Anyway - topic of discussion: wtf is HTS planning in Idlib? Everyone thought that their options were to fight now or to fight later, and it's better to fight now because the SAA and Russia are busy against ISIS. All the rebel fanboys have been saying it, urging them to fight now "before it's too late". But they chose not to fight for now, they bought themselves more time instead. Why? What is their master plan?
As far as I can tell, the only thing they could possibly be hoping for is if they can somehow make Russia and Turkey turn on each other again. But how? Another chemical attack? That's just cliche, and if they still had access to chemical agents, I see no reason why they hadn't used them already. Besides, last time they did that, all that accomplished was a slight diversion which did not produce any meaningful geopolitical change - Turkey and Russia are still on the same page. How many chemical attacks would it take?
What else could they be possibly planning? They have about 4 to 5 months max before ISIS is completely finished. After that, the SAA will be ready to crash down on them hard. If they haven't yet executed their master plan by that point, it will be too late afterwards.
>If they haven't yet executed their master plan by that point, it will be too late afterwards. There is no master plan other than blending in with the moderates. They may be knuckledragging jihadists, but they're not stupid enough to think they can win militarily against the world a la ISIS...

Yeah I figure they'll be doubling down on that perhaps, but how is that enough? They're still a terrorist organization designated as such by all relevant parties including US, Turkey, and Russia, and all parties involved are determined to crush it no matter what it does to blend in.
So fast forward a few months, DEZ operation is finished, Russia and Turkey turn back to Idlib and are like "ahem HTS I see you're still there, you have 24 hours to surrender all weapons and allow us to occupy Idlib peacefully, otherwise we will do it by force."
What do?

>Damascus, SANA- The cabinet approved on Tuesday a protocol and cooperation formulas signed with the Russian side aimed at putting a comprehensive work mechanism to follow up implementation of the outcomes of Syrian-Russian Committee meetings for economic cooperation.
The cooperation formulas stipulate forming a central work group at the cabinet, led by the General Secretary, and forming sub-committees at the ministries concerned to follow up these agreements.
The cabinet also discussed a work project presented by the Planning and International Cooperation Commission on developing the national system for strategic planning and currency flow management.
The project will deal with the employment and labor market, reconstruction strategy and finding a solution to the random housing.

>St Petersburg, SANA- Speaker of People’s Assembly Hamoudah al-Sabbagh called on members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s General Assembly to condemn the Israeli aggression on one of the Syrian military positions in Damascus countryside, saying this aggression poses threat to the security and stability of the region.
The General Command of the Army and Armed forces said in a statement that the Israeli enemy fired Monday a number of missiles from inside the occupied territories that hit a Syrian army position in the countryside of Damascus, resulting in material damage.
“People’s Assembly in Syria condemns and denounces the aggression on the Syrian territory by the Zionist entity,” Sabbagh said in an interposition at the IPU meeting.
He added such aggressive attempt is a proof on that entity’s fear from the victories of the Syrian army against armed terrorist groups and a new assertion on the range of correlation between this entity and these groups.
Dylan Baker
That's unlikely to happen.
Not with Saudi funding, millions of supporters and thousands of willing recruits around the world, specially when local Islamic militias and gangs with territory realize they can get special access to training, weapons and funding if they publicly swear loyalty to IS cause.
The deep state also have more use for them too since the world isn't chaotic and violent enough for sales of arms and munitions to fly off the shelf yet.
