a sword fight with Gym.
You do realize that is just a reference to the final fight between Amuro and Char while having nothing of the rivalry?

>The whole point of G-Reco was Bellri NOT going down to fight Mask.
Because Bellri didn't care about him more than he cared about his other enemies.

The point was Loran-Gym was a relationship of hero vs villain, Gym had to be stopped at all costs.

But Bellri-Mask was reversed, Mask saw Bellri as a villain that had to be stopped while Bellri just wanted to stop the fighting, Bellri running off in the Core Fighter was a big point because that was what convinced Kun Soon that Earthnoids aren't just war fanatics.

I haven't even watched any of the gundam series but the only reason I want to is because of the soundtrack of turn A

G was not even a real gundam series. The only reason it is even tolerated is because it helped revitalize the franchise.

How do you tell apart a real gundam series and a not real one?

THURN AY GANDEM

It ticks all the boxes, it's real gundam.

Whether or not I like it.

There is but it all got taken off panda.

Why?
