however, there was roughly 7 million others killed, a lot more of the 7 million others were killed by regular war, than the 5.5 million jews.
Most of these others were slavic POW's that were killed as a result of other "war crimes" such as not feeding prisoners, no proper medical care, etc.

The real question is how many were extreminated. Many died. It serves a narrative to say all that died died by extermination, as it helps distinguish those deaths from all other deaths in the war. The numbers pale in comparison to others: American GIs for instance. Though being killed in combat isn’t the same as the extermination Of captives, the intent to kill is there just the same.

If you do a simple google search that is answered, that is the number that the nazis recorded, not the number that was killed. The Nazi's took special care to leave little evidence of the killings to keep citizens from discovering it.
