I know that doing a second season of this wouldn't be a financially wise decision for KyoAni but why are they wasting time and resources on another season of Euphonium? It only had like a 8k average and in typical fashion, the 2nd season of it will sell worse like all 2nd season of anime do.

If I'm not mistaken Euphonium is an in-house series original. Which means all success go straight to them. It may not be doing groundbreakingly well but it's shown to be successful enough. And they probably feel like they need to give some actual closure to it.
Amagi was a light novel adaption for them.

Because this was a novel-length story with a beginning, middle, and end. It hit the end, resolved all of the questions and conflicts, and now it's over.
I sympathize. I enjoyed this story. I was sorry when it ended. But that just means it was a good story. When a crappy story end, you don't miss it.
