I listen to Gregorian choirs when doing Oly, but I still wonder how this classifies as politics

What's Oly? And yes, this is politics because Christians are being attacked and demeaned by everyone these days.

Explain what it means to 'bear false witness' and maybe I'll take you seriously.

ah right
Olympic lifting.

Fuck off back to where you belong.
>Christians are being attacked and demeaned by everyone these days.
Because you're scummy cultists who deserve nothing but contempt from any upstanding person.

Guys got any links or dumps that would help refute some jehova witness? Been having one knock on my door and it's getting annoying, thinking of sitting down with them and comparing bible verses with KJV. Mostly stuff about refuting their usual claims(Jesus = angel michael, etc) and the origin of the religion itself(which from what I remember is very recent in terms of religions).

kill yourself you fucking bolshevik scum. that disgusting part of your history will never leave you as you have now so demonstrated. FUCK OFF

>Christians are being attacked and demeaned by everyone these days.
isnt that just the hamtaro baptist church in usa?

>ecause you're scummy cultists
Christianity is not a cult. It is impossible for it to be considered one because cults are
A) very recently made beliefs
B) relatively small group
C) is considered by others as very strange and/or sinister
All of these do not describe Christianity(that would fit nicely with paganism tho) Nice try, user.

Like you guys don't shit up our threads

>isnt that just the hamtaro baptist church in usa?
No, but in general Christianity is being attacked and it's true. If you were to compare society from the 1940's to today, it would look like sodom in comparison.

luke 10 7 is from a section of supposed directions from Jesus on how to preach. It says to stay in one place and not preach door to door.

Hi i like god

Definition of cult
>1: formal religious veneration: worship
>2: a system of religious beliefs and ritual; e.g. the cult of Apollo
>3: a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; e.g. the voodoo cult, a satanic cult

t. radical marxist and/or muslim

I'm a deist who is married to a Catholic and planning to raise my kids catholic.

Am I still getting in to purgatory? I prefer the idea of my soul being scorched of it's remaining sin and heresy to the point of being clean enough for heaven, rather than assuming I'm gonna be given the keys to the pearly gates by default.

Just seems like a more worthy trial for eternal happiness.

Sorry if Marxists and/or Muslims are the only people in Australia who can correctly read a dictionary

Have a (you), now GTFO

>purgatory
You do know that's unbiblical, right?

...

99% of catholics go to purgatory for a spell anyway. purgatory scorches you of your venial sins, minor sins like lying or being a cunt or whatever.

you go to hell if you've committed mortal sins that you never had absolved(through confession or anointing of the sick/last rites if a priest's around, and if none can get to you in time then genuine regret and your own prayers should cover it). mortal sins are basically breaking the commandments, so theft or murder or adultery and stuff like that.

Can someone explain to me why they believe? I want to believe but, so far I've only been able to discern three reasons and they don't apply to me.
>raised Christian
The most obvious one.
>had religious experience
Pretty rare I think, but as good a reason as any imo.
>LARP as Christian because it's beneficial (morals, community, etc.)
I think this one is common too, but I don't see it as actually believing.

Can anyone add their reasons to this or maybe refute this post or something?

post more of the mascot

>hurr durr all religions are cults
Typical communist completely incapable of understanding definitions and nuance

>Can anyone add their reasons to this or maybe refute this post or something?
Fear of death.

wouldnt that include protestants tho?
also what are mormons considered? jehowas witnesses? anglicans? Zorostrians?

Genuinely curious about this.
So if souls exist at what point do they leave after you die? Like if someone drowns and is brought back, which is pretty common, why didn't the soul leave as soon as they died?

Good one, thanks.
>tfw still doesn't apply to me

I Corinthians 3:11-15

For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble—each man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

ITT we discuss how we can ensure the borders stay open.

>synonyms: church

>>hurr durr all religions are cults
I never said this. Who are you quoting?

>Zorostrians?
Pretty sure if they are a cult then every religion beside maybe hinduism is a cult.

I was raised Catholic, but was more culturally catholic than anything else. I really didn't believe in the religion itself, and just believed more in evolution and all that crap. When I was 20, I decided to attend a church because I was really feeling down that day, than I was told about Jesus and bible verses that paralleled with my life. After a year I became a born again Christian.

It is true that some people rather LARP as Christians to be considered "normal" or try to fit in. Which is why I say away from dating sites like """"""Christian"""" mingle and the sorts, much better just meeting in person. While some larp, it could be that most just don't take it seriously enough and barely follow the bare minimum.

You do know that what is biblical was determined by the catholic orthodoxy.... who determine that purgatory is real

Also where the fuck was Lazarus while he was sleep dead?

>avatarfagging

cringe

I liked Peter Hitchen's idea that it's a choice. You choose to believe in a universe where there's meaning, justice, and intelligent design behind it all, or that existence is a cosmic car crash, devoid of meaning and direction.

Then there's the 'why is there something rather than nothing' question.

>Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem.
>Big Bang theory.
>Shroud of Turin, and the remains of the Holy Cross.
>How the commandments have kept good moral values in society.

If you look at these events in a biblical point of view, you get why I personally believe in the holy trinity.

woops, my bad. wasnt there some similar (by name)christian branch that began with a "z"?

Tell me about your gospel, heretic.

Would you state that Christianity specifically is a cult and yet other religions aren't?
It seems to me if you're going to apply such a broad brush to one religion you would just as easily (or might as well) do the same for all

>ortodoxy
>deus vult flag
The larping on this one is off the charts.

>Can someone explain to me why they believe?

This sums it up pretty nicely.

Are Pantheists allowed in?

I'm agnostic. I used to be Christian but gave up the faith as I found it useless and it felt like there was so much injustice in the world it wasn't worth trying.

Combined with the fact that while I respect my body and don't want to sleep with the first girl that let's me, I jack off regularly and am attracted to traps.

I'm not as well versed in the scripture but I've come to realise many successful societies are based on Christianity and after some time passed I respect Christianity even though I don't follow it.

Would, in your minds, god forgive me for masturbation and for being attracted to traps/feminine men? These are the only things that hold me back from accepting the faith again.

Orthodoxy is the new Deus Vult.

Thanks for your response, but how did those bible verses convince you? If I read a book it might inspire me and have parallels with my life, but that doesn't make it true. What convinced you Jesus died for your sins and all that?

>Would you state that Christianity specifically is a cult and yet other religions aren't?
Yes

That's using an illustration of things going through fire as a description of believers’ works being judged. If our works are of good quality “gold, sliver, costly stones,” they will pass through the fire unharmed, and we will be rewarded for them. If our works are of poor quality “wood, hay, and straw,” they will be consumed by the fire, and there will be no reward.

The passage does not say that believers pass through the fire, but rather that a believer’s works pass through the fire. 1 Corinthians 3:15 refers to the believer “escaping through the flames,” not “being cleansed by the flames.

The very idea of Purgatory and the doctrines that are often attached to it (prayer for the dead, indulgences, meritorious works on behalf of the dead, etc.) all fail to recognize that Jesus’ death was sufficient to pay the penalty for ALL of our sins. Jesus, who was God incarnate (John 1:1,14), paid an infinite price for our sin. Jesus died for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3). Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 2:2). To limit Jesus’ sacrifice to atoning for original sin, or sins committed before salvation, is an attack on the Person and Work of Jesus Christ. If we must in any sense pay for, atone for, or suffer because of our sins – that indicates Jesus’ death was not a perfect, complete, and sufficient sacrifice. It would also imply that we don't really need to take religious practice serious since we can work it off in pergetory anyways, which is unbiblical.

no, only Panentheists

This doesnt make any sense...

That's so fucking retarded on so many levels.
Care to show your flag, larper?

...

And what specific attribute of Christianity makes it a cult as opposed to other religions, give examples.

Utility does not require truth. Your post is a logical fallacy.

>That's so fucking retarded on so many levels.

I demand answers.

>Utility does not require truth.

It suggest truth. When the suggestion is too strong, you must believe.

Lmaoing at your life, christcucks.
>hates jews
>belives in jewish tales

Ave Iesus, deus filius!

>Would, in your minds, god forgive me for masturbation and for being attracted to traps/feminine men?
Do you know anything about Christianity? The entire premise is predicated on us being Fallen Man and Christ died while we were sinners to forgive our sins and walk a new path in life.

>it felt like there was so much injustice in the world it wasn't worth trying.
There's centuries of theologians speaking on the Problem of Evil, it's honestly like you haven't even tried to address your issues here.

>I found it useless
Depends on what you're trying to 'use' it for

>>belives in jewish tales

you do

shouldn't it be filius dei (dei being genitive)?

We shouldn't. We need to fight the globalists.

I love the story of the wheat and tares. Early on indistinguishable, but near the end a clear difference can be seen. Like heresy. Christ in his Mercy left the tares to grow with the wheat so that no wheat may be harmed while trying to weed out tares.

And what show or game are these Chinese ladies from?

Stop projecting, i believe in true gods, that my ancestors worshiped, before kikes ruined it with their jew on a stick.

How does that 7 year old boy dick taste?

>utility suggests truth
No. The point at which the suggestion "becomes too strong" is also arbitrary.

Ask them if Jesus is good, when they say "yes", show them Mark 10:18 -- "there is none good but one, that is GOD."

Traps are gay. Repent.

The elites have taken over the power centers of Churches. Do you want me to bring up the articles of leaders in pagan and Wiccan communities in the UK being accused and charged with pedophilia?

We as Christians don't believe that purgatory is biblical. Rather, we believe that in order to get to heaven, you need to trust and confess to the Lord Jesus Christ, to save you from your sins. Works will not get you into heaven.

Anyone who does not profess that Jesus is Lord, will go to hell to pay for their sins. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

I suppose it should. I need to work on my Latin.

You seem to misunderstand my post. I USED to see it as useless because I was a kid who though "lol god hates gays it's dumb"

When I was younger I only saw things as having material value or no value at all.

I used to feel like there was injustice BECAUSE of religion and god when in reality displacing blame onto one person/god is stupid as it doesn't address the problem.

Sorry if I'm not making much sense I wasn't exactly as well versed as I could have been.

And your first part doesn't necessarily address my issue. Will I be punished for these things despite being Christian and following the faith?

Reminder to the LARPagans ITT that their skin won't save them from eternal fire

We as Christians don't believe that they actually did die. If someone "comes back" after drowning, they were never dead. It's a difficult subject for sure, because Jesus brought some people back from the dead, but that was very different from what we see with drowning victims "coming back", etc. In my opinion, they never died.

The most powerful cults get to be called religions.

The most powerful gangs get to be called governments.

Latin is a pain to learn. I'm on my 2nd year at uni, and it's by far the hardest module.

Honestly
why don't we just genocide papists?
It's not like they're people.

That's not very Christian of you.

Well, Christianity started as a jewish cult that only picked up steam when they allowed non-jews to join.
The teachings are sinister and spurious. They promote Nihilism and Altruism

Neither are papists

>Would, in your minds, god forgive me for masturbation and for being attracted to traps/feminine men?

God definitely forgives masturbation, but the "attracted to traps" part is a bit sketchy, because the Bible teaches that when some people definitely rejects the gospel and salvation, God gives them over to a reprobate mind, "to do those things which are inconvenient". Meaning, some people who make a final decision to reject God will not be saved, such as flaming Pride faggots, etc. If you jerk off to traps, that's not guaranteed to mean you're a faggot, it probably just means you've numbed yourself with porn so much that you need the most degenerate shit imaginable to get off.

So my answer is yes, you can definitely get saved. Just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

>They promote Nihilism and Altruism
How nihilism?

Reminder that the Roman Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon.

I always sees this two women at my local train station wearing long skirts and having a fucking cart with random pamphlets talking about shit like teen depression and natural disasters and how they think they have the solution ? Who are they some heretical sect ?

The book that really got me was the book of Job. In short, it is a story about how a rather well off man was tormented and life ruined by the devil, but still kept his faith strong. During that time, my grand father(who was really like a father to me) was very sick and dying. Isaiah 53:3-7 was another one I remember.

All physical truth is reached by empirical observation; and the point at which Newton's (a hard-core believing Christian btw) laws become true is arbitrary as well. You're just an argumentative brainlet.

They're still our brothers and sisters even if they have been led astray. Our first duty should be to try and show them the right path. If they decide to accept the true faith can all is well. If not then they might come to the light in some other way.

>And your first part doesn't necessarily address my issue. Will I be punished for these things despite being Christian and following the faith?
Depends what doctrine you follow. Catholics will say you're saved but if you have unconfessed sins when you die, then you go to purgatory to purge yourself of the sins you 'still had at death' before ascending to God's presence.
Protestants say your faith by God's grace has saved you. Christ's death for us imputes (or credits) his holiness onto us so we are absolved of punishment. That's the whole point of the New Testament. If you look at the Old, the entirety of it is showing that we (or the Hebrews at least) can't live up to the standards of holiness, and the New is the creation of a new covenant where those who believe in him are deemed righteous.

gotquestions.org/Romans-road-salvation.html
We are *all* not worthy of mercy or forgiveness but God is a good God and does so because he loves us

Reminder

>end time prophecy
The end time has been near arleardy for a long time and will be near for a long time user.

I'm catholic, tell me about your remorse towards us and I will tell you the truth.

Latin is a pagan language.

>reminder that Protestantism came 15 centuries after Catholicism

I want to have consensual sex with Christ-chan in the missionary position for the sole purpose of procreating while holding hands.

So what traits or origins of Judaism make it a cult compared to other religions.

Also a language of the Western church during the middle ages.

So you guys more classify death as the moment where the soul leaves and not actually when the heart stops/brain dies? Fair enough

Wearing long skirts is a very common attire for baptist women. The Bible teaches that women should not show their thighs and they should wear clothing that's made for them, and sins pants are made for men, women in baptist/Bible believing congregations wear skirts.

Hard to know which denomination they belong to, but it's possible they are normal baptist Christians and not part of some weird sect. Probably not, to be honest, because sects don't normally want their members (especially women) going around in the open world.
