I got a cease and desist letter for torrenting anime. This is the second time in about two years. My ISP warned that if it happens again I'll be both dropped and fined.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Use a VPN if you live in a shithole.

>Has this happened to anyone else?
Nope.
What ISP, and what anime did you download? Was it from Nyaa.se?

ISP is Google Fiber
Sword Art Online. To be fair I have 30 anime downloading at any time, I never made it past episode 2 and it's been in my download folder for a year. Don't know why they jumped on me now.

>Google Fibre
>SAO

>Sword Art Online
Now you know why.

>Google Fiber
damn, I was 100% planning on switching to google fiber too.

still though, what torrent site did you get it from? it would suck if they're actually targeting all licensed anime.

Yeah I probably deserved it. Still, this makes me jumpy now.

On Nyaa I tend to download single episodes at a time, this was a batch download so I think not. Fuck me though, I can't remember.

It's already too late, user. You need to get out of there.

Stop living in a third world country

>Dropped and fined
Wow what a shit ISP, though I don't know what I expected from Google. I got like 6 or 7 C&D from Verizon, all they ever did was throttle my internet for a few days, a couple of times I called and bitched them out over it too and they would give me a few bucks off my bill, but they stopped doing that after they switched their copyright department to be fully automated.

Stop watching mainstream crap you faggot
You deserved it. Hell, while you might as well go full crunchyroll

>there are actually people in the United States who still use torrents to obtain anime

A couple years ago predates Google Fiber here in Provo Utah. It was a fiber network called Veracity and my landlord refused to say what it was about, just that if it happened again we would be evicted. I don't even know if it was me but my roommates all claimed innocence and I did download a lot of anime then.

My country may be a shithole, but I have downloaded at least 10-15 anime already. So far, no warnings from them.

Maybe they just don't give a shit, since it's actually common to download anime from streaming sites around here.

I live in the Philippines.

Nope
Everyone complains about comcast and its pricing but they've never bothered me in 20+ years
I pay Comcast jew shekels and they leave me alone and never throttle me.

>10-15
That's nothing, dude.

>My ISP warned that if it happens again I'll be both dropped and fined.
>ISP is Google Fiber
This doesn't even sound realistic.
[citation needed]

>live in canada
>piracy is quasi-legal (for "education"purposes and parody)
>loli isn't

This help?

Don't set your upload over 1bit and set queue to download 1 thing at a time. Remove torrents when done. Also don't torrent shit that's been dubbed. Licensors will go after you more often since they have domestic rights for those shows. If you're desperate just stream that shit from the many free sites that offer it.

>if it happens again we'll stop receiving your monthly money!!
you performed something illegal and got a warning, what do you think will happen next time? answer is nothing. ISP doesn't care, but it needs to pretend it does sometimes when they're being watched themselves

DELETE THIS.

Use IRC. I never torrent anything because I'm paranoid.

is this bait?

Google is punishing your shit taste.

>no Adblock
How do you live?

Torrented a few thousand anime, no warnings or anything.
Ausfag.

>thinking a country founded on criminals is going to care about piracy
But yes, the amount of piracy you can get away with in Australia is astronomical.

Get a seedbox 15-20 bucks a month to download whatever the hell you want with no one bitching at you to stop.

$30 for a year of VPN service.

$85 for a year of Crunchyroll.

What are you doing torrenting on public trackers in America in the first place? Do you want to be put in debt for the rest of your life?

will do friend.

How do you survive the bandwidth cap?

Are you fucking retarded? Do you know how many people have been sued for pirating anime in America?

You're taking the literal worst advice in this thread.

Bandwidth cap? Philippines? なんと意味ですか?

nope, I use rogers. they dont say shit.

Moot is trolling you for having such shit taste.

one guy I think, but i think he also lived in the same county as Funi HQ

that hasnt stopped my folder

How is loli educational?

Start using XDCC

get fucked east-coaster

if i draw a comic about a violent murder and someone buys it they're not gonna get arrested for murder, so why in the fuck would someone get arrested for drawings of imaginary girls

your laws are stupid, west coast rules

no because i am not an idiot

It's exactly the other way around, user.

taught me how to love

no, because I don't live in LAND OF THE "FREEDOM"

Switch ISP's

Are you some kind of pansy ass faggot? Just ignore that shit like a regular person.

>Denton

Give me the title of the anime you want and i'll send you the kissanime rips.

this. ISPs are all about money, they're not gonna drop a customer over some chinese cartoons

just create a CR free premium account
now you own all anime and can legally torrent whatever the fuck you want

Seed cucks BTFO lmao.

When in doubt download and cut out.

Especially in America.

what country do you prefer to set your VPN to

Agreed. BC strong.

Cascadia when?

enjoy eternity in hell you bastard

Isp A $40, 15mbps:
respects muh freedom
tells MPAA and RIAA to fuck off
doesn't enroll in the 6 strikes plan
no caps
fights for you in court if needed
2 weeks log
vs.
google fiber

who do you pick?

A BOMB

Dunno how it is in Freedom Land, but here in Straya, we just ignore that shit.

I've gotten a couple of warnings a few years back about some 3D movies and normalfag music.

Ignored it, they stopped sending shit, nothing ever happened.

How else would you do it other than streaming XDCC?

>10-15 anime

Damn, are you an anime master?

Don't be a dickhead and seed at least 1:1
I just set qbittorrent to seed until 2:1 to which it will automatically remove it after hitting that point.

>the west coast of the US and canada will never secede from their countries and form a new, free country to lead the world and the rest of humanity into a glorious, free and technologically advanced future

feels bad man

In the 15 years I've been torrenting I never once seeded a single thing.

Not even a obscure chinese armored core clone phone game that was 200mb.

>west coast
>implying we would want California in Glorious Cascadia

>SAO
You deserved it, but seriously though if it's google fiber it's not surprising since they support the TTP.

SEEDING IS FOR FAGGOTS! WHO LEECH HERE?

I set my torrent client to stop after seeding 1% because that's the smallest amount it'll allow

Ungrateful shitlords

order your pirated shit partitioned in several floppy disks from around the world

Shit I'm retarded.
*TPP

I got an email one time from Comcast for western porn (fuck the US porn industry, I'll just go full JAV now) and nothing ever came of it.

Never got anything for downloading anime though. Did you try to get something that had a major US release or something that'd trigger a US company?

Leech here. I would seed but my upload is beyond atrocious.

Are you implying one can procure BD versions from IRC, because that's bullshit.

He downloaded fucking SAO

PLDT caps me at a certain point and speed goes down to 128

You realize that you only get caught if someone is in the stream and watching all IPs, right? I doubt anyone gives a fuck about seasonal shows, unless Funi and CR are now actively no fun allowed police.

Are you implying that the subtitle groups that actually release BDs won't release it on IRC?

SAO is a global IP. You literally cannot torrent it anywhere in the world without breaking international law.

Funi seems to care. I got one for downloading some seasonal shit once.

I'm honestly baffled how I haven't ever gotten a letter. One and a half TB of anime, 800 gb of music, afraid to even look at the movies and tv shows I have.

most anime cease and desist are from HorribleSubs downloads

Wait really? What was it?

Dimension W

>He's actually giving up his internet speed just for me.
>He's actually giving up precious data just so I can download only to leave him in the dust.
>Seedcucks actually risk themselves to legal problems.

If you keep your download/uploads small and slow (under 2 mb/s) and encrypt everything they usually don't care and/or don't notice.

This doesn't change the point.

Oh.. So ISP was really just trying to scare some shit taste out him huh? WTF did you even make this topic OP? Go delete that shit and learn some none shit taste damnit!

>15 mbps

Google Fiber

California would be worth taking onboard due to it being a significant economic superpower.

It's on the level of Washington state in terms of GDP. Not as much as Alaska though.

>Watch some good shit
>they send you merchandise instead

>Can afford google fiber
>Still use public tracker
How the fuck did you fuck this up.
Also XDCC is safe as fuck.

I don't seed things, but you act like a total scumbag about it.
You genuinely a bad person.

Who is ISP A?

It's the third world countries that don't give a fuck user.

There's literally a website that mirrors everything posted on Nyaa to multiple DDL filehosting sites, but yeah, mostly XDCC. There's no reason to put your IP address on a torrent tracker where anti-piracy people can see it and report it to your ISP.

It has San Francisco and Silicon Valley, two places that rely heavily on government support to exist (the same can be said for its agricultural sector.)

when I was a fucking retard 8 years ago I didn't know what seeding was. After weeks of downloading shit, I was seeding about 30 things at once. Internet speed suffered, so I called my ISP twice, and even had a guy come and look at the modem
