Is his career as a mangaka dead? Is he even still respected in Japan? Can he be considered a success in anyway? Is he the M Night Shamylan of manga? If he made a new series would anyone actually read it? Is he a genius or a troll?

people are so emotionally broken that they dont want to follow his next pairing just to get disappointed again.

I doubt Kubo cares. He made enough money to keep him set for a lifetime.

>is he a genius or a troll?
Both.

At this point, does he really need to keep working? Is he not set for life from all the fanboy monies they threw at him?

This.

He should become a fashion designer.

I don't watch Jewllywood's indoctrination movies these days.

Tell me the similiraties of Kubo and this Poo director.

The only movie I've seen of Poo is TLAirbender.

Greentext one example of M.Night film that is on par with kubo plot twist asspull.

>He didn't watch "the sixth sense"

>the sixth sense
I did a long time ago, I just don't bother looking up the directors.

>All the OP's and ED's were about his journey as a mangaka
>From the crushing rejection/depression to being saved by his hero and finally achieving success
>Only for the industry to try and change him and his story
>He kept refusing, pushing forward to retain his vision even if it meant failing by the end
>The last OP is basically a cry to his fans, pleading for them to stay and support him despite the story going south
He's the Aizen of his own life.

>Writes the 15th best selling manga of all time
>"He betrayed his fans, his career as a mangaka is OVER"

When did people become so utterly retarded.

Not that guy, but Shyamalan is known for having a "twist" in his movie that's built up decently, but never makes enough sense to justify the run-around.
>He was a ghost all along!
>The village was actually in New York and the monsters were people!
>The little girl knew that water hurt the aliens all along!
>The guy was actually manipulating the world with his writing! And the Lady was just some fantasy world/alien thingy. Yeah, it's fucking stupid
The comparison is apt only because the "TWEESTS" are arbitrary and contrived.

No one will remember him.

>is his career dead?

Nope. He can go to any magazine he wants. He can even go make a seinen manga next if he wants to. Also, the royalties from Bleach continue to pour in from anime sales, and the 2017/2018 Live-Action, should it profit, will net him enough for the rest of his life to live lavishly, if he isn't already.

Also, he can always go be a concept artist for fashion companies, as that was one of his interests--and fashion is pretty huge world wide. He's got lots of options.

Well considering they are burning his manga right now and it's all over twitter

Or become a chara designer. From that one Shirobako chart I gather it can be quite lucrative.

>work on a manga for years
>bad at pacing things
>can't manage the ending in time
>leave with bad memories and a vocal group of people screaming your downfall

Poor Kubo

Looking forward for his Kubotite x Uniqlo collab.

Is he actually rich? I would have thought a career as a manga artist is poorly paid. Maybe he can afford to take a break for a couple of years whilst setting himself up to start his next disaster but not for sure surely?

Same op here...

Holy shit he might actually be worth something. I stand corrected.

celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/authors/tite-kubo-net-worth/

>Is he even still respected in Japan?
People stopped respecting him in Hueco Mundo during the Szayel fight, which dragged on and on with nothing to show for it

>15th best selling
Nah nigga, 18

He should work as an artist and let someone else handle the story and deal with editors

>Is he the M Night Shamylan of manga

But Shamylan is still making a movie.

It's underageb& or newfags, who don't realize how big of a medium manga is or how massively successful Kubo is compared to the average mangaka.

The average manga artist makes a pittance, but the top earners are well-off.
altjapan.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/05/manga-artist-salaries.html

Oda who is the current #1 made US$2.8 million in 2010 alone. If earnings are directly comparable to tankoubon sales (which isn't, but I'm just simplifying) then Kubo would be making around 20% of Oda's.

At first I thought this was a good idea. But then I remembered that he can never be bothered with things like backgrounds. And his characters started to all look the same as Bleach went on.

>Is he a genius or a troll?

Neither. He's either lazy, incompetent, or both.

I hope he does a fashion manga next.

He shouldn't have got married.

Doesn't the mangaka get their portion of anime and merch sales?

Yeah they do. But JUMP animes don't usually sell DVDs much and it's hard to find sales figures of merch. That's why as I said it's simplifying. Either way, Kubo's still a millionaire, if he lives within his means that money can last until his retirement.

This. The only twist that made some semblance of sense was Unbreakable. And that's because everyone knows nerds are evil.

>Is he a genius or a troll?

Perhaps.

Youtube Bleach fan: For real. I just pretend certain things don't happen and call it good.

Where'd you get that number? The only reports I could find for Oda was from 2010 and they estimated ~15.5 million from manga sales and another ~8.97 million from merch

I remember wrongly. Oda made so much more holy fuck. If Kubo made even 20% of it he's more set for life than I thought.

His career is probably dead since both his Mangas got shit canned in the end, although bleach was very successful for a wile.

I doubt he cares,he's made more than most people make in a life time and is set for life as long as he doesn't blow all his money on drugs and mansions like many rich Americans.

Maybe now people see how good Nico Tanigawa is maybe more people checkout watamote now.

Stop fucking spamming this everywhere, you retard.

>Is his career as a mangaka dead?

It's currently in agony. Who knows if it'll ever recover. Only time will tell. He's got money, in the meantime.

>Is he even still respected in Japan?
70/30. Plenty of japs were calling on his shit through twitter and mail, it seems that Kubo needed to develop a thicker skin because of the amount of buttblasting his responses had. And it all culminated with the Kubo Porn Star Meme, which made him retire from social media.

>Can he be considered a success in anyway?

Sure, why not? He was publishing Bleach for 15 years. That's something.

>Is he the M Night Shamylan of manga?

Sort of.

>If he made a new series would anyone actually read it?

I wouldn't. His illustrations are fine, though.

>Is he a genius or a troll?

None. He's just a mountain of salt that manages to do well in the style deparment. But in the end, he also happened to be (in his own words) a "twisted person".

>Can he be considered a success in anyway?

He created Rukia Kuchiki. That alone is his bigget success.

>is his career dead?
Yes.

Bleach was clearly cancelled.

>Komamura was pointless
>Yamamoto was pointless
>Espadas were pointless
>Aizen did fucking nothing and he still exists
>Aizen's plan was pointless because ended up saving SS
>Soul King was pointless, under explained and disappointing
>Ichigo being a Quincy/Hollow/Shinigami aberration did nothing, was pointless and changed nothing
>Explaining the Zanpakutos are artificial was pointless
>Ichigo coming in terms with his three powers was pointless becuuse lol Ychwach
>Ychwach powers are pointless because lel weakness
>The whole Uryuu bullshit at the war was pointless
>Uryuus vs Ychwach could have been an interesting final fight because of opposing powers, but lol no, lets deus ex machina this shit
>Developing two fantastic double agent villains to have one of them killed and the other doing fucking nothing
>The Vizards and their powers were pointless
>The Fullbringers were pointless
>3/4 of the shinigami where pointless

What happened to urahara And all the other characters?

>tfw Momo's love for Aizen was completely dropped.
I mean she was practically yandere for him.

This.

Her development was shoved into one of the novels set during the timeskip before the fullbring arc. In there, Shinji as the new captain decided to start bonding with his new VC, and she was explaining how she was still digesting Aizen's betrayal, and how she decided to apply the good things the former "Aizen Taicho" teached everyone in that squad. She started to see Shinji as new comrade she could trust after that. All while Rukia was with Urahara looking for a way to bring Ichigo's power back.

Honestly, Kubo should have done this in the manga itself instead of shoving all of that fullbring bulshit and pointless characters.

Except Unagi, Unagi could stay.

Still, Momo never facing Aizen again was a wasted oportunity.

I admit that page was funny.

Not only that, but Kubo is a dead man walking. Come Monday we'll see hell from Japan's reaction. I'm expecting Kubo will get stabbed for being a complete hack for not producing IchiRuki.

Thanks for the useless input tumblr you can go home now.

>destroyed his manga by writing himself into a corner
>manga cancelled
>shat all over loyal fans
Ded.
>

The most self aware page in bleach.

>Come Monday

Surely, some nip who can read English would have already read the English scanlation by now?

News have spread pretty far already in Japan, but there are still a great number of Japanese fans that don't check scanlations of other languages and follow manga series without checking daily news.

A lot of them have read the spoilers already, but the chapter has not been released officially yet. It comes out on monday.

>70/30. Plenty of japs were calling on his shit through twitter and mail, it seems that Kubo needed to develop a thicker skin because of the amount of buttblasting his responses had. And it all culminated with the Kubo Porn Star Meme, which made him retire from social media.

Are any of his tweets translated? I could use a laugh.

That user was talking about twets from 2008 and onwards and when Kubo still had his twitter account active. Most of them were lost because he closed it some years ago for the porn star incident, but here are some examples that were succesfully saved: twitter.com/InazumaBuster/status/766793881518280704/photo/1

Pic related is another classic.

Kubo was joking here. At least that's what Japan believed.

>implying god has anything to worry about
Ichiruka fags, everyone.

that ending make fairytail manga look good, embarrassing

animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2010-12-22/magazine/one-piece-creator-oda-made-2-billion-yen

>made a lot of money from bleach and other related shit throughout 15 years
>his manga is finally finished

This guy mentioned about wanting to go on a vacation and he probably is going on one. He can go enjoy life with his wife now, maybe make a Kubo Jr.

Who's wearing the white hoodie?

Bleach start losing it popularity at time kubo shift his focus on Orihime, coincidence ? i think not

it doesn't matter cause IchigoxOrihime happened, get over it.

>his focus on Orihime

You misspelled "pointless battles and misplaced development of tertiary characters that were best off left in the SS arc" there.

:)

I hope that his next manga is about a flat chested woman trying to make it big in the fashion industry

And all the models are big breasted woman

>Tell me the similiraties of Kubo and this Poo director

>has been saying from the beginning that Ichigo and Rukia are platonic, that there is no love relationship, that they are close but not in the "I want to fuck you" kind of way, that they are pretty much bros

>retarded autist still get upset when Ichigo doesn't end up fucking Ruki

Fucking pathetic. I'd be like people going apeshit because he doesn't end up fucking Chad or Ishida or Renji.

Ichigo still havent show any affection toward Orihime in the whole manga, you can even say he marry her out of pity

Grimmjow

He didn't show any romantic affection towards Rukia either.

How fucking stupid do you think the Studio Pierrot staff are going to feel when the chapter officially releases in Japan?

Whatever soothes your pain.

I think shipperfags are retarded for thinking that pairings matter, but it is a fact that Bleach was awful for years.
Kubo is going to take a break, but if he ever expresses desire to make more manga for Jump, he'll certainly be given an opportunity, just with less freedom to make sure he won't produce another trainwreck.

>Can he be considered a success in anyway?
His maga run on Jump for ~15 years. He continued to sell a fuck ton of copies even when it became pure shit. Just becoming a mangaka that is nearly immune to ToC rankings in Jump is huge. If anything, successful is what he is.

Wasnt even mad on the parring, it the ending. basically
Kubo here IchigoxOrihime,
Ok cool, how about everything else
Kubo I dont give a fuck... the end

Why the fuck art they burning the tanks, and not WSJ?

They're the ones that rushed the ending.

>They're the ones that rushed the ending

And Kubo was the one that fucked up the story. See how everything is connected?

He is going to write the best NTR hentai the world has ever seen now

What happened to Bleach is sad, I hope Kubo becomes a cautionary tale to all future mangaka who prioritise style over substance.

After start reading JoJo I stopped caring about Bleach.

But I read everything until the end and this final arc is a pure mess. He need to stop listening the fucking fans.

I was hyped with the Fullbring Arc because Ichigo wasn't a Shinigami anymore and the new powers were interesting, them this motherfucker turned everything into the same shit in the end and dropped the fucking new powers.

He deserves to be treated really bad, so he will never make the same dumb mistakes again.

>He need to stop listening the fucking fans.

>Implying he wasn't writing what he always wanted to write, but he still fucked up with the pacing.

user, if he was actually listening to the fans, then Ichigo would have ended up fucking Rukia. He didn't.

Unless you're talking about him to not not get so buttblasted with critics.

He surprised himself how popular Bleach got. So I don't think he ever wanted to be really big. He was in it for his own passion but got kicked because of it.

Ikkaku Madarame

Stfu and kys

The Fullbring arc was so full of shit.
>OH HEY I GOT DOUBLE CROSSED!
>OH SHIT MY POWERS ARE STOLEN!
>OH WHATS THIS I'VE BEEN STABBED AND NOW A SHINIGAMI AGAIN ALL WITHIN SECONDS.
>TIME TO ICE THIS FOOL ONCE AND FOR ALL.

What he should of done was let Ichigo be powerless and an emotional wreck for a while after having his Fullbring powers ripped from him. Then introduce the concept of "Hey, I think we know a sure fire way of getting you back into the game no fooling."

I already miss Bleach.

Exactly. Soul Society ruined everything. They entered the picture way too quickly.

What is Toriyama's biggest sin? Super or encouraging Kubo?

Encouraging Kubo.

Super at least brought back Mai, future Trunks and Pilaf. Plus Beerus and Whis are GOAT.
